Glad that you are possibly one of the "good ones" who really care about sound. I really do believe that some guys (at the smaller venues) just end up at the desk because it's a way to get a few extra quid and don't really understand, or care to understand, what makes for a good sound in a room. We need more passionate people!

I love it, sold all other octavers after I got this one. The tracking is the best by far, better than the Aguilar Octamizer, which was pretty good, and light years away from the OC-2, whose tracking just drove me crazy. I find it a bit "cleaner" than the OC-2, but it's still very nice. The EBS Octabass was my favourite together with the MarkBass, ended up selling it purely because the MarkBass is nearly flawless in tracking, but the EBS is a really cool sounding octaver too, and also very good tracking (just not as good as the MB). I get it to track really well even on a low E with Stingray, Jazz (with J-Retro) and Precision... At the low E it glitches if sustained, but the G can be held pretty well, and lower. The OC2 would go mental below A is held for more than a fraction of a second. The super booster pedal also indicated in the manual a supply of 12V and something crazy like that for the current, but it actually uses 60mA. (actually, the superbooster also works very well at 9V!) edit: a quick check reveals it needs 600mA (it's a valve compressor)... so anything above that and you'll be ok.

Brass and woodwind players don't engage??? But they do!!! Seriously, covers band? A regular player and not just a quick dep for one night? Lose the stands.
