Thomann are usually very good - At least if it does turn out to be a dog or a Friday afternoon bass, you'll be able to return it easily enough. I bought one Fender from Thomann a while ago & yes, I got a good one, but I'm always wary with Fender. For me, try before you buy is a must. As for the model choice, I'd go for the American Standard & get a Sadowsky outboard preamp if you feel you need more tone or output. Rich.
................or for the same money you could buy a used sadowsky metro which will be miles better than anything fender could ever hope to put together!
Price drop to £1550 just to see what happens. If its still here in a while I think I'll keep it for this seasons gigs and to hell with 5 strings! Its too nice a bass to be hawking round for less than its worth- the sheer indignity of it!
I couldn't agree more mate! im stunned that this gorgeous bass hasn't sold at that price!

Hey! This is my latest sadowsky! i traded my UV70 for it! Its bloody lovely! These pics were taken really quickly so they aren't the best quality! i'll take better ones when i get some decent light The first pic is clearer but the flash from the camera makes the sunburst look way brighter than it is in the flesh, the second pic shows the colour a little more accurately! Hi In my experience with The badass 2 bridge (had one on my geddy lee that i fitted to my bravewood jazz) i found that it didnt make any difference at all, if anything i actually think the standard fender bridge was better! Im not sure if a lot of the appeal is just in the marketing? but hey if it works for you then thats great! This might cause an argument but i also think through body stringing is a joke!!! it doesn't do anything (for me anyway)
Thanks for the offer Gary, but I am way down in Cornwall. Are you and Chrisdabass both comparing them with the Squier Duncans?
im not comparing them with duncans im afraid but compared to all the other pickups ive had in my jazz basses (geddy lee, bravewood, fender MIA) the wizard 84's came out the best!

NOW SOLD Thanks for all the interest! Hey My drummers dad has asked me to help him with the sale of his westone! Pic from my phone he said he bought it quite a long time ago and as far as i know he is the second owner of the bass! it plays pretty dam well and sounds huge! I'll be honest it needs a clean, a new set of strings and a battery for the active circuit but other than those minor issues its in great shape for an instrument of this age! it comes with the hard case in the picture ive check the prices on ebay and they seem to range from a starting bid of £160 to a buy it now price of £225 i'd like to be realistic because it needs strings and a clean etc was[s] £140[/s] NOW £110 Collection only please (unless i can get my mates dad to meet you somewhere within reason) Cheers
