1.
O You are 100 % right, String choice is critical Which model DR strings do you use ?
On both of my 5's Fat Beams are perfect! Random comment i know but i will never understand the whole tapered B string thing! They make B strings just awful in my experience!
2. These are amazing!! I have the mahogany version and i love it!! Awesome little basses with a HUGE sound
3. Hi Im selling the Nordy pickups and pre from my Valenti 5 string jazz Pickups are single coil to suit 19mm spacing at bridge, these will not suit a fender as far as i know! Pre is 2B-4b i think and is 18volt (think it will run as 9v also) controls are volume, pan, 2 band boost and cut + passive tone control. I have decided to keep the pots and knobs so this is now Pre only hence the price drop! now £75 More info here http://www.nordstran...ups/index.shtml http://www.bassdirec...nd_Pickups.html Im looking for [s]£110[/s] £95 for the pickups including p&p [s]£100[/s] £75 for the pre posted including p&p Can do you a deal if you buy both Or im happy to trade for full sadowsky setup (pickups and pre) Cheers Chris 07974 317284
4. This looks great!!!! You my be getting a PM from me very soon! Congrats by the way!!
5. A big part of a bass having a good B string is actually down to string choice! Of course you need a well constructed instrument but i've found that finding the right string for that particular bass is crucial! The B on my sadowsky is good with Sadowsky strings but is AWESOME with DR strings!
6. here's an update on the bass build! its a slow process at the moment as we're way too busy with repair work and day jobs but i reckon it'll be finished in a few weeks
7. Ive always wanted one of these!! Quite rare to see a white one too!! very nice!!
8. I bought these last week and only just put them on my bass! They've had about 30 minutes total play time so are pretty much new! they are the Yellow versions in 45-125 guage! Trouble is i dont get on with coated strings so i'd like to re-home them if possible! Im not sure what to ask for them to be honest? :-/ Does £12 posted sound too much? Or im happy to trade for a set of equally lightly used strings Cheers Chris
9. Hi I have a set of sunbeams (45-130) and a set of low riders (45-125) i'd like to trade! Both are 5 string and brand new in their boxes! I'd like to trade for 5 string sets of high / fat beams please Or may sell for £30 each plus postage Cheers Chris 07974317284

http://www.guitarvil...il.aspx?pid=903 can you think of any other basses like that? i know alembic and status are kind of that shape but thats silly money
i would happily make you one of these [email protected] facebook.com/alpherinstruments
