1. A word of warning: The first one I had collapsed, damaging my Ibbys (Thank everything that is good that it wasn't my Shuker). It turned out that the metal peg that holds the extended part had snapped. The rep reckoned it must have been a bad batch. The replacement has been fine and I still think they're great.
2. I'm chuffed to bits Mert, a good day all round I feel
3.
Here is my LH500 atop my latest acquisition/trade:
Sheesh, that was quick mate. How's it sounding? Had a quick (very low volume) fiddle with the V Type.....I think it's going to be amazing.

6. So.....discussing the cab with Mrs T: She says: "It looks the same as what you've already got........it's green, with four blobs in the middle" Oh dear lord
7.
Well, it sounds bloody good with the 1x15 combo.... It can come up for the ride on Sunday and you can have a look
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8. Mert What the hell are you trying to do to me? Thinks.....no, I can't....no.......can I?
9.
That sounds like a winner. The Vbass has XLR outputs too so could use those. Do you know of a semi decent power amp? Kiwi I looked at active monitors but their performance at low volume is quite variable and they can be expensive for a decent active set... Cheers ped
Jeez, where do I start Depends on output requirements really. I know people slate them but for your but Behringer do some fairly decent ones (my band uses them for PA and have had no problems with them) There are loads of others and GAK are doing them at decent prices.
10. I'm thinking along the lines of a stereo power amp (using the V bass as a pre). You would have to fit XLR connectors to the amp end of your leads but I reckon that would work.
11.
I think the earlier cabs were ply but they changed to MDF early 90s. I bloody hope the new 2005+ range are ply, properly braced and damped, coz I'm picking up a 1518 next week! If not, I have prob got enough wadding left from my home build to stick into it...
According to the website, the new ones are made from "lightweight poplar ply" It doesn't say anything about bracing and damping though and I have no idea myself as I've never taken it apart. Just checked it out and it sounds great
12. on hold
13. Mert, you have a PM
14. Monday evening bu-bump tish
15. Mate, stop it. This is doing my head in
16.
I had a chance to try both the 300w and 500w versions... they both sound good but I wouldn't use as standalone cabs for fretted bass playing as the lack of the tweeter is clear when you play thru them. They have a nice, silky tone and are very well built! Definitely worth every penny.
Thank you Sir
17. A post holiday humpty bump
18. Sorry about the delayed reply. Sri Lankan internet is random at best To answer your question Matte Black: I've never used the cab as a standalone, so I couldn't really tell you. However, I've no doubt that it would certainly handle it.
19.
If it's good enough for Sting, it's sure as hell good enough for me!!
And John Mcvie, Mike Rutherford, Mike Dirnt, etc, etc
20. This is still up for grabs people. Now with a price drop. IMO a bargain price for a really good cab. Ta Pete
21.
One had just Fender Jazz Bass the other had a serial number or patent number under the Fender (both obviously had maple neck, black block inlays).
That's what made me query it in the first place.
22. I was just asking out of interest, as I was comparing it with a pic on the zzounds website and the stuff on the headstock was different. I'm convinced now though.
23. I could be wrong but is what's on the headstock correct for a genuine Fender? Don't flame me if I'm barking up the wrong tree.
