For Sale is a Grizzly Bass from Creation Audio Labs - £140 + postage (£5 UK, and £10 for further afield). It's a fantastic pedal capable of a wide range of tones and can cover many jobs from preamp/tone shaping thanks to it's powerful EQ filters (mid scoop and LPF), as well as it's Overdrive and Distortion circuits which can add everything from a little wart, beef, and fatness, all the way up to full grind. The pedal is also deceptively compact and in a nice hefty and strong enclosure. Fancy lights too! You can read more here: https://www.creationaudiolabs.com/grizzlybass Cash is king, but I'd be open to considering trades for any of the following - vintage voice jazz bass pickups, vex mastotron, modulation pedals, strange delays or reverbs...etc

SOLD Audio Kitchen The Small Trees - Valve Boost/Magic

A modern icon of electronic music. Comes in perfect working condition, and with the Unit Portables carry case and a selection of accessories and spare knobs. A wonderfully designed and built synthesizer, that offers all manner of creative possibilities with it's many forms of sampling, sound design, multi-track recording, and a wide variety of interesting performance features, all in a sleek and robust portable package. This has come to define the sound of much of the music made in recent years, and always a great source of inspiration, as well as great to immerse yourself in as you create a myriad of new sounds. *The aerial has a slight dent and bend to it, but still extends and works as expected (sampling the radio is one of my favourite tools for immediate creative inspiration). Add £5 for postage, or collect from Belfast.

For sale is a wonderful Tube/Valve Boost pedal from the masters at Audio Kitchen. SOLD Works absolute magic as an end-of-chain device for bass, adding depth, and a tube sheen to everything, with some wonderful harmonic detail. Paired with a compressor, and Barber Linden it's like a modular B15 preamp. I've had it paired with either a Radial JDI or RNDI as valve DI, and it really sounds amazing in this role (this has lead to me purchasing a new DI model, hence this sale) Comes with original box and power supply, and I'm also throwing in an adapter to let you power it off a power supply (Can be powered off Cioks DC7, Strymon, True Tone CS6 all work off a 12v power outlet) Add postage for £5, or collect in Belfast. Perfect cosmetic condition exactly as when I received it, just with some velcro on the bottom. In their own words: The Small Trees (TSTs) is an all valve, Class A clean boost, and put simply – it makes things better. Based around a single ECC82, TSTs is comprised of two stages – the first stage providing 16dB of clean boost, the second, a valve line driver. Essentially TSTs is the ‘Green’ side of TBTs, housed in a smaller enclosure and powered via a 12V adaptor. ‘What’s the point, though?’, you cry. Well, enough TBTs users contacted me to say they have found the green side invaluable as a guitar and bass front end, that after the umpteenth email it seemed sensible for us to provide it as a stand alone. Most musicians I know are searching for that magical lift to their sound, a sprinkling of fairy dust which creates its own space in a mix or even just makes their instrument more fun to listen to night after night. That is what TSTs does. In fact, having it in circuit sounds so much better than bypass that I have witnessed guitarists leave it on all gig and just ride the Gain knob with their foot, pushing the level when needed. As you would expect TSTs are hand built with just the same love and care at our workshop in West London as all of our gear. This care and craft pervade the influence TSTs has on any signal which passes through it, which in turn testifies to the time and effort spent testing and comparing components and circuit tweaks. Whether you need to create an exciting DI guitar sound in the studio, bathe a bass signal in harmonics or enliven the output of a soft synth or sampler, TSTs will make your ears smile.

This is still available - has seen some use in it's extended stay, but ultimately still looking to move it on. Still interested in trades too - Darkglass Amps, Barefaced Speakers, and R*ckenbacker Basses, Fender Precision (or similar) Basses...etc. But try me if you have something else. I'm generally a sucker for oddballs.

Relisting this as the last buyer (not from Basschat) dropped off the radar. You know what this is - one of the most fantastic mono-synths ever made. Absolutely wonderful sounding instrument capable of all manner of sounds and timbres. In full working condition - recently given a full service and tuning from the Moog service department in London. The left-hand-side by the mod/pitch wheels has some wear from use, but this could easily touched up with some furniture polish (I will try get a better picture). Comes with the official Moog ATA road case, which is a little dented but protective enough to ensure safety in transport, and would enable me to ship the synth at the buyer's cost if required. Looks like it'll be about £60 in the UK - can get a more detailed quote if needed. I also make regular trips to London so can possibly arrange collection/delivery there too if things align.

For sale is a brand new Compressor pedal from Collaboration Devices. - £190 shipping to UK included. SOLD It's a great sounding and versatile box capable of achieving all manner fo compression sounds, from its simple feature set of "Comp Level" (which is compression amount), "Comp Blend" (allowing you to blend in a parallel dry signal, restoring the attack and dynamics which can be lost with more extreme compression settings), and "Make Up" (allowing for some serious boost if needed). Alongside this is the Saturation control that is footswitchable and blends in a further parallel channel of overdrive of distortion. There is an internal trimmer that controls the gain of this, allowing for everything from slight hair all the way up to full distortion (amazing range). At low settings it makes for a perfect always on grit, or you can be more extreme and using as it a serious mix-slicing distortion. The pedal is in perfect working condition, and has only seen a limited amount of studio use. There are a couple of chips in the paintwork on the bottom (seen in the photos), which are from the pedal being stacked atop a couple others (whoops). The pedal comes with all it's original goodies, including two stickers. In the words of Collaboration Devices: "My take on the classic VCA buss compressor. I love running it at the very end of my mono signal chain, right before stereo effects to glue my gain stage. It’s also fantastic after mono delay, reverb, and modulation. I’ve added a parallel gain stage that interacts with the compressor to give you a pretty unique sub layer of saturation. I would describe it as having a top boost AC30 in parallel with your compressed signal. Add a little to give your leads a boost, or crank it to add another overdrive to your gain stage. Dimensions: 4.75” x 3.75” x 2.5” Power: 9v only, 40ma draw"

Good luck with the VT1 - wonderful preamps. The AMT Bricks have had my interest too. They don't have a DI, but at around 175 Euro (so about £145) you have the option of an Orange style or Alembic (which itself is fender based) style valve preamp. There are limited reviews, but all I've read have been positive.

I may be mistaken, but from what I understand the OriginAL only uses the valve for the overdrive circuit, so it isn't quite a valve/tube preamp in the same sense of the Noble. I've had a quick play around with one on a single occasion and liked it - though the experience would suggest the valve is only used for the overdrive. Overall, the pedal sounds good and the EQ is very versatile, but it certainly doesn't deliver a "valve-y" tone if that's what you're after. Worth bearing in mind that the Shift Line Olympic pre is only £350 posted and has a remarkable feature set for that price, and the couple of pedals I have had delivered from Shift Line have all come without any import charges. I can think of no better valve DI/Preamp pedal at that price. The addition of a headphone amp and IR capabilities are huge bonuses too! However, if you'd rather keep it free of import I can heartily recommend Audio Kitchen's The Small Trees DI pedal - https://www.audiokitchen.co.uk/products/the-small-trees-di/ £500 Or if you already have a DI you like and would like to save some money the DI-less version of The Small Trees is amazing too - https://www.audiokitchen.co.uk/products/the-small-trees/ £320 The Small Trees is an amazing little box ad one that I have come to use for pretty much all recording and live gigs in recent months - it really adds that valve amp character and adds some focus to the tone - tightening the low end, and adding some "sheen" to the top end. Lending to a lovely warm and punchy tone. I find for DI and recording Purposes I really don't miss the EQ of other units. The transformer used for the DI version of The Small Trees is a beautiful example from Sowter, who's transformers have been used in some world class recording equipment and together with the tube boost circuit it makes for a wonderful signal with real weight and depth to the tone. At an extra £180 above the DI-free option, it's about the same as buying a Radial JDI. To add context I have had experience with the Noble, Reddi, Verellen Meatsmoke, and Jule Amps Monique (I'd love to try the new Simone pedal sized pre from Jule too) - ultimately I didn't keep the Noble or Reddi, and have used The Small Trees in their place, and favouring the Monique for the times I have the luxury. As a final outsider suggestion, I could see the Laney Ironheart IRT-PULSE being interesting and it's only about £150 - its a shame they don't make a Bass version as I could it see it doing amazingly well if they kept the price point and feature the same, and just tailored the IR and EQ settings for bass... Hopefully some of that proves useful.
