Bump for pics, also I've put it back in a 2u rack case. It's better suited to the amp and makes it more manageable. The case is missing a foot, Spider sent me a replacement but it was the wrong size so I've just left it. The other flight case is available in a separate sale if anyone wants it though. If you're looking at this, there's a pretty good chance you'll know what it is. Quite rare, 1x12 EV driver, varnished wooden case, sounds great. Selling this one on behalf of my dad, he's ran it for the last 15 years or so without fault, and it's recently had a service so is in tip top condition internally. Externally it has been used for a living, I'm going to do some cleaning up of the case itself, but it does have some marks on there and one or two of the corners are missing, but in no way does it affect the way this thing sounds. If I had the space / money for it, I'd have it myself! £350 from Rochdale, Lancs takes it.

As it says on the tin really. I'm selling a Peavey CS1000 power amp. It sounds fine, and powers up and I've gigged it a couple of times. The issue lies somewhere inside. It gets to a point where it gets warm, and one channel starts to lose volume and trips the thermal protection (hence the losing volume). It only does this whilst DDT is activated. However, when my amp tech turned DDT off, he said that hell started to break loose with sparks flying and such. From what he was saying, it could be something or nothing, but the amp ran my subs which I've since upgraded to an active sub, so I just want it out of the way. £50 from Rochdale, Lancs takes it.

Hartke HX115 HyDrive Cab with Roqsolid cover
goblin replied to goblin's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale

I'm selling my Hartke 1x15 HyDrive cab. I've had it for less than a year and it's absolutely great, in pristine condition. Only reason for sale is due to the downsizing on my gear, and I'm going down the 2 1x12 cab route. But before I can do that, this needs to go. It has a fitted Roqsolid cover as well, worth £50 alone. The cover shows some marks from gigs, as it has worked for a living this cab, but at least it's the cover that's taken the beating and not the cab! I'm also selling the LH1000 head which is designed to go with these HyDrive cabinets, so I'd be willing to do some sort of deal on the pair together, if there're any takers. £350 collected from Rochdale, Lancs. However, I'm driving up and down the country a lot lately, so I can arrange to meet part way too!

These are great amps these, but I've just decided to lighten my rig a bit and as great as it sounds, I don't need to amount of power this thing puts out. It's a Hartke LH1000 head, 1000 watts at 4ohm (1100 watts bridged). Built like a tank and has a very good, open sound. It's really easy to use with 5 knobs, one of which being volume! Then a 3 band EQ and a balance knob to bia between cabs, if you wish to do so. It's served me well over the last year or so, and I'll miss it, but it's just surplus to requirements at the moment and I'd rather it go to a home where it'd be used well. Included in the sale is also a 2U rack case for the amp. £300 collected from Rochdale, Lancs. I can look into courier too but it'd be heavy!

Most recent ones of me. Nothing's really changed I guess -

Pedal board and both amp heads are fully flight cased. Cabs just have Roqsolid covers. Basses are either in a Mono M80 or a Hiscox (depends what they're being loaded into!) Then I've got one of those aluminium B&Q cases for bits like my iPad clamp, leads, spares etc. It's held together with gaffer, but does the job!

If you go on musicnotes.com, there's a transcription there. Not sure how good it is, but the first page looks pretty accurate to me. It's not a song I like playing to be honest, but soon I'll be playing it on a weekly basis, so godda get it nailed! The other way as others have said is to simply listen to it over and over again. I always learn things in sections; it's never good to just sit and play it all the way through as you'll find yourself making the same mistakes, and learning the mistakes instead of what you're actually meant to play.
-
It doesn't look like an FX chain that's causing the issue, or it shouldn't be anyway. Do the usual thing of checking each pedal individually though, check leads and slowly build up the chain and see where the change may occur. As for preamps, I've just started using an MXR M80+ and I can't fault it. For the money, you really can't argue. I think there's also one for sale on here the moment too!

Sold a pedal to Jack, no issues at all. Great comms and swift, easy payment.

I don't normally post vids up of my playing... usually because I don't tend to have any, and I sometimes ask myself whether anyone really wants to hear me covering something that many other bassists on the interweb have also covered too. But still, this is a short snippet from a recent rehearsal for my end of degree, assessed band performance. Taken from The Chicken http://instagram.com/p/oiqGuiyJsy/

Update! Here's mine as it stands now (minus power supply and leads). Rear right of the board is my Sennheiser wireless receiver (legal), which is wired to the A side of the A/B box. Then the signal link is as an order on the board, TU3 being first, MXR is last. I've had to do a couple of little tweaks to make life easier, first one is a side to straight adaptor for the other side of the AB box. Hosa, so it's pretty decent quality for the money, and I can just plug my lead in for when I'm not on wireless, without having to lift any pedals out of the foam. I've got an Artec power block on order now, so all the pedals on 9v will run off it, and I've got one with a 12v out at 300mA, so with a polarity reverser, I can also power the wireless receiver too. Result!

Acoustic Control Corp from the 60's , 70's and 80's
goblin replied to Chimike's topic in Gear Gallery
I have a love of ACC gear! I used to run a 470 with a Paulman 4x10 cab. Moved it on because I couldn't get the cab into the back of a VW Polo We've got an Acoustic Model 120 at home though, recently had a service and sounds great! -
I run a '97 US L2500 as my main bass - can't fault it at all. I prefer playing it to the Wal! I've played Tributes before, and for the money, out of the box, you can't really complain. A bass is only really as good as the setup though, there are some great basses out there let down by shoddy setups and such. The things I like about mine are that, it sounds good. I mean, REALLY good. I leave the EQ on my amp and MXR on flat and haven't yet had issues getting a sound suitable for a song out of it. Last night's gig was cab-less, so I was running straight from the M80+ to the desk, and it sounded absolutely fantastic through the PA on it's own. It also looks great, they're real head turners, but they're not ostentatious or flashy. People in the know, know exactly what it is and how good a product it is. Those who aren't in the know and are only interested in a 'big' brand, haven't a clue. That's fine by me. Value for money - what can I say? Mine cost me less than £1000. I've played Fenders and such for more than that, which I wouldn't trade it for. Then there's exclusivity, in the UK, they're not overly common. I still see it as a nice surprise to see another one at a gig somewhere, especially a US model. My recommendation is to go for one, you won't regret it, and if you do? It'll easily sell on.
-
You can get an decent middle aged Warwick for that, if you're lucky you might be able to snip a USA G&L too, but you'd be pushing it there! You'd be right at the top end of your budget if you did!
-
Muzz, I've got my moulds now
-
Fingers crossed, if it's the same guy as usual at the Cavern Club ( nice Chinese fella ), then you'll be alright in there. No idea how often the guy at the pub does it, but if you see double denim, panic
-
I've recently fancied the look of a Ray, so tried a 5 stringer for a recent gig. Played great, and it sounded good too, but I just couldn't get a sound that I liked for the gig out of one. The twin humbucker layout on my G&L is much better, and when I want to, I can easily get a Stingray sound from it, plus much, much more!
