1.
Very interested to see the vine 335 - the vine/carved LPs & SGs are Kasugas, near-identical to their own versions so obviously I'm wondering if the semi will be too.

This link is the same model as mine, with the exception it does not have the fujigen vines and mine is somewhat better condition prectically mint with original case and paperwork,I am currently sorting an issue these models had with the pickups but its no big deal, just needed potting.

  2.
Tino - I have to say you're dementedly but oddly endearingly optimistic with your prices! :)

That aside - bloody hell man the Electra's stunning - I don't know how you can part with that, & while I doubt you'll get the BIN, you might get a bid or two... There really aren't many of these in the UK - I don't know if they were ever officially imported here, being a US domestic brand. Electras were actually made by a number of different factories so you might not strictly be accurate saying it's a Matsumoku - although having said that, I dunno who did make this one!

Oli - that £75 EB-0 is an Avon - if you do decide to go for it, I have one of the metal pin-badges if you're interested.

    J.
Im often most optimistic having veiwed my intention though a mistyoptic
I have interest on the Ibby from Germany. The Electra is a beauty (one of 2 I have owned a while)the modules are commanding good money on there own stateside..
but wait to you see the Electra 335 I have with vine inlays to neck....Be on the Bay this time next week, exceptionally rare in the UK and more so in its amazing condition.

  3.
Setting aside that there were two importers using the Electra brand for the US domestic market, this Electra would have been manufactured for St Louis Music. SLM ordered stock from every major Japanese, and some Korean, factories.

Very little of Electra branded product was manufactured by Matsumoku, until the Electra line was subsumed into the Westone brand. Unless this Electra has a Matsumoku serial number, on the reverse of the headstock, it's not a Matsumoku made instrument. If it does have a serial then you can easily identify its year of manufacture. The only exception would be the Custom/Limited Edition made Matsumoku product, which would have a custom code stamped in the pickup cavity.
It has serial number impressed just like a gibbo, also in the effects cavity there are more numbers....never took the pups out so no idea whats to be found there and it was supplied bySLM,by other paperwork that came with it I beleive it to be before 84,but I will have a nose in it later...
I also have the tree of life 335 as used by Bishop coming on the bay next week just waiting on the potting to be done to sort out slight microphonic issues it has..Stunning 335 type guitar and I beleive fairly rare over here.

  4. well like many others I have had more than enough of Ebay.....
More than enough of foreign bidders that win your items then do not pay ,bid on items that clearly state UK auction only and collection only.
Ebay could not give a stuff they have your money no matter what...Ive 5 or so items running once finished that really is my lot,its just not worth the time or investment..

Unfortunately for you lot there will be more adds from me.....anyone need a lightly used teabag cheap & free delivery

  5.
We thought about it but dunno if the NI market would big enough for a boat load of rick copies :) Plus mentioning importing to the Agencies helping has the sucking of teeth and head shaking reactions.

As for the RIC copyright does it matter anywhere outside the US. I have heard differing opinions regarding that and that's how the Canadian Dillion manages to offer up there Rockinbetter being in Canada yer man can't do nowt but send letters. That bit seems to made more complicated because there is an American Dillion too no relation too the Canadian one.

Although just nosing the Rockinbetter that is supposedly from the same factory as tokai and the probass one claims to be Chinese with Korean hardware Dillion Canada Claims to be made in Korea.

Two totally different factories making them and put sticking the same name on them ???
over the pond but these aint half bad

  6.
You actually do have to pay duties on any new parts involved (I suppose some scammer must've used this as a method of bringing in components and avoiding duty on them in the past) but I don't know if the cost of labour is taxable. Have a nosey, but yes you probably would be liable for some duty, whether you end up paying it or not is another matter.
If the dealer is declaring a warranted repair then there will be no duties payable.

  7.
I've got an option to get some work done on something in the USA which, for lots of obscure reasons, actually works out cheaper than getting it done over here.

However I'm nervous that I might get hit for customs and import duties when it comes back into the country?

The US supplier said it would be clearly marked as "return from warranty repair" and thought that this would mean it wouldn't get taxed.

    Anyone been through this before?
As long as you have documented proof there will be no duties, however HMC may well hold its return to you until satisfied

  8. Nice condition Maya tele bass set up with flats,in very good condition for age....£275

PM for pics I cannot add for whatever reason OR JUST LOOK HERE

  9.
If we had a non-bass sticky thread, then we could also discuss other stuff, but people who don't want to see (e.g.) six string llistings could ignore it.
I have understanding but its Jap and not crap.....however my Ibanez bass is back on the bay......the buyer hadnt the funds.....its like the bloody things attached to me and aint ever gonna leave home.
Also putting a Maya Telecaster bass on there later today once I have a few pics

  10.
I've decided to buy a semi-acoustic to cut down on the amount of guitars I take to a gig, meaning this Dean Electro is now not needed.

In immaculate condition - just about as brand new (only gigged with it once). No dings at all. 8 months old. EQ also includes a tuner.

Comes with a set of flats (they are either TIs or LaBellas). Only issue is a slight resonant vibration on the A string which only appeared with the flats.

Hard case has a latch broken, but is very clean. Want £260 - postage extra (would really prefer not to post though as its quite delicate).

Live in Hull, can meet for contribution towards fuel. Pex possible - try me...Would love an old Ibby Roadster or Precision. Very keen on 70s Jap stuff - cash either way
How about a 70's Maya Telecaster bass in exceptionally good condition

  11.
A sec of feeler guages should cover the same ground, but not look as snazzy.
I was taught the side of a fag packet method and given that smoking is on the way out this may well become a lost art.
Gives me an idea for an ebay auction :)

  12.
Thanks Noel, that's fascinating stuff & some very persuasive ideas. Don't suppose you have any catalogues or promo literature? I'd love to see some pics of the Matsuoka-made Shiros. Would you think a Matsuoka/Cimar connection had any credence?

Ok not a bass but a beauty none the less

  13.
I've just got the one atm, but seriously tempted to get a lightweight rig too for practices and small gigs. My current rig is my dream rig, it's just a royal PITA to lug a 1kw head and a 4x10 to practices, very tempting to get a micro head and 2 small cabs (maybe 2 neo 1x12s).

Please just tell me I'm being stupid and I only need one amp.
1 more Mesa than I had at 8-45 this morning.....I will really have to take a sanity check as got stuff in the garage & the attic thats forgotten about...I feels an ebay moment coming on... :)

  15.
If only it had been one of the 51 RI Telecasters, I'd be all over this...! Good luck with the sale. :-)
like this one maybe...51 P reissue....mint but 15 years old

  16. I put this on the bay and unbeknown to me these amps are supposedly pretty good for use with a bass.....the rest of the parts probably not so but all are quite saleable.

    Here it is

    Dear tino7770,

Sorry - I missed the ? that should have been in
the title after the word Ibanez, to clarify that I
didn't know what it was. If you could read (the
description), it might have dawned on you that I'm
    not saying it's an Ibanez 4003 - I don't think
they made one. It is a copy of a Rickenbacker 4003
made by an unknown manufacturer. It has certain
features which led me to believe that it could
possibly be by made by the aforesaid company - but
I don't know - which is why I asked in the listing
for potential bidders to make their own mind up
what it is. Please DO NOT bid on my guitar if you
have any doubts about what you are buying. It is
not a Rickenbacker - it may be a Japanese copy of
    one - I DON'T KNOW. If you think it's 'chancy' -
    that's what's so good about Ebay - it's not
compulsory to bid! Thank you, Graham

    - grahamtosca

Well that told me....It told me hes being liberal with the facts

    Possibly Im not bidding then
Just spoke on the phone to with the seller he comes across as a real nice fella. He was sold this as an Ibanez over 10 years ago by a guitar shop,he is revising the ad to state that he has been made aware it is probably not an Ibanez...
So I must apologise to the chap,
Had a listen to his sound clip....not bad

  20.
I was made redundant recently and have some money tucked away which is earning me 0.5% interest currently. I was thinking that it may be better invested by buying something and tucking it away for a few years. I did this recently with a Wal but this didn't go as well as I'd liked - I'm convinced I paid too much..so I'm looking at other potential purchases. The obvious answer would be to buy the oldest Fender I could afford and stick it in the loft. However since collectable Fenders are already expensive I was wondering what others would buy and tuck away as an investment.
Dont hang me BUT

A bas is not you best bet

A nice early 70's LP custom is going to appreciate faster than a 70's Fender bass...................and its a buyers market....especialy if you are willing to import from the States..
Just bought a 1934 Gretsch acoustic in VGC with original hardcase...USA $900.......whats it worth in the UK...possibly double and a bit A 66 Mosrite for $600 again in fine condition......these make silly money here....Why I have no Idea

Gibbos are a Safe bet.....can I sell you one maybe????lol

  21.
If I purchase this item.....hence win it.....AND its not an Ibanez can I keep it and you issue a full refubd of my money,,,its all a bit chancy

sent this challenge in ebay question on item ....waiting on reply

Will he add it to questions asked..........I doubt it :)
And the reply would suggest its OK to talk bollx
