Roughly how much adjustment is there in the string spacing? The main measurement I am interested in is how tight the two outermost saddles can get
With the saddles centred, the string spacing is about 17.5mm. From the centre position each saddle has about 1.25mm of adjustment each way. So you could get the two outer strings to 15mm spacing if you wanted.

I bought this in 2007, but switched to German pattern soon after. It is the more expensive Premium version, rather than the Standard. It's in perfect working order, but some of the paint has chipped from the tip. This is a full-size bow for 3/4 or 4/4 size instruments.

Overall length 73cm
Length of hair 57cm
Weight 130g
Round Fibreglass stick
Brown
Manufacturer's description: "Glasser, the company that patented the world's first fiberglass bow, offers this premium round fiberglass French-style 3/4 bass bow. The distinctive wire winding and leatherette grip, half-lined frog, unbleached white horsehair, and imitation three-part button distinguishes the Glasser Premium fiberglass French bass bow from competing brands. Glasser premium fiberglass bows are comfortable in the hand and play with outstanding responsiveness. This bow offers the same weight and feel as a student model Brazil wood bow with a couple of differences, it is more durable, it will not warp, and it will not break at the tip!"

Purchased in 2002 from Caswell's in Bristol, I haven't used this bow for a while as I switched to German pattern bow. It is labelled as 'O. Spengler', and, according to the receipt (which I still have), it was made in Germany. It has an octagonal pernambuco stick, with an ebony frog. There are mother of pearl inlays, and the metal parts appear to be silver (or silver plated). Weight is 125g. Overall length 68.5cm, length of hair 52cm. I had it re-haired with coarse black hair, but changed to German pattern not long after, so the hair is quite fresh. It feels nicely balanced to me, although I realise bows can be quite a personal thing. I'm in Trowbridge, Wiltshire (near Bath/Bristol).

Warmoth 'Deluxe 5' neck for Fender basses (Licenced by Fender) I had this neck on my Fender Jazz Deluxe 5-string for a while until I sold it, it which point I removed it and fitted the original neck back again. It's been hanging around for a while with no purpose so I thought I'd move it on. Spec:

Maple neck with Pau Ferro fingerboard. This has a lighter colour than rosewood.
Nut width 44.5mm (1 3/4") - I found this more comfortable than the wider original nut on the Jazz.
22 frets (6105 size).
Corian or bone nut (invoice says bone).
Finish is vintage tint gloss.
No front or side dot markers
Neck width at body (neck pocket) end: 73.9mm
4+1 tuner configuration. Holes are 17mm. Reverse of headstock is drilled to take the two pegs from the plastic bodied lightweight machines that are fitted to the Fender Deluxe basses (see image below).

There are holes in the front of the headstock for Fender bar-style string trees.
If I remember correctly, the neck was supplied with undersized tuner holes and I had to enlarge them to fit the tuners from my Jazz. There was a slight cock-up with the 'D' string, where the first few mm of the hole are slightly oversized. This doesn't notice when the tuners are fitted as it is covered by the upper flange. You can see this on the photos.
The cost of the neck was $336. I think with all the VAT and other import fees, the total delivered cost was about £270. They are great quality necks, very stable, and just as good as the Fender original in my opinion. I have a identically spec'd Maple/Maple one on my Warmoth P/J, which is my main bass (I actually prefer it to my Lakland!).

Hipshot 'A' style 5-string bridge I bought this some time ago directly from Hipshot for a project. In the end I never used it, so it is basically new and unused. It is the 0.687" string spacing version (approx 17.5mm). The spacing is adjustable to some degree. The rollers that the strings pass over can be slid from side to side and then locked into the desired position. Can be strung thru-body or conventionally. This is finished in Chrome. I'm pretty sure that it is the brass version (rather than the aluminium), judging by the weight and the price on the original invoice. There are some very minor scuff marks between the B & E strings - if you look closely you can see it in the photo. There's a possibility they might polish out if it bothers anyone. These are a great quality bridge, beautifully machined. Fitting screws and allen key included. Can post for a cost of £5.

I'm in the process of clearing out a few items of gear that I have not been using much recently, and this EA Wizzy M-Line is one of them! It has been owned by myself from new. It is in excellent condition, there are no chips to the finish, or dents in the speaker grille. Has a flip-out 'tilt-back' handle that raises the front of the cabinet off the floor by a couple of inches. Very loud for its size! Handles a low B no problem. Compact & lightweight. As these cabs have a very flat frequency response, they can also be used for acoustic/electric guitar, keyboards etc. etc.

Configuration: 1x12 M-Line bass cabinet
Woofer: Proprietary EA 12" woofer
Tweeter: Integral "whizzer" cone
Frequency Response: 45Hz to 12kHz
Sensitivity: 103dB @ 1m
Sound Pressure: 126dB @ 1m
Power Handling: 200 watts
Impedance: 8 ohms
Connection Type: Two Speakon connectors
Handle: Two integrated custom steel handles
Size: 19.5"H x 16"W x 12.75"D
Weight: 34 lbs
I can ship it to UK mainland for £10, although buyer is welcome to collect or arrange their own courier if preferred. EA's description: "M-Line cabinets are a Euphonic Audio exclusive. They are an application of transmission line technology that can only be found in high-end audio speakers and studio monitors. When applied to a bass speaker like the Wizzy 12, it adds a high-fidelity spin for those looking for the flattest response in a 1x12 cabinet configuration. Of course, this is only possible because we started with a successful design - the Wizzy itself, the speaker cabinet that uses a super-woofer with a "wizzy" high-frequency cone at its center. This eliminates numerous parts that separate you from your sound. What's left is a speaker cabinet in its purest form. The Wizzy 12 M-Line is a very special cabinet. In many ways, it's our replacement for the VL-208, considered by many to be the best cabinet ever created for Upright Bass and Bass Guitar. The 12 M is like playing through a studio monitor for bass, yet one that can play at stage volumes. No matter what the music, the 12 M lets you hear your bass as exactly as it sounds. "

I'm in the process of clearing out a few items of gear that I have not been using much recently, and this Hartke Kickback 10 is one of them!

Hartke Aluminium cone 10" speaker
120W
Kickback design - can be stood conventionally or tilted back for clearer sound in tight stages
Low (100Hz), Mid (300 Hz), High (5kHz) EQ with 15dB cut or boost
Variable shape control (sweepable filter 80Hz - 1kHz)
XLR D.I. output
Headphone output
This unit was customised with a mute switch (with green LED) to allow muting between sets or when tuning (using headphone out as tuner out)
It also has a 27mm top hat fitting on the base which means it can be mounted on a suitable speaker stand.
This amp has served me well - you can see that it has had lots of use from the pictures. However, it has been well looked after and serviced when necessary (new pots / jack socket etc.), so it is electrically & mechanically all in good working order. It is remarkably loud for such a small combo considering its 10" speaker. The fairly generous 120W probably has a lot to do with that. I can ship by courier (Fedex to UK mainland £10), although the buyer is welcome to collect (I'm in Trowbridge, Wiltshire) or arrange their own courier if preferred.

I'm in the process of clearing out a few items of gear that I have not been using much recently, and this EA CXL112 is one of them! Now a discontinued model, some people think these are the best cabinets EA made. Owned by myself from new. This is the later lightweight (L) model, which is a few pounds lighter than the original model. It also has the embossed 'EA' logos each side, which EA discontinued on later models (probably to reduce costs). It is in very good condition. Cosmetically there are minor marks here and there but no chips to the finish or dents in the grill. The finish is a tough black coating (I think it is called 'Nubtex'). The lighting in the photos is making it appear lighter than it actually is. There is a standard speaker 'top hat' mount on the underside so that it can be used on a speaker pole if desired. There is also a flip-out 'tilt-back' handle that raises the front of the cabinet off the floor by a couple of inches. Very loud for its size! Handles a low B no problem. They are also a very 'sensitive' speaker i.e. you get more dB per Watt than is usual for this type of cab. As these have a very flat frequency response, EA also recommends them for acoustic guitar, keyboards etc. etc. Specs:

Custom Kevlar 12" with a 1" High Efficiency Phenolic Compression Driver
Tweeter Level Control located on rear connection panel
Frequency Response: 38Hz to 14kHz
Sensitivity: 103dB @ 1m
Sound Pressure Level: 128dB @ 1m
Power Handling: 350 watts (continuous unclipped power)
Impedance: 8 ohm
Connection: One Speakon, One 1/4" Jack
Size: 19"H x 17"W x 15"D
Weight: 44 lbs (20 kg)
Made in USA
I can ship by courier (Fedex to UK mainland £10), although the buyer is welcome to collect (I'm in Trowbridge, Wiltshire) or arrange their own courier if preferred.

Has anyone who owns a Zoom MS60-B noticed any background noise using it? I don't mean the usual white noise (hiss) that you get with all effects to some degree ( usually dependent on the amount of gain etc.). This instead is a continuous high pitched whine - I've measured it at about 5.5kHz. It's present all the time, it seems, the level varying depending on the FX selected. It's there even when my unit is running on batteries. It's there in various rooms (i.e. at home, at rehearsal etc), and it's there even with a just shorted jack plug in the input (to eliminate noise pickup from the bass). I'm wondering if I have a faulty unit, or whether this is just due to the budget nature of the device, and I'm expecting too much? BTW, you would need to have a bass cab with a tweeter to hear it, or feed it directly into a P.A. system or PC. Here a link to a short sound clip (again, it's not the hiss, but the high-pitched whine I am referring to): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1313046/Music/Zoom%20MS60-B%20high-pitched%20whine.wav

Does anyone know of a pedal that combines both EQ and compression in the same pedal, without going down the multi-fx route? I always find when I switch from finger style to slap style that the volume level and dynamics jump through the roof, and the tone I have set for finger style is wrong for slap. I'm looking for a pedal that has both basic EQ and compression that I can kick in when changing style. I'd like to be able to scoop the mids out with the EQ, and tame the dynamics with the compressor. I already have a Boss LMB-3 Bass Limiter Enhancer which sort of does this, but the EQ section is just an 'Enhance' knob so there isn't much control. Anyone got any ideas?
