Hi There. After posting questions you should post some photos. What about starting a thread called basses on boats? There's one for basses in gardens going cos of the summer. I assume you don't have much of a garden?
could try it - I forgot to mention among my basses i have on long term loan a 1970s Kramer with aluminium neck - it weighs a ton but looks good ;0)
  3.
Hang about - just realised I was thinking of 'Ramble on' instead. Happens as we get older, I understand. Ah, T
cheers anyway – I'll have a play with that one too :0)
  4.
His solo is basically based around the blues scale in E,A and B. So rather than 'blanket' the whole solo with one scale he is outlining the chord changes (E7#9, A7,B7) with the appropriate blues scale. The Blues Scale is made up of I,bIII,IV,bV,V,bVII. Basically it's a minor pentatonic with an added flat 5th.
That's great - couldn't ask for more - thanks! that'll keep me busy for a while ;0)
  5. Hi I love jpj's bass line on the3 lemon song but rather than follow tab I'd love to try to just improvise the solo does anone know what scale it's in? Then I can practise the scale first and then try to jam along. Any advice much appreciated squizz

    hi

Hi, just was looking for some info and thought hey why don't I join a forum. I've been playing bass for about a year tho I've tinkered with it in the past. Played guitar for years on and off, then just realised actually nearly all the music I love is bass driven, and I like the sound and feel of bass more. I have an Aria pro bass, and as I live on a boat I use a bass cube that I can run off batteries or 12 volt. Now I'm off to find the appropriate place to post my question cheers all Squizz
