New bass... I've been playing bass for 28 years (yikes...!) somehow, but I've always ended up with a P bass (or at least a P Bass-alike) mainly just down to what was available/affordable secondhand, rather than for any technical reason. Though I love Ps, there's been a jazz bass shaped hole in my life - until now! Here's the new arrival - a 1999 USA Jazz in natural ash with white scratch plate. Not sure if they were called American Series/American Standard/Standard at this time, but I haven't seen many like this outside of the more recent 1975 reissues. It came with a Badass II fitted, which is a shame as i love the thru body thing, but no big deal. I love these late 1990s Fenders - despite the neck varnish cracking on all the ones I've played, I really like them - seems Fender did a really nice 'back to basics' job at the time, just doing a few models and doing them well. Sure, there's not a lightweight ergonomic machine head or Custom Shop pickup in sight, but they sound fat and full and thumping to me, as well as being nicely worn in 15 years later. Our local luthier gave it a bit of a set up and a tweak and i got it back on the weekend - since when I've been surgically attached to it. I plumped for the black p/guard in the end after a straw poll of friends reckoned: 'white looks more country, but black looks more rock.' Ha ha! Should get a chance to gig it in a few weeks - through a Littlemark III and a Schroeder 1210 cab. There's every chance it will sound righteous.... Good old Fender

Hello My "Moving house gear sale" continues... Here's an acoustic guitar sound hole pickup - it's a passive, single coil Fishman Neo D pickup. Bought new June 2013 and used for just one gig in a spare acoustic guitar. It's passive so sounds best plugged into some sort of pre-amp etc before going into PA to give it a boost volume wise. (I used a Boss GE-7 and it sounded perfectly good!) Boxed and near mint condition as a result. Few very small marks on surface from string binding rubbing against it slightly but barely noticeable. Comes with integral 3/4" jack lead. [s]£40 Ono delivered, or £35 collected from Leicester with a cup of tea thrown in.[/s] SOLD Cheers

Hi all Moving house so a good excuse to shed some stuff! First up I've got a Blackstar HT Dual pure valve distortion guitar pedal. You're probably familiar with them as they've been round a few years now - it's a two-channel distortion pedal with a valve in it for proper, um, valve-ish overdrive. It has bass/mid/treble EQ, separate gain levels and a clean/crunch setting. Also has an emulated output for going straight into PA etc if needed, and ISF control which sweeps from USA to UK amp sounds. I can honestly say I've done two gigs with it ever in the last four or five years since I bought it, so it's near mint condition. A couple of very very minor light scuffs on the casing, but all knobs etc working perfectly and smoothly. Comes boxed with its own power supply. I don't do many guitar gigs, and most of them are on acoustic, so I'm getting no use from this anymore. They appear to be around the £160 mark new to buy, so how does £85 posted sound? Will knock a few quid off if anyone wants to pop by to collect from Leicester. Cheers

Hi all I've got a P bass tort scratchplate which I no longer need. It's not a genuine Fender one, but it fits my MIA P bass perfectly and all the holes line up etc (see pic below). Bought it about 12 months ago but only used it for a few months before swapping back to white (and now to yummy pearl parchment!) It's pretty much mint nick, apart from a small hole drilled between tone and input jack - previous owner had an LED or something on it. The hole is very small - no bigger than the LED on a Boss pedal for example and not very noticeable among the tort pattern. £10 posted sound reasonable?

My old bass! Bummer you're selling this on so soon. I can vouch for it as a great little instrument - very comfortable to play, nicely set up and a hell of a lot of bass for the money. Only sold it (along with a few other bits) cos I have rather too many guitars and far too many bills to pay! GLWTS - whoever buys this will have a good bass coming their way.... -
Just picked up a nice pearl P bass scratch plate from Mike. Flawless transaction, fast delivery and good result all round.

Sorry guys I didn't make it in the end - my little boy was ill so spent the day getting him sorted instead. Needless to say I'd rather have been at the bass bash.....! Never mind. Hope it went well.

Hi sorry to spoil the list - but I was hoping to come by as well at least for a short while. I'm in Leicester too but on babysitting duties from about 2.30 - will pop by early doors tho! I haven't got anything rare or mega cool to bring along other than my 1969/70 p bass which I've just got back to full strength after a few tweaks and adjustments. Or I can just bring myself and say hello. See you there hopefully
