1. I'm selling my Eastcoast / Stagg ¾ EUB. Mint condition and barely used, also has the additional shoulder and stand off (I always preferred it without) and it's original gig bag. Plays and sounds great, but I'm not using it enough and my Fretless makes exactly the same sound if I want it to. I want £250 ONO, based in Rochdale by weekend and Barnsley during the week. I'll get pics up when I get a chance
2. Can't think of anywhere local Mark, I've the same issues! I've ended up moving to Elixir Nanowebs, they sound fantastic and last for ages so may be worth a look.
3. Yep, still wasn't struck to be honest. I don't particularly like the aesthetics of them which probably doesn't help
4. I've lost a string twice over the last few years. One was a low B which gave up and uncoiled itself, then this time last year I lost a D with a ping mid (assessed) gig. Old strings and I did a bend, kinda asked for it really
5. I use the Hartke's big brother, the LH1000 which I run at 4ohms, and without PA support with two cabs I rarely turn up above 3. I wouldn't worry too much about running it with one of the 8ohm cabs, it'll still be plenty loud enough
6. I like the feel of Elixir Nanowebs, I think I've got nickels (bass came with them so I'm not sure!). They're a lot better than the last set of coated strings I tried (Roto Nexus)
7. And I'm a short arse...bugger!
8. Has anyone ever used these? I'm wondering what they're like as I'm after something a bit more forgiving than a standard leather strap. I've tried a Bass Collection comfort strap before, but they feel a bit on the cheap side, and there's apparently the issue with the plastic snapping on them (and my basses ain't light) I'm just looking for some thoughts really.
9. Well it's still impressing everyone who sees it I've already noticed it's fairly heavy though! I've figured out that it's lighter in a Hiscox than it is in my leather gig bag. I've just ordered a Mono so business should resume as usual
10. I'd probably want to try another Tribute, my only experience was a bad one which didn't help. If it's good I'd consider running one for a backup as I'm not really getting on with my Jazz too much! This L2.5k is still impressing, I've not heard a bad word about it yet from those who've heard it. I'm just after a suitable gig bag for it though as in my leather bag, it's VERY heavy!
11. I'm another one in the don't lend gear camp. It gets used for jams, but again, I regulate the volume and control of the amp. Before now I've completely taped over the controls! If I'm in a situation where a band does want to use it (which I have been before), if they ask, fine, but I want a £50 deposit. If everything's fine after, they get it back and no harm done. If not, well they can go figure. It's amazing how quick their own gear can turn up! It may make me look like a bell end, but I certainly can't afford to replace anything. I had someone assume the other day that I was going to lend him my G&L at the next jam, cheeky sod! Can't be arsed taking his Stingray with him (he never does take his own bass to jams from what I've heard), with the Warwick I wasn't too fussed, with the L2.5k though... nope. Not a chance.
12. I've recently converted over to them. I've sworn by DR for the last two or so years, but I played a Jazz and Pre EB Stingray with them and they sounded and felt fantastic (I couldn't even tell they were coated!). My G&L also came with them, and again they sound and feel great. I guess only time will tell me how I get on with them in the long run.
13. I don't particularly mind the slightly understated appearance, I've struck really lucky with the appearance of this one, but it fits in well enough that I don't have to worry about it looking a bit too flash or a bit too fancy That top look superb though!
14. Oooh nice I never used to like G&L... probably because a poorly set up Tribute was the first and only one I had the displeasure of playing, and it put me off a bit!
15. Cheers guys, I still can't get over how good it is. I thought I was perfectly happy with my Warwick, gigged this one last night and only fell off a couple of times, mainly just getting used to a new instrument. It sounds so much better though. Much richer, much fatter and a lot more versatile too! I've also had a fair few comments about how good it looks! I reckon it'd look even better with gold hardware, but I imagine finding that for this bass is going to be near impossible
16. Thanks guys, and Luke, you're quite right
17. Here's my newly acquired '97 USA L2500 - love it!

19. For once I can't blame BC for my GAS, it's them bloody Facebook gear trading pages Anyway I've managed to lay my hands on a gorgeous Blueburst '97 USA G&L L2500. I'll get pics up when I can, but I'm extremely happy with it!
20. Price drop bump, now selling for £100 - need it out of the way asap.
21. If you're after a good, light 4 ohm cab, look at the Hartke HyDrive 112, 300 watts at 4ohm, little switch on the back, 300 watts at 8ohms, so you can have the best of both worlds if required
22. And another one, I bought my 115 cover second hand, though my dad's bought new before and had excellent and fast service. I ended up going to them for the cover for my 1x12, they said a ten day turn around, I ordered Sunday night and collected it the following Thursday afternoon, and the chap running it is a super friendly guy. There was a slight issue where the HX112 only has one handle, and I had holes for two handles in mine, I texted him and explained the situation and he told me to use the cover for the weekend to get me through my gigs, and then send it back to him and they'll refund the postage, then sort the issue and post it back to me FOC. Sent it back on the 11th, it was back within less than a week (although I only collected it today ) So yeah, top top marks for Roqsolid!
23. I've just got in from a masterclass with Fred Baker... He's another who makes bass solos acceptable! He's also a bloody good guitarist.
