It sounds fantastic! but im going back to the simplicity of passive! i have ordered a new passive stack knob control plate from the US of A..........when it gets here the j retro will be available! its in great condition and comes boxed with instructions! i'd like £110 posted ***NOW £100**** my passive plate has now turned up so the j retro is available!! paypal is accepted if we share the fees bank transfer would be great too! or just good old cash!! cheers chris
 12.
i asked on here about that & some kind soul gave me a link to a U.S. seller who does 'em-buggered it i can find it though. i also checked at my local fender dealer & he said he could order all the parts seperate from fender then assemble them for me,would cost £60-£70.i rekon that's the best idea that way its all genuine fender parts,i might even do this to my MIM 60's jazz.
i found one on ebay in the US a new fender 62 reissue one! it works out at 40 quid including shipping
 13.
cheers Chris i must admit before i put that j-retro into your jazz i was going to fit a pair of wizard 84's & a stacked knob control plate.
yeah the 84's and the stack knob plate are what ive got on my frankenstein jazz and it works really well! it seems really hard to find a control plate anywhere
 14.
Haha, since you're trying to downsize it, I suppose there's no point me offering up my Ampeg cabs then?
hhahaah just out of interest what are they mate? i currently have a deal on the table.....but ive just gotta sort out transport issues........ anyone fancy driving to devon?? lol
 15.
damn right it was mate. hope your still enjoying it.
too right i am!! its awesome! thinking of changing it back to passive now, the passive sound seems to work better with my amp for some reason? your basses look lovely by the way!
 16.
no stripe on the back of the neck just a lovely gloss finish & about the same weight as my recently departed MIA jazz
and what a lovely jazz that was
 17. thats a sweet, sweet ray!! best ive ever played nice pics man
 18.
I have a USA Jazz (2004) - Great sounding, plus some cash maybe?
hi thanks for the offer how much cash are we talkin here? i can (and already have) picked up USA jazz basses for around £500
 19.
Don't suppose you bought this off a bloke called Simon Watson did you, formerly of Nailed? Can't be that many of these floating around West Yorkshire!
nah i bought mine new from academy of sound
 20.
I've always kept an Aguilar DB924 handy - very like the original Sadowsky preamp (without the DI). Can make a good passive Jbass straight into a Marcus /Will Lee/ Vic Bailey soundalike...and you don't have to put circuitry and 9Vs into the bass. I normally prefer Fenders passive (with nickel rounds or flats) but sometimes you just need that active slam... BB
yeah i am starting to wish i'd kept hold of my sadowsky outboard pre! even my j retro is starting to sound a bit too artificial! maybe its since i got my new aguilar cab and started using my mesa head again......everything has got a hell of a lot clearer! i had been playin through a crappy little combo which you couldn't really tell what was good or bad! lol
 21. anyone fancy a trade/swap?? (depending on value) do you have a fender jazz or a precision? or a lakland? or a sadowsky? and do you want the best cab you'll probably ever play through? get in touch
