  1. If you change your mind about postage I'll take it :-)
  2. Mine arrived on Friday, my excitement soon disappeared as four of the six strings had snapped at the bridge in transit :-( The rest of the bass looked immaculate and I'm really impressed with the finish and weight. Phone call to dolphin music who kindly said they'd send me a replacement set out (wow, I thought as we know these aren't cheap). Well the replacement ones arrived yesterday morning, a set of four long scale super slinkies! So, as yet, I've not even been able to play it. I've just ordered a set of La Bella roundwounds .95-.26 so will be waiting now until they arrive.
  3. Found out today that mine arrives at Fender on 7th October and will be set up and checked before being sent to me. Fingers crossed it's set up well although I'm expecting to have to get a tech to give it a once over. Cannot bloody wait!
  4. Good things come to those who wait.
  5. Ordered mine yesterday, apparently Fender are having some 'production problems' whatever that means so I've been told to expect it at the end of September/beginning of October. The guy on the phone said that Dolphin Music got there order in early, mine will be one of the first shipped. We'll see. I tried the hellcat about 8 years ago and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since, I'm so excited about this
  6. [quote name='Thornybank' timestamp='1354822773' post='1890971'] '98 Candy Apple Red MIM Jazz with rosewood board? [/quote] Hi Chris, Any photos? Not sure I'm going to be back up in Scotland any time soon though
  7. Photos added
  8. I think about £450 is fair.
  9. I've been back and forth over this as this was my ideal bass in looks, shape, feel and size. I have to reluctantly admit though that it just doesn't give me the sound I want and therefore she has to go. It got much more of a P bass sound to it and I just love the twang of a jazz. So, up for trade is my MIJ vintage white (cream really) mustang. I've had it fully set up and fret dressed and I've swapped out the tort scratch plate for a custom black-cream-black one (still have the original). It's in absolutely great condition save one teeny tiny lacquer chip on the top of the headstock. I'm after a Fender Jazz, ideally in black with a maple neck but all jazz's considered. I am based in Manchester if you want to come and see/play this little baby. I'm willing to travel a bit for the right trade. 10. Gone to a new home now
  11. Hi Jim, Thanks for the offer, and tempting as it is I shall pass this time. All other PM's now replied to....apologies for the delay.
  12. [sub]PM replied to .[/sub] [sub]Still available [/sub]
  13. In great nick, still got the original box. Bought and used for about an hour and never got round to using it again. I've just picked up a MicroKorg so my synth bass needs are currently met. I'm open to trades on other pedals or anything else guitar/bass related (I like the excitement) or will sell for £35 plus postage which should be a couple of quid. Alternatively come and have a look and try it out, I'm in South Manchester. I can't upload photos as I'm using my ipad, however here's a link for those who want a look: http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=156
  14. Bad wires?? And why does he always have to pose with the guitars? What possible benefit or adding selling point is seeing a fat man holding it??
  15. Rick..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/galleries/p00vtmr7 Good luck with the sale though, it looks lovely
  16. I'd assumed it was just because it weekens the joint, that's what I remember from electronics classes at school anyway.
  17. Ah ok, that makes sense then, thanks. I have the pickups already so will strip some sheathing to expose both wires. The control plate is on order from eBay so I don't have it yet. Good tip about not blowing!
  18. Ha, thanks!
  19. Evening all. I've never swapped out pickups before so please be gentle. Could someone advise if/ how to put these EMG select J pups on to a pre wired j bass control plate? They only have one wire so I just wanted some guidance before trying and potentially making a mess. http://www.elderly.com/new_instruments/items/images/PUE/SEJ.jpg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160696836278?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Thanks Gem
  20. I don't normally like "woody" looking basses but there's something really nice about that bass. And for a good cause too, sure whoever wins it will be happy.
  21. Thanks Noah, Im particularly pleased with the bass on that one.
  22. Oh god....this is pretty much the bass I've been waiting for, all that maple! Love it. I will be getting one of these. (Also agree that the switch plate on the vintage white model looks a bit crooked)
