1. i expect it feels pretty good to have 50+ basses! ive probably had about 30 over 14 years and i once had 7 at once! personally i found it way too confusing!! i could never decide which one take out with me!! or which would do the job the best! im now down to 2 sadowskys and sometimes i still cant decide which to take lol
2. just sold him my jazz it couldn't have gone smoother! fast payment, great communication and all round top bloke! hope you enjoy your new bass mate
3.
Listen guys, it's not exactly kosher so it's not wise to go crowing about it all over the internet. Don't go and mess it up for those of us with Sadowsky's on order, eh? PM me if you really can't live without knowing.
Cheers joe! ooooh what have you ordered??
4.
Hi People, I recently took my bass into music ground in leeds to get a sadowsky pre fitted to replace the stock warwick. I was told that, despite efforts, it wasn't going to be possible because my pickups are active too and not compatible with the sadowsky pre. Is this true? My second question is does anyone know a good electronics bod around leeds/bradford. Somone made a pigs ear of replacing the electronics so i need to at least get it fixed up if i can't get the sadowsky in. Thanks for any help you can offer! N.
im sorry to say that i dont know a huge amount about electronics!! but i do know that the guys at music ground in leeds dont know their arse from their elbow!!! ive had a few coversations with them over the years and seriously its flippin shocking how useless they are.......and they always seem to look down on you like they know everything and your the idiot!!.....oooh and while im on the rant i avoid that shop like the plague because they pester you all the time to buy something but when you ask to try somethin out they're like "are you gonna buy it??" coz if your not then no you cant try it!! w***ers!!! sorry rant over
5. just done another super smooth and easy deal with Mark! cheers mate! hope you like the pedal
6.
£120 for VAT & duty !!!! How did you manage that? I thought VAT & duty were about 20% so a Sadowsky for £700 can't be bad.
hey you'll find out how if you order one i dont wanna start shouting about it lol
7.
Aww, stop it Chris! I've had Sadowsky GAS for ages & it's really starting to hurt!
you cant resist forever...............go on!!!!! lol
8. new pics of both my basses added
9.
I found that the Sadowsky outboard preamp/di pedal is an excellent solution for more than one passive bass. No need to do any wiring, just plug the bass you're using at the time in & Bob's your Auntie! I'm actually using it with my Marcus Miller Jazz as the Sadowsky sounds fuller and richer than the onboard Fender pre.
+1 for the sadowsky pre......onboard or outboard! either way i love it!!
10.
Just one superb bass. No wonder you're so pleased with it. I watched a video interview with Roger Sadowsky recently and I think he said that all the NYC basses are chambered (someone please correct me if I remembered that incorrectly). Congrats again on a great acquisition....
yeah ive watched the same video! and yeah your right they are chambered........it does seem to make a difference! in a good way too
11. Thats superb, congrats, so basically you just order it off the web site! what about shipping and taxes do u get hung for them aswell? yeah i just phoned them up....spoke to kevin about their current stock and the next day i sent them the money! this one is pretty dam close to what i would have ordered anyway so why wait 6-8 months??? shipping was about $200 (£100) i think thats fine considering it only took 3 days!! altogether in VAT and duty i paid about £120......im pretty happy with that That is a cool looking bass, what are the plastic bits around the pickups etc, there for protection? yeah there's one over each pickup, one right where you'd pop if you were slapping and one on the back of the bass to stop buckle rash! i guess they just wanna keep it looking perfect until someone buys it! these guys think of everything!! Awsome, Chris! How does it compare to your natural metro model? well its difficult to say really! its lighter and a little more resonant than the metro, the fit and finish are very similar but the NYC might just have the edge setup wise i had to slightly adjust them both a little to get them just right! there's not a huge amount in it but the NYC just has something extra and i love the rosewood board!! it even smells nice hahahahaha
12. this wont last long!! im with marcus! i bet someone takes it tonight!!
13.
Quality. How's it perform?
its awesome!! i had a little tweak with the action to get it just how i like it ...................and i love it!! its a lovely weight too....just under 8 and a half pounds cant wait to try it out properly! should be doing some recording tomorrow .....should be fun!!
14. Hey this was sent from brooklyn on tuesday and it arrived today (the natural ash one is my metro UV70) http://www.sadowsky.com/stock/view/5121.html the pictures really do not do it justice!! its fantastic!! very classy colour! im dead pleased with it!! great case too! kevin at sadowsky gave me the choice of alsorts of different cases so i went for the ACCESS hard case! he also threw in 3 sets of blue label strings!!
15. Hi My payment cleared with sadowsky NYC today so they should be shipping my bass out to me soon!! i went for a stock model because i didnt fancy waiting 8 months and it was pretty dam near what i wanted! i didnt want anything flash and fancy! just a simple, classy looking bass! here it is http://www.sadowsky.com/stock/view/5121.html i cant wait to get hold of it!! the alder/rosewood combination will be a nice contrast to the metro ash/maple that i already have!
16. both of my rays sold for around £650 both were mint and absolutely gorgeous examples (go on jobiebass you tell em!! lol) as good as rays are does anyone else find the "weak" G string sound a bit annoying? i had it on bot my rays in varying degrees (the white one was worse i think) and have noticed it on the other 3 rays ive tried too! is it just part of their sound????
17. Punch factory is considered sold until further notice
18. hey i think ive nearly secured a deal on the MIA! im now willing to split the bravewood! selling the complete neck and tuners for £200 ono and the (fully loaded) body for £260 ono personally i think thats a steal for such an amazing body!!
19. hey! ive no idea why but since gettin my sadowsky im just not using either of my compressors!! these are great units! excellent sound quality form both of them!! each pedal is in excellent condition, never gigged or abused! they have original boxes/packaging and all instructions too! if i wasn't selling my fenders (to keep my head above water with mr bank manager) i'd definately keep at least one of these pedals! trouble is i just need the cash...........so ....i'd like £55 each we can negotiate paypal and postage costs later cheers chris
20. hey personally if i had £500 to spend on a bass it would definately be secondhand! i'd go for a musicman stingray/sterling or a warwick! the warwick thumb bolt on i used to own just sold on here for just over £400 so you can get really good deals if look carefully ..................or you could buy one of my jazz basses!! both are up for £450
