Yeah Bubinga's a pretty heavy wood My bubinga Corvette in the leather gig bag is heavier than the Ash one in a Hiscox

I used to have one (PaulS now owns it) and loved it to bits. Sometimes I wonder if I should've sold it, but I couldn't get on with the extra scale length. They're easy to string and such and they look quite cool, and they also play and sound really well too. I'd reccommend one

It's a guitar, sorry bowt that This was bought brand new about 4 years ago and it's time to move it on as it just isn't getting used enough. It was bought for it's synth access abilities, but cases of gas have left it in the dark a bit. It's a Godin LGXT in transparent blue, it's got a silver leaf maple body with mahoghany neck and ebony fingerboard, and the headstock matches the body too. It's got a custom RMC Bridge with Pre-Amp EQ for: Acoustic Volume, Treble, Mid-Range and Bass controls and 3 outputs which are for acoustic, mix and it's 13 pin output for the Roland GK Series. It's only been gigged once or twice so as a result there's a small amount of buckle rash to the rear, and one or two very fine scratches which aren't visible unless you look for them, and it comes with it's original gig bag, tremolo bar, allen keys and tags. Collection will be preferred from either Rochdale or Barnsley, although arrangements can be made and I'm looking for offers around £1000

Having a bit of a clear out of surplus gear and will be sad to see this one go. It's a Polytone Baby Taurus 80Watt 1x8 combo, works fantastically as an acoustic amp, and it works well with my EUB too. It's in virtually mint condition, with just a couple of marks on it which have come from age, it hasn't really been used live to be fair. It's also covered in a lovely dark red / maroon vinyl. SOLD I'll add some pictures later, ideally collection is preferred, from either Rochdale or Barnsley.

I used to keep my old 4x10 in the boot after gigs if I was back late, even the head. With a couple of dehumidification packs they were fine, as far as them getting nicked goes, the car double locks so you can't just put the window through and open the door, so if they're able to get a 45kg out of the boot / side window of a VW Polo, to be honest they're more than welcome to it!

I had a similar issue too when I moved into uni accommodation, before I moved the fretted Corvette played beautifully and was perfectly set up. Neck was arrow straight, no buzzes or anything. It then came to my first uni bass lesson 3 weeks after I moved in (Fred Baker if anyone's interested) and he did his usual check over his pupil's instrument, new buzz which I'd commented on, and choking strings in the dusty area. Then we spotted a bow in the dusty end of the neck Got it sorted with a tweak on the truss rod, it took more turning than we'd have liked, and once it's resettled it could do with another quarter turn, but then it should be fine. If it hasn't been too long, it shouldn't be an issue, I've moved out of there and into an apartment now which is a lot dryer and stable climate wise, and things seem to have settled. Best thing to do is get a dehumidifier and keep the rads on a low temperature.

Depends on the gig If I'm on 2 basses and pedal board, 2 2 metre leads going into an AB box, then a 6 metre or an 8 metre (that needs reterminating though) lead. I have a nice choice

I prefer to have mine just behind the dot, unlined with tiny dots on the side, so you don't look much anyway. It works well for me, although it makes lined fretless more confusing for me!

We were playing an outdoor gig once with my old band, and I had to go about 4 miles in the wrong direction to go and get the drum kit from where we rehearsed (typical "Oh the 18 year old member likes to drive so we won't ask our parents for a hand" ), got there, loaded gear up and all was good, however traffic back into town was REALLY sh*te as the event we were playing was quite a biggy. Got there with not a lot of time to spare, I set up, all sounding good, guitarists set up, all sounding good, drums kinda set up but there was a noticeable lackage of sound in the cymbal department... they were still on the guitarists lawn. And since I was the one who had to cart everyone's gear around and go out of my way to drive (gig was a 10 minute walk from my house!) it was apparently my fault! We ended up playing late after getting it sorted, but that gave chance for the crowd to get better. To date I've never forgotten anything of my own

I've recently done some work with these guys due to their previous bassist moving away, however I've moved to university now so can't stay with them either, so they're looking to recruit another. If you're up for it or know anyone who may be, let them / me know via PM and I can get in touch with them, or if you want to find them on Facebook there's a link below. Must be local based (Manchester / Middleton / Rochdale etc.) http://www.facebook.com/#!/projectaura -
Awesome, just tried it and worked first time. Thanks for that!

Hey guys, I've just got Logic 8 studio, but not got an interface yet. At the moment the way I'm getting round it is using a soundcraft folio notepad mixer, and sending a stereo signal from that into the line in input on the back of the Mac. What I'm wondering is if it's possible for Logic to see that I'm using two channels on the mixer at once, and split it between two tracks on Logic, e.g imagine OHL and OHR on a drum kit, or is the hard ware not advanced enough to tell logic where it's mean to designate each track to.

I find for Corvettes that a standard P / J Hiscox does the trick really well, I get no movement at all with mine, and it'll fit virtually anything. Each of my basses will fit in there, so I'll probably stick with Hiscox. Although I also use my Warwick leather gig bag which is worth its weight in gold!

Any one know where I can get one? Long story short, a wall hanger failed and my 6er came off the wall with it, and the top part of the pot has sheared off Anyone know where I can get just that single pot and 'board it sits on? It's an EMG BT (bass / treble) stacked pot.

The smallest was with a band 4 or 5 years ago where we played for the other band and sound engineer (whom we took with us), but it was still a good gig in the end. Biggest has probably been 300 upwards, the band I've recently been playing with played the Rochdale Feel Good festival official after party, and that was a pretty packed venue. The biggest the band (before me) have done is the Manchester Christmas lights switch on - over 25,000 and I've heard that we're possibly doing it again this year.

Cheers man I'm most tempted by the EBS, but just got to wait until I've got the pennies up for it and stuff. For £30 the Chord one I got is actually pretty good. I'd rather have a multiband though! With the Trace I find the extra headroom with it being 18v a bit of a con, it still clips a lot and took quite a bit of volume out of the mix!

Yeah that was my concern too, I know a guy who makes pedals who's said he'll have a look at it / try and get it fixed for nothing more than a few beers, but if it's a much bigger issue, it's down to what it's going to cost to replace. I'd sooner head in the general direction of EBS to be honest, as I bought a cheap Chord Compressor from PMT yesterday morning just to get me through the gig (which for £30 is pretty good!) and I discovered just how nice it is to be able to chain it off my TU1000 powerwise. As for the regulated transformer, I'm not sure to be honest. Centre negative 18v, sods law says I got DC and the pedal wanted AC, or vice versa. If I bypassed, I'd still get a nice clean signal, but as soon as I kicked the effect in that's when it became an issue. The other upside is that if I just write it off and go for EBS or something, I get a bit more real estate on my pedal board!

It's not shockingly bad that strap, considering a good Levy's is around £80 and Moody straps come in at £160. Some muggins will buy them at full whack, and then sell them on at a later date for not a right lot. My moody and Levy's combined were £50, oh and I play a second hand Warwick or two
