  1. Went into a music shop in Cov years ago for a set of strings and walked out with a six string bass. I don't actualy remember if I got the strings I needed
  2. useful for if should ever find oneself up sh*t creek
  3. Bought a fretless neck off the Boy, To echo what has been said above, packaged well and good comms throughout, nice one mate
  4. Like OMG that is like soooooooo last century dooood ^^
  5. Cant see a problem meslef, my current fretless has them, but that's because its a converted scaffolding plank, I try to play with my eyes closed anyways to practice my intonation so it doesn't make a shred of difference. having spent a bit of time with a tuner ive realised that the lines mostly don't correspond to correct pitching anyway lol
  6. seeing some of the sh*te these ad agencies put out, probably toothpaste
  7. Excellent album that one, the one preceding that and the one after though are much harder work IMO. John Zorn was let loose a little to much
  8. Nuneaton? you have my sympathies
  9. How many of us had to pick up a bass and noodle to find out what they do? lol I know I did It appears I favour the FT technique, but change to anchoring when Im playing predominantly on the E string. Neither technique seems to sound any different, Im muting equally with each. Horses for courses?
  10. I did come over a bit faint whilst writing that spec, ill admit
  11. Fender body Volkswagen Beetle neck Hewlett Packard tuners Lego bridge I Cant Believe Its Not Butter pickguard Anne Summers strngs Stevie Wonder paintjob
  12. Love some of the shapes he puts out, but as said wouldn't buy one due to the known quality issues. And I wish (see what he did there) that he would apply some of his 'different shaped wierdness' to that tedious headstock design
  13. Ive often wondered this. Learnt summat today. I love this place
  14. I pretty much exclusively play flats these days to get rid of the finger noise, I can still get a reasonably trebly brightness with them. easier on teh fingertips too. Don't think Ill be going back to rounds anytime soon
  15. Well, as we all know the dreaded holiday will soon be here, and I know my better half will be asking me what id like.... Ive recently had my first foray into the world of fretless, so would like to explore that. Im a fan of the Jon Liebman/Hal Leonard bass aerobics books, so can anyone recommend a decent fretless technique book along those lines? much appreciated
  16. Righty-o Ive updated to IE 11 it seems to have solved the issue of the dropdown menu However, now my left arm has stopped working, and every time I try to go for a wee, my pointing device is disabled. Oh, hang on, that last one might be the twenty years of marriage
  17. Ive done it again, told a porky I mean, im on Windows 7, as Ive just found out by going to the Microsoft site doh! Ill see what updates there are for this and report back
  18. Im on a pc, running IE10. Oddly, im on another forum that runs the same platform as this one and that ones fine :?
  19. ulp, actually Ive told a lie there, the pm and the notifications tabs do seem to work now, but the menu doesnt
  20. the buttons along the top row, i.e. pm shortcut, notifications but in particular the username dropdown menu has suddenly stopped working for me? when I click on it, it tries to display but can only manage to show the 'Whats on your mind' box. I used to use these to navigate through the forum, finding it tricky without it tbh. Ive tried clearing my cache and that hasnt worked, that's about the limit of my technical savvy tho :/
  21. Cant see anything wrong with the headstock meself . Must be lovely to have a chuffing great milling machine in your garage Blablas
