1.
Not quite in your league Pete but I played a gig with raging flu back in 87, I mean the real thing and not just a bad cold. I had a temperature of 101 and should have been in bed, but it was a Saturday night headline in London and there's no way I was going to see the band pulled. I got through that gig on the power of lemsip and adrenaline, walked off stage and virtually passed out into the arms of my roadie spent the next 4 days welded to my mattress.
Beaten to it, ive also played with the full on flu, where I was struggling to hit the right notes coz I was shaking so much. Worst gig ive ever played, luckily for me there was a pillar next to my rig so I let it keep me upright for most of the night. I fell off a ladder in January and have spannered up my fretting hand, very painful to play, specially fretless but ive still gigged with it. the audience just think im really getting into it when im grimacing with pain lol. Got an appointment to see a surgeon on Monday at last, so hopefully get it sorted out soon
2. Looks like we're all stumped with that one ^^^^

" Its on America's tortured brow... " Life on Mars - David Bowie
or 'Ello John, gotta new motor?' by Alexie Sayle

6. Del palmer seemed a bit miffed with the whole affair on his FB page.....or is that just a ruse?
7. get a sax player in and do Steppenwolf. And another vote for the HLL version of quark strangeness and Charm, My favourite album tho is Chronicles of the Black sword, so do that. All of it please.
8. I was told that I was a fool for selling a Guild for the price I did as there was one on ebay for nearly twice the price. This was well over a year ago, and the Guild on ebay is still being advertised for its ridiculous price....... Value is all about what someone is willing toupee....
9. Ive been having a bit of bother with the repetitive bassline in Boogie Oogie Oogie, but found that a good stretch before playing it seems to help with the pain
10. well done mate heres to many more Threads like this are great, we never stop learning, I myself have only very recently ( i.e. last gig I played) learned to write my set list in a large enough font to be able to actually see it whilst on stage. Marker pens on multiple sheets of paper are the way forward All the best, I hope we share a stage one day
11. Just learning it ( or an approximation of it) for a function gig. What a fun and funky little tune, I wonder who wrote the bassline? That is all. As you were

13.
The bass I bought a few weeks ago is at #2 John
and how are you finding it?
14.
A question if I may, why do you close your eyes and play in the dark.... Surely just one would do the job
He's scared of the dark

16. I exclusively play flats now on all my basses, fretted or not. <saladfingers> "Its a treat for the fingerrrrrrsss" </saladfingers>

18. warwick thumb 4 for me too. Lusted after one for ages, and when I finally got one, even though i tried as much as I could, just couldn't get on with it. Still think its a beautiful bass tho
19. Not played without a set list, but as I get older I struggle to see them more lol must start writing them out in marker pen
20. Although I haven't bought it from matt, he was a great help in sorting me out with some info on a book I needed from the States - many thanks for the help Matt. Top BCer
21. I have a prob at the minute where everytime i want to make a new 'saved search' it wont let me, tells me that i have exceeded the maximum number of saved searches. So I deleted a load, and now only have a few but it still wont let me save a new one. Ebay gets on my t*ts sometimes

23. I can see that the board itself is unlined, but does it have any side dots on the neck or anything?
24. Im thinking that lighter guage strings might help, but as I like to use flatwounds Im not sure how light they go tbh
