Note that the qtron bypassed will not invert the signal so without it engaged you will have the same trouble you're having now with your blend...
I know, I used to use both at the same time for a truly burpy sound. That was my "Sir Psycho Sexy" sound in the RHCP tribute band, and I loved seeing people look in wonder "what is that??" during sound I recently went to just Bassballs to make some space... but hey, maybe it was not meant to be!
 2. aha, that makes sense, as I used it in LP mode. It does bother me because by itself the blended sound is difficult to use. But I might just add a micro QTron again, since I love that pedal anyway. We will see
 3.
Hi there, Newbie round here looking for a 5 on a budget. Heard good things about these so might be tempted. Is there a case in the deal?
PM´d
 4. Ah! pity! Thanks for saving me the time to test it A while ago I put an EHX bassballs AND an EHX micro Q-Tron together in the loop, and I don't remember noticing issues, so maybe the micro QTron also inverts the phase. I liked those two pedals together for a "burpy" RHCP Sir Psycho Sexy kind of sound. We should start a thread to indicate which pedals invert the phase.
 5. I tend to bid my max as late as possible. Unless there is a "buy it now" that is higher than what i want to pay. In that case I may bid early just to remove the BIN.
 6.
except if all it needed was a decent set up, I'm sure prior to selling it it could have got a decent set up....
yeah, it always makes me smile when someone tries to sell you something "oh, yeah, X does not work, but all it needs is this £2 part and you are sorted". Well, how about you sort it first, since it's so easy, and then we talk?
 7. Nice bass. I like mine a lot. I agree with the electronics not been the best. I find the pickups a bit polite. However I have bought replacement pickups months ago and I even have a John East J-Retro preamp that will go in there... but I haven't yet bothered to do it. That says that even 'though the pickups could be better, they are not bad at all. Lovely bass for the money.
 8. Well, some time later, I have to say that I'm really liking this pedal. A lot. Low gain, with the tone towards the bassy side and a Jazz bass on the bridge pickup... yum. Very creamy and thick tone that does not sound noticeably distorted in the mix. Love it. I'm thinking about buying another for my second board!
 9.
Agreed. I found that with the Deep Impact it sounds great at home but in a band setting loses a bit of the bottom end but by using a Boss LS2 I just dial in some dry signal and hey preso great synth sound with plenty of bass. Not having the problem with input signal it works just as well with my passive jazz as it does with the GB Rumour which has a really hot output. Back to the OP there are loads of great pedals you just have to find the ones you like and more importantly where you can use them to make the song better or different.
+1 for the LS-2 to mix dry signal in with some effects. I find that sometimes adding a bit of dry signal greatly improves the result.
 10.
There must be a total of 3 bass pedals that sound good to my ears - the rest sound .......well, crap - and yet I keep seeing 'em held in high esteem by some people.....(Big Muff springs to mind)..... Surely if you've got a good basic rig, a preamp, chorus and compressor that's all you need?? Am I missing something or is it just clever marketing by manufacturers?
I don't know... I find that many pedals sound good. Others I don't like... but I'm not sure they sound "bad", it's quite subjective, and I know that some of the pedals I discard as "not likeable" can sound good in the band mix, since I see bands using them live... As for "all you need is"... well, I don't think we all have the same needs. If you play rock covers exclusively you could probably do without an envelope filter of some sort... but I can't. I must have one *at least*, and I do not use chorus at all (I do have a phaser 'though). I use 2-3 dirt pedals too. But no compressor in my board. Funny, eh?
 11.
Just to extract one highlight from that tb thread that you linked, Neutrik say their jacks are 6.29mm (according to the technical drawing download available from http://www.neutrik.c.../px-series/np2x). So if these differences matter, then there seems to be more choice than simply 6 or 6.35.
6.29 with what tolerances? And the tolerances are symmetric or asymmetric? I bet that from any one manufacturer you have a wide (tolerable) range, since the accuracy necessary is not tremendous. I'd stay away from those very tight Planet Waves cables, 'though. Nice and tight, but not very nice for the socket over time and it's not necessary to be so tight. I've been using Neutrik plugs for as long as I can remember and they work very well in every instrument I've had. To the OP: yup, like others said, I'd just install a new socket. No point having and unreliable socket. They are cheap and easy to install. Good luck!
 12.
Hmmfff. I want this but have no cash. Please have a bump in the hope that someone with taste AND cash will see it and put me out of my misery....
13. I was trying to blend my EHX Bassballs with some clean signal, like I do with several other pedals using a Boss LS-2. But with this pedal it seems that the output is severely decreased and sounds... "funny". So I suspect that the effected and dry signals are not in phase. A quick google search indicates that this is not a very rare occurrence. I should be able to cure it simply by adding a patch cable that swap the two wires of the output of the EHX, right?

 19.
did an audition for a function band once for some guys and was told in the emails back and forth that i'd be there for about an hour turned up at the audition and was imidiately asked to set up 'great' i thought i'll be in and done quickly and not have to sit around waiting for the other guys to finish, so i get into the audition and play through the songs and all is well the guys are ok not great but ok and as i'm packing away the singer comes up to me and says 'oh do you have to be somewhere after this' and i without thinking said oh no sorry i just thought we were done 'no we'd like you to stay if thats ok' so i put my gear back up and another guitarist comes in and sets up and off we go again turns out they hadn't had any replies from any other bass players and were just expecting me to fill in for free so that they could audition all of their 8 guitarists that had replied needless to say i didnt stay very long after i found out
I tried to read what you wrote three times, but I always run out of air when I'm the point where they ask you whether you could stay. Here's some spare punctuation marks for you: ..,..,.,.,.,..,.,.,,,,,,..,,.,,.,.,.,..,.,,,,,.,,,.,.,.,,,.,.,,.,..,.,.,,.,.,.,.,,..... Don't be shy, they're free
 20.
By contrast, if one lives in suburbia, there are buses and trains. Marvellous things - not as cheap per mile a s a private car, but then one doesn't have to front up thousands in the first place.
ideally. But reality often hits you in the face if you try to use public transport. One example: I often have to go from where I live, North of Edinburgh, to another location, also North of Edinburgh. It's close, but not close enough to walk, and certainly not if you have to carry something large or heavy. By car it's about 10-12min. By bus? Usually over an hour. Why? Because I have to take a bus into the city centre, and then another from there. There used to be a bus that connected me, but it stopped after 6.30pm. Now even that is gone. In Edinburgh, over the past few years they have revamped the bus lines removing peripheral services and making them more radial, and often lines that went across the centre now they stop there, so you may have to take two buses (with subsequent wait in the middle) to carry on. The thing is public transport in every British city I have been in is not very good. I would love to see a better coverage. Even if frequency has to be reduced, having something like "bustracker" that allows you to know when any given bus will pass by any given stop reduces the waits and allows you to plan your journeys much better. But the coverage is generally poor, unless you just want to go to the city centre and back. What gets me is that 12 years ago, the service was better, and as the pressure to get people to use the public transport increases the service becomes worse. It seems to me they worked out that say 70% of the users travel in and out the centre, so they can improve that, have a majority of users happy, and forget about the remaining 30%. Or something along those lines.
 21.
Surely the real fact is that we should all be driving electric cars by now. And the bods should be making life hard for petrol users.
But I am not sure we are prepared for that. Let's see. Tomorrow everybody in the north of Edinburgh buys a new electric car. We all charge it at night at home. Oh wait, we don't have power points yet... but let's assume they could be installed overninght too. What happens about the extra electricity demand? Are our lines ready for that? I suspect not.
