1. Trace 250 GP7 ontop of a Warwick WCA 211 and Trace 1153 (albeit with a 300 watt eminence). With the bass it sounds as good as it looks. Think I'm gunna debadge completely though, slightly meaner look
2. Just thought I'd slip another pic of it
3. Any pics? Thinking of getting one for my 211 and AH250, once I've got the leather gig bag sorted
4. Same reason for sale as the Acoustic in my other ad, I'd downsized. This cab weighs around 50kg, which lifting into the back of a VW Polo is not my idea of fun! And it's taking up space too so has to go. Handbuilt by high end custom guitar luthier based in Huddersfield, and in the 80s he also dabbled within cabs, possibly with Matamp. The cab is a 410 with 4 16 Ohm speakers, so in laymans terms, it's 4Ohm. It's wired to give either 2 8ohm 2x10s, or 1 4Ohm 1x10, so 1 lead from amp it runs as a 4 Ohm, or 2 leads makes it 2 8Ohm 2x10s. The cab's compartmented infinite baffle construction, so it's built like a tank and would probably survive going down a flight of stairs. Driverwise it's got 3 Eminence 16 ohm eminence speakers, and a 60 Watt Celestion G10. It's loud and it sounds great. I'm looking for £70 or near offers for this, although due to the weight, I'd rather not post, although courier can be arranged at your cost, or I can possibly meet half way.
5. SOLD - Acoustic 470 Head. Had this for a couple of years now and it's served me well, only reason for sale - wanted a more compact rig and it's now sitting gathering dust. It's got a lot of power, I've never been able to find an official power rating for it, but it's VERY loud and packs a lot of punch, I know for certain it'll do 4 Ohms, but apparently they will drive down to 2 Ohms. It's got 2 channels, and can be used as a guitar amp as well, and it sounds amazing with a nice Tele going through it. It's also got a built in reverb and speed adjustable tremolo channel too. Really the only problems are that I know of from gigging with it the last couple of years are that I've never been able to get the distortion channel to work properly, and it could probably do with a service. I'm looking for £150 for it, and collection is prefered, although I can probably meet up depending on how far away it is. I'll get some pics up tomorrow.
6. Nah, the chrome twinkles In all fairness the light once caught the hardware, and it reflected the pattern of the pressing of the tone knobs onto the wood, which then led the whole bass lighting up. The photographer was kicking himself 'cause he's a Warwick fan and had never seen anything so amazing happen.
7. Cheers It looks even better under stage lighting. I'll try and get some better pics of it tomorrow.
8. I'm amazed I only found this thread today! Here's my '99 Corvette Fretless and my '00 Active Corvette Fretted (previously owned by BadBoy1984)
9. Last gig I did my dad was playing as well, so we ended up taking his Merc. Trace 1x15 and 250 head in the boot, radio mic flight case and small amp in the boot too, clipped one of the seats out and the EUB, Fretless Warwick and Martin Acoustic in hard cases went lengthways up the car, and then 3 of us, along with a shovel and bucket of grit to get us through the snow Tried getting it all in the Polo to head home afterwards, and couldn't take any passengers. Oops
10. I got a bit of drum kit in there too actually I've got most of that into a VW Polo too but without a passenger Ground clearance was a bit of an issue, and rear visibility was van driver trick - drive on mirrors. Luckily at the moment I don't have to carry everyone's gear around anymore as I left that band, so all I'm carrying now is 2 pretty compact cabs and a trace 250 head. Oh and 2 basses
11. To the top
12. Most I've ever achieved is my 4x10 cab and Acoustic head, Mesa Boogie DC5 Combo, 2 cable boxes, various stands, a pair of EV SX100+ speakers, Flightcased Mackie 1604 mixer, 4 unit rack case for the poweramps and EV controller, mic flightcase, 4 monitors, 2 guitars and 2 basses in hard cases and then me and the drummer in to a Vauxhall Agila. Pretty interesting journey that one was. Take everything SLOWLY
13. I use a Trace Rig for my double AH250 GP7 head, 300 Watt 15" trace cab and a 2x10 warwick cab. Sounds awesome! 1x15 shifts the air and gives the punch, 2x10 gives the "mwah" sound
14. Despite the snow, my only cancellation has been a band call for a show I'm playing for which was yesterday afternoon. Had no real problem getting to and from a gig last night though, although dad drove and I guess having the weight in the boot of a Merc was no bad thing. Just got back from dress rehersal for the panto i'm playing in, and got stuck on the hill going up towards where it is, then got stuck in the car park trying to park, and then coming out got really stuck and had to get an army of people to push
15. I don't use anything, anything I want to do is done with my hands The only thing I'd consider is an octave pedal, delay pedal and a compressor.
16. Bump, I'll include postage into the price now Or the usual option of collection / meeting somewhere.
17. Good Times - Chic Disco Inferno. Neither of which took particularly long, I was just bored
18.
Think that's probably where I'd go. Alternatively used Sandberg Basic (seen a few go around £4-500) - the Delano pickup seems to suit fretless nicely. Also a few CIJ Fender 62 Fretless reissues have passed through the board recently at £4-500 which would be well worth a punt.
Yeah, got my Corvette for £350 'cause the guy on ebay put "Fretless Warwick Corvette" and that was it, but we saw the 2 piece bridge and asked him for the serial number, and it was genuine German built. Bargain of the century It's certainly one of the nicest fretless basses i've ever played. If you can find one, the Guild B302F is a really nice one too!
19.
What kinda pickup have you got on you bass?
Using rotosound swingbass 66 at 95 - 35 on the Jazz, and on the Wal and Warwick they're 100 - 40. Pickups on the Jazz are bog standard Vintage 35s and the Warwick's got a pair of active EMGs. As for setting intonation, when the jazz arrived, the E strings was really dead, even new strings didn't help. I lowered the action as far as I could before I'd be getting fret buzz, and then to set the intonation you adjust the saddles (on mine it's just a case of a philips screw driver going up the bottom of the bridge). As soon as the 12th fret harmonic sounds exactly the same as the note on each string, the intonation's perfectly set
20. Second hand warwick corvette?
21. Check the set up on it as well, when I got my Tokai it was pretty dead when it came to slap, and I was worried I'd have to spend alsorts getting it up to the mark. Put a set of 35 - 95 strings on which helped, dropped the action a bit, but the magic came when I set the intonation so it was spot on. It now slaps faster than my active Warwick which is saying something!
22. Bump!
23. And one or two pics The screen does work by the way, everything is perfect on it, just cocked up with the camera
24. I've got a mate who uses fresh lemon juice on his gear, has to be said I've never known a cheapo bass have such a good looking and feeling fretboard!
25.
Would this be ok to use on a Wenge Board?
Seemed to work okay on mine Works on my Ebony boards too
