CHRISDABASS replied to Gunsfreddy2003's topic in Basses For Sale
I am selling off a couple of my basses and this is the first to go. It an as new 4 string Musicman Sterling in natural finish and spec'd with both a humbucker and jazz bass pickups. This bass is just over a year old and has never ever been gigged. The 5 way selector switch gives access to a really wide variety of tones from the standard humbucker Stingray sound to a really powerful jazz bass sound. Comes with all original paperwork and hard case. Lovely bass.
PM'D -

2002 MIA Fender Precision (tobacco sunburst)
CHRISDABASS replied to Timus's topic in Basses For Sale
Hi folks, I have a 2002 MIA Fender Precision (tobacco sunburst) that I bought in the US a few years ago. It is in excellent condition, it still has the original fender hard case, and even the original labels and receipt. I'm just wondering what's it worth? Thanks in advance, Tim R Scotland
im not quite sure on value £450+?? anyone??? but anyway im interested!!! and i wouldnt mind seeing pictures -
I recently bought an S1 sunburst Jazz off of flanker and I've got to say it's one of the nicest basses I've ever owned. Everything is just perfect finish wise. I love the S1 - gives me the best of both worlds - the neck finish - kind of a plasticky satin is hugely comfortable. I reckon the neck will be pretty stable due to the graphite rods, the bridge is more substantial than those of olde, and it's overall just.....nice. Not sure why they did away with the S1 on jazzes - ideas?
i agree with that!! my S1 that i bought from artisan is awesome!! beautiful neck and lovely finished body! its the best ive played!! fenders are a little unpredictable but when you find a good one hold onto it!!
Hi, looking to sell my 1984 Yamaha bb2000, these things seem to be as rare as hens teeth in the UK, I don't recall ever seeing one on ebay uk. If your a fan of the Smiths then you'll know that this is what Andy Rourke played on all there studio albums, also Peter Hook played one a lot. Great sound, clear as a bell & plays great, all maple with walnut skunk stripes running through the body, thru neck, ebony fingerboard. I've added new Gotoh clover leaf tuners, they look better & the old ones had seen better days, also precision bass volume & tone knobs (still have originals too) Usual wear & tear for a 23 years old bass, nicks, scratchs etc. There is quite a large chunk out the paint (see pics) on the very bottom of the bass, but for the most part this is not visible due to it's location, adds to the mojo! Everything works as it should, anyway, I'm waffling, (sensible) offers? Cheers, Dave. I have a load of old 70's Fender parts, who cares iof they left the factory in their current combinations, they make great basses in any combination. I'm a player not a collector so I don't look for investement, just quality instruments. Get the feeling you're a similat guy Chris? Chris
yeah totally!! if i was an investor i'd be a pretty bad one with all the money ive probably lost over the years selling/trading basses! and your right its not about how they left the factory! if i get em sold i might be coming after you p bass!!!! mwahahaha!!!! lol
Yeah that was my angle on it too, but no-one seems to have considered this?
well i think that as long as its not on and off every other day then its fine! the necks came off ONCE and then were bolted back on again. nothing worse than you or your tech guy doing a set up and shimming the neck a little! as long as these things are done with care and common sense 99% of problems can be avoided

hi after creating a really awesome bass from all my favourite parts of my geddy lee (the neck and bridge) and my bravewood jazz (body, pickups, scratchplate etc) i now have a bass created from all the parts left over its a geddy lee body, pickups and scratchplate a bravewood neck, tuners/machineheads, and bridge i also replaced the stack knob arrangement on the bravewood body with an audere pre (cheers Nick) so that stack knob complete plate with pots etc etc could be available too the bass i created from this little experiment is purely my prefference, it doesn't mean that the parts left over are somehow inferior! they're just not as "me" so this feeler is to try and work out if any of these parts would sell?? anyone interested yet? lol also advice on price would be nice...... fully loaded geddy lee body £££??? bravewood maple/rosewood neck £££??? bravewood jazz control plate with stack pot arrangement £££??? any help or advice would be great!! and if all else fails i'll just keep complete it cheers
