1. Hi Im selling this bass for a good friend of mine! Its an all original 1979 Ibanez Musician (MC900) seen on the far right in the first pic (The bass appears slightly lighter in colour due to the lighting) Its in pretty good condition for a bass of 30+ years There are a few scuff and scrapes here and there (which is to be expected) but most if not all are located on the back of the bass, leaving the front looking lovely! Any other marks you see like the lacquer cracks on the back of the neck are purely cosmetic the whole bass is structurally sound! The electronics work great and the wiring looks like its never even been seen let alone touch or messed with! its super clean and tidy inside the cavity! I will supply a brand new Access hard case to the buyer (the case that was supplied by sadowsky when i bought my NYC) which is beautiful and has never been used as i always use gig bags my mates lookin for [s]£495[/s] now only £395 (i think he has his eye on something) cheers chris 07974 317 284
2. Wow! Thats stunning! If i had room for another sadowsky i'd love this!!
3.
You might consider Elixir strings as they don't do 5 & 6 string sets, but 4 string sets and then single B or C strings. Bit more expensive, but worth it IMO and balanced out by the extended life.
As it happens i just ordered some elixir's yesterday! really looking forward to trying them! I think i'll prefer the extra high notes to the big fat low B
4. im glad someone finally brought this subject up!! im thinking about going E-C on my Fender P5 the B string can be difficult at times and as ive always been a four string player i dont really have the need to go lower E string any string recomendations?
5. Oh and if anyone is interested in the bass feel free to contact me before it goes on ebay
6. Thanks for the info It seems the cracks on the back of the neck are not structural at all! they're Just in the lacquer i cant see anything more than superficial damage to the finish of the bass it actually plays and sounds really well! Ive never played an older instrument before so i always wondered how they'd hold up over the years
7. Thanks for that mate!! really helpful Gonna get some pics up at the weekend Its a beast of a bass!!! Just been playing it for the last hour! BOOOOOM!! Haha
8. Hey a friend of mine has an ibanez musician bass he'd like to sell and i just wondered roughly how much its worth?! From what i can make out its a 1979 model, through neck with what looks like a walnut body?? ( does that sound right?) it has 2 pickups and what looks like an active eq (5 knobs and some switches) i'll be honest its pretty beaten up! But it could be 30 + years old so i suppose that could be expected the neck seems straight and with a few tweaks on the bridge and a clean up it would probably be great .......so any advice on price? here's some pics (sorry about the quality) as you can see the main damage to the bass is on the back, the front has been preserved quite well really when i opened the metal control plate to change the battery i was surprised to see its lovely, clean, well wired in there! great!! all the electrics seem to work fine Cheers
