CHRISDABASS replied to TimmyC's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Just a little heads up on this auction: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=016 I sent him an email asking for more pictures and would he accept cash on collection and got this reply: "Sorry but i don`t have any pictures in this moment. I want to sell it faster and i want to find a buyer immediately. You don`t have to bid and win the auction so you can buy it....if you are really interested i reserve the right to end the auction and make the transaction with you. The price i am looking for is GBP1300 with insurance and shipping included. If this is a reasonable price please let me know and i can make the transaction with you through eBay and i SOLD It, so the deal will be very legit and safe and will not be outside eBay. You will also have a 7 days return policy. If you have other questions please email me ASAP. I will also want you to reply either way so i will know what to do. Accept or decline? Regards" His appalling use of English and using GBP in front of the price indicates he is most probably a foreigner. And the fact he's got 0 feedback, insured shipping and is including a 7 day return policy indicates a scam to me.
i got exactly the same reply!!!!!! idiots!!!!! -
hey i was a bit annoyed at the lack of springyness (excuse the crap description) in the foam that was underneath my jazz bass's bridge pick up!! it felt like it kept wanting to just fall further into the bass!! so i found a suitable replacement, removed the pickup and exchanged the old (very flimsy) piece with the new, fit the pickup back as it was before, re strung the bass and set the correct pickup height only to find when i plugged the bass in and solo'd the bridge pickup it sounded so weedy, thin and quite frankly awful!!! could i have damaged the pickup somehow?? the copper wires maybe?? argh!!!! im annoyed at myself for messing with it now!!! any help at all would be good!! (might just send this message to the guys at wizard pickups where i got them from) cheers chris
"Their first mistake was commiting a crime, Their second mistake was that it was against someone on basschat" Sorry i don't think i can be of much help, there is a remote chance they might have travelled east to hull. Bit of a long shot but i could try the 3 music shops down bev road since they take a lot of used stuff off people's hands and i'm planning on going in one of them any way. Is that list everything or was there some more (i'm thinking drums here) stolen? I'll also try Cash converters if we go into town. Boys with ducks beaks i think.
that would be an awesome help!!!! seriously man if enough of us are aware these guys wont stand a chance!!! check out the new list at the start of the post!! some items have been found!!!
There's a crack converter's near where I work in Shipley. I'll pop in every few days to have a look around. I've printed off the list of items to look out for. This stuff will surface somewhere and there are hopefully enough of us dotted around the area to keep an eye out.
what an awesome community of people!!!!! you guys rock!! thank you so much for your help!!! together we'll get these idiots!!! thanks again!!!!
