1. Had a blast at the 'debutt' gig of That 70's Band, hot and sweaty and lots of fun and raised lots of money for charidee mate, so Im told. Now to find some paid gigs lol

6. Is that not a similar bass in your avatar?
7. Is the bass in your avatar not yours then?
8. South Devon Evil, not too far from Mansons and even they didn't have anything short last time I was in
9.
This is what I would suggest also. The problem with buying an el-cheapo short scale is the same as buying an el-cheapo 34" scale. If it is crap it will put you off playing it! I used to custom build short scales and there is a lot more to them than just being a shorter version of their longer siblings.
the capo suggestion sounds good. You say theres more to a shorty than shortness Mr Rose, such as what please mate?
10. Ive never had the chance to have a go on a short scale bass, but as my preference seems to be for slim necks and narrow string spacings, I think Id like to try one. There aren't many music shops in my vicinity, even fewer that have more than one 'token' bass guitars in stock, and the chances of them having summat short is practically nil. So that's that option closed then. Im not the flushest of folks, so thought Id order one of these - http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbp90bk_shortscale_ebass.htm Its short scale, its dirt cheap, it doesn't have my favoured PJ pup setup, but one cant have everything. Can anyone see any obvious flaws in my cunning plan?

15. Hello, thought Id revisit this thread to give an update. I started on the cod liver oil shortly after posting, and then switched over to Glucosamine Sulphate. I haveno idea if its doing me any good, but I have managed to get rid of the pain by doing some vigorous stretching exercises once a day for a couple of weeks. I mean really going to town on the hands and wrists. Result - pain gone and hasn't been back since. So far anyway. Unfortunately for me I wasn't able to continue with any stretches as I fell off a ladder and have messed up some bones in my hand, got some surgery coming up soon to hopefully fix that. Hasn't stopped me playing tho I hope the other posters in this thread have had some good results in sorting their problems?
16. another vote for Strawberries and MGE here Someone said up there that The Damned are the band they've seen live the most, well thatd be because they are fecking everywhere lol
17. Weve all had bad uns mate, chalk em up to experience, have a beer and move on to the next. always onwards and upwards, and chances are a lot of folk probably didn't even notice
18.
Is anybody really that gullable?
If you really want to know the answer to this then send £3000 to me, PM me for my painpal address
19.
Not quite in your league Pete but I played a gig with raging flu back in 87, I mean the real thing and not just a bad cold. I had a temperature of 101 and should have been in bed, but it was a Saturday night headline in London and there's no way I was going to see the band pulled. I got through that gig on the power of lemsip and adrenaline, walked off stage and virtually passed out into the arms of my roadie spent the next 4 days welded to my mattress.
Beaten to it, ive also played with the full on flu, where I was struggling to hit the right notes coz I was shaking so much. Worst gig ive ever played, luckily for me there was a pillar next to my rig so I let it keep me upright for most of the night. I fell off a ladder in January and have spannered up my fretting hand, very painful to play, specially fretless but ive still gigged with it. the audience just think im really getting into it when im grimacing with pain lol. Got an appointment to see a surgeon on Monday at last, so hopefully get it sorted out soon
20. Looks like we're all stumped with that one ^^^^
