  1. Yes, it is, I wasn't suggesting that you made it up.
  2. Have you? Its a shame because I agree with Doctor J that they are a more elegant solution to the break angle issue
  3. Indeed. If I was building that bass though, I'd drill straight through, add bigger bolts and chuck some nuts and washers on the back too, just in case
  4. I wonder how much force there is on those two little screws?
  5. People called Romanes they go the house?
  6. No one else had favourable experience using Van Damme Tourcat?
  7. And that Marleaux ^^ has now passed on to me ( I think its the same one anyway) in another pain free transaction from Bilbo. Cheers Rob!
  8. Pretty sure it is a new nut yes. I cant make out the last digit so was hoping someone would have extra knowledge in order to date it
  9. What year is that bass? I don't think they did the maple neck and black block combo for long did they?
  10. Ooh I'd forgotten about this thread. I asked for help didn't I? Lets see what people make of this neck and tuners - any info gratefully received (cant find the pic of the whole thing and I'm away from the piece at the mo)
  11. Well that save worked out rather well
  12. If ever there was a thread that needs pics, its this one
  13. Is that not a standard Dunlop style straplock button?
  14. I think that most designs covered here except for the old standard Fender. C'mon then, show us some beautiful headstocks.....
  15. Who are the vintage Fender experts on here? hoping for a bit of help
  16. Similar story here, I gave up for a decade and sold all my gear ( that would sell anyway) and then suddenly found myself in a band again and the whole thing started again. The Gas is stronger second time around though. @Count Bassy I'm reading a bit of frustration between the lines of your OP, as I think you know the answers to the questions in it already. Not very profound, but if you enjoy playing, then play, whether that be at a 10,000 seater stadium or in your bedroom. I imagine your collection of gear is all bought and paid for, so if you dont desperately need the capital tied up in them or the space they take up, leave them be. I hope things work out for you and the future becomes a bit rosier. Though, me being an optimist, I already know it will be
  17. She should have carved a Rover 620i
  18. We do what we have to do for our kids. I know how far I'd go for mine, so if we can help someone else's then its done.
  19. I'm calling fake I'm afraid - that cant be The Maestro's work - the knobs are a matching set
  20. Looking to source some maple veneer for a bass refin, anyone know any suppliers of such? Cheers
  21. Forgive my ignorance, but what's that on the back of the headstock? First person to say 'tuners' gets a sit in the naughty corner.
  22. Does anyone know a company that does this? I could only think of Andy Baxters in Leeds but unfortunately he's stopped offering the service
  23. That looks more than good, that's excellent mate
  24. Where's the wood from if you don't mind my asking?
