Personally I'd stay away from DH Gate, purely because it's a bit of a lottery. I'd go with some of the usual cheaper suspects that are known to be generally decent: Squier, Harley Benton, Westfield, SX...

Marketplace: anybody using dropbox links to display images?
mcnach posted a question in Site Issues and Questions
I've put a few pedals for sale, but none of them show a thumbnail and at least some of them fail to display the images in the post itself. I've been using this method for as long as I can remember, I have no idea why it's not working now. I can't be the only one using Dropbox. Has anybody else found issues? Using Chrome browser, Windows 11/10 (different computers). -

This is an analog unit whose primary function is to simulate a speaker cabinet when going direct to desk. This is particularly useful if using overdrive/distortion. It also functions as a headphone amp with an additional AUX input that allows you to play along to other sources, and it is also a DI box with a balanced XLR output in addition to the standard 6.3mm output and a 'through' output that bypasses the simulation. Price includes UK postake. I can insert YouTube videos, but not dropbox links to my own pictures... what kind of sorcery gone wrong is this???

It should work. I wrapped an EB-0 pickup in matt black vinyl with the help of a hair dryer. It took 5 minutes.

I was tempted too, but it was not available at the time and I bought the Joyo MA-10B, which lacks the bluetooth but looks a bit prettier I really like it and use it regularly. It's a great little box to have around for anywhere practice. I don't expect the jamster to be much different.

Did you follow the instructions for fitting? I had about, hmm, zero issues with them, and I've had a few. Make sure the strings are not sticking at the nut (lubricate if necessary, soft pencil works well, graphite), and adding a -spot- of grease on the washer also helps. It's a very simple system, just make sure you remove friction as much as you can and it should work reliably.

No, they also get all those moments in between songs and when the singer is trying to introduce the next song.

always late to the party, me...

Excuses. Get yourself one of these, man (I mean the keytar, but if you can afford a Stevie that could work well too)
-
With a soundperson at the desk, no problem. They can adjust on the go and get a decent mix by the end of the first song. However, if the band is doing their sound themselves... a linecheck is nowhere near enough: it only tells you you've got a reasonable signal but nothing about the mix. Puerile egos are always an optional bonus
-
option #2, no question Sure, keep it short etc, but you've got to make sure you have a reasonably balanced mix somehow. I'd argue is far less professional to sound like crap.

Did you try other basses, to make sure it's not the amp? -
I've put up with more annoying bandmates for a lot less money...

Now try a bass wah between the overdrive and the chorus. Just make sure you cancel all appointments for the rest of the day, it can be addictive

One alternative -not for everybody but it's an alternative that I have used as it doesn't bother me- is to get a pickguard made with a P route on it at the right spot. Then just carefully chisel away enough wood to allow the P pickup to fit, using the pickguard as a template to mark where the pickup will go. If you like how the bass feels etc...
-
Why would it sound like a P? The pickup is not where a Precision pickup would be, so no, it won't. It will sound like a Stingray, with fewer tonal options, but still very much a Stingray type of sound. (My 2002 EBMM Stingray has a preamp bypass switch now, I'm not talking hypotheticals. I thought I'd add this before we get any of the "the MM pickup needs a preamp, it'll be too quiet on its own" BS )
