Wel, as you can see its a 3 piece body underneath that ( pretty thick) lacquer. The woods themselves look ok tho? Only one way to find out I guess **edit** sheesh! whats happened to Photobucket? You know what, I'm not sure tbh. I bought one (amber) as I also was after a natural precision to match my natural jazz, but since moving the jazz on I haven't got round to doing what I was going to, which was strip the finish back. As a sort of 'see through' colour you know the body is going to be reasonable wood. Its in a case at me Mums at the minute, Ill take a few pics for you when I next go there if you like, and you can see for yourself if its do-able. They come up for sale on here from time to time

I know its not quite natural, does the 'amber' finish tickle your tastebuds?

Half Man Half Biscuit have numerous, such as 'D'ya ken Ted Moult?' and 'I hate Nerys Hughes' 'Dickie Davis Eyes' was another. -

yes yes yes they were Love fIREHOSE, it made my day when I heard that -
Reading this, I think I may be in a 'professional' band. Hadn't really thought about it before. And just for the record, I have a day job, but I'm self employed so can (almost) pick and choose when I work. We also schlepp miles around the country but its 90% done at weekends. And a 2hour drive? But a mere hop I think, even though I agree with all the sensible replies on here, if you don't give this a go, you will always be thinking 'what if....' Life is for living, and sometimes you have to give it a chance. All the very best with whatever you choose

Not last night but the night before, (wasn't able to write yesterday for being wiped out) was amazing. Cant even describe how much sweaty enjoyment was had at a sold out Half Moon in Putney. The awesome Preston Heyman joined us for a few numbers, which is always a pleasure. And on the same day as Kate Bush released her new album too. An evening I shan't forget for a long, long time.

Ritter Bass inducted into Boston Museum of Fine Art
sprocketflup replied to TheGreek's topic in General Discussion
Not a fan of singlecuts as a rule, but that is rather lovely. Do you think the museum paid for it? Or is it on 'permanent loan' as a badge of honour sort of thing? -
We have our very own KB trib bassist right here among our own...
We do indeed, and Cloudbusting also do the Ninth Wave in its entirety from time to time, not an easy task I can tell you. Heres a vid of one of her slightly less well known songs ( not from the Ninth Wave) which we performed with members of the London Bulgarian Choir, and a few musicians from Mad Dog McCrea, if you should be so interested like. Was lots of fun to do **post edited with correct embed code, thanks to the BC-ers whose posts appear odd now ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z618ynL2U5s

Who Regularly Gigs With CHEAPEST Bass?
sprocketflup replied to thebrig's topic in General Discussion
Nice one . Interesting that some have found Harley Bentons to be heavy - my Prog 5 fretless weighs 8lbs dead. I also have a HB shorty P that only weighs 6 3/4lbs! That was a bit pricier though and cost a princely £70 delivered
MY jb75 was seventeen pounds. It started to cut my arm off after two songs. Incredibly heavy bass -

Who Regularly Gigs With CHEAPEST Bass?
sprocketflup replied to thebrig's topic in General Discussion
I have gigged a harley benton, the sound is great but the weight is a bit too much for continued use.
Me too! That thing could have anchored the Queen Mary. My current main gig bass cost me less than £100. Also my original fretless was a £75 Westfield 5 string that I defretted with a shovel, gigged it for a couple of years before replacing it, it still lives in my loft just in case a future relative needs a story for Ebaying it after my demise. -
Any advances on a lint free cloth?

I recently took a step into the unknown and bought a second hand EUB from a fellow BCer. Wonderful bit of kit. For my band, theres a few songs where I use a bow, but mostly its plucked. As a beginner to the bow I naturally over did the rosin when first learning, and now my strings are sticky. Id like to clean it off as I'm finding the strings sticking to my hand and then twanging back when I'm playing without the bow, whats the best product for getting them back to non stickiness please? cheers

Serious radius on that fingerboard.......errr.....finger...ingot

Id tend to agree with Roland Rock, in as much as the Shed I feel never seems to get much of a crowd in, I played my very first gig there over twenty years ago and it was much the same. Don't et it downhearten you too much, it happens to most bands at some point. Ive played gigs where the bar staff outnumber the punters, I'm sure a lot of us have. But then the next gig its heaving. Sometimes theres no accounting for it

We are just a pub band, and we are playing on the radio live!
sprocketflup replied to thebrig's topic in General Discussion
...honestly, itll be a breeze. The techs and producers, even the man himself are so used to people being nervous that they will be very accommodating. And as said, its just you guys and a few other folk in a studio. Just try not to say f***, s*** or b*******.
