Just in case you thought you had too much bass gear
Tinman replied to Alemboid's topic in General Discussion
Apologies to anyone who thought I was trying to insult the bloke, I was just trying to point out the funny side of owning that much gear (and of course there's the envy thing going on) And yes, if I could afford that much gear I probably would go out and buy it. Once again apologies. Pete -

It's great and really useful that reviews the gear but does he have to keep it all? -

How much of what you play do you also listen to?
Tinman replied to paul, the's topic in General Discussion
These days I listen to very little of what we play, except for maybe Green Day and Snow patrol, reason being, a lot of what we do is not my particular thing (I've only recently joined this band) I'm in the process of adding tracks that are more my taste and no, I won't tell you what we do as I don't think I can handle the embarassment, so don't ask. The last band I was in did a lot more of my kind of stuff (Blues rock, funk etc) so I used to love listening to what we did. -

I'd say he's suffering from OCD That is just downright silly, I bet he's forgotten what's at the back of the pile. -
Good grief! Somebody else in Lincolnshire, I think that makes four of us. We'll be able to have our own meet soon. Welcome
Hehehe Don't laugh but I've never changed the frequency on it so I wouldn't know, I wouldn't have thought it would have gone up in such high jumps of 30mhz though. Just checking though are any of you guys finding the AKG 400 for less than 199? FYI people looking for a cheap good wireless ElliotMinor is selling on the AKG bugs in the For Sale Section they are great units as long as you don't throw your bass around your head
http://www.dv247.com/invt/froogle/26109/ http://www.dvguitars.com/invt/26109/ Once I find out whether a power supply is included (it's not listed but I'm sure it will be) I'll order from one of these sites.

Looking stunning already, looking forward to seeing it completed. Love the fingerboard.

If I knew then what I know now, I'd have told my Old Man to get lost when he handed me a guitar. I'd have taken up the bass instead. However, he did say, as he handed it to me "learn to play this son, it'll get you laid" (he was right!)

In no particular order: Boz Burell John Deacon Mike Rutherford (back in the early days when he could be bothered) Bruce Foxton Tony Levin
I have played with this Bass all evening and I love it, its a great bass and I find it really easy to play. The sound is lovely. (just what I was after). Met the tinmans today and they they are a great couple. Spent an hour with them, lovely people.
Why, thankyou Simon. I'm glad you like the bass, it's good to know that it's going to get played. Pete

I've been looking around on the net and I reckon that I'll go for the AKG WMS 400 that Tayste suggested, decent price and it looks like it'll do what I want it to do (not destroy my sound).
-
Looks like paint to me (could be wrong though)
-
Thanks guys, lots to think about.
-
It appears that he'll make you anything you want, basswise of course.
Nope not legal, but who ever cared about that
Good point
-
Thanks guys I think I bought this unit in ignorance really. Tayste: when you say the X2 can be imported, I take it that the frequencies used are legal in the UK. Failing that I'll look at AKG perhaps. Cheers Pete
It's quite a common occurence and you'll even experience it (albeit to a lesser extent) with high end systems. I find that on my system a tiny bit of both bottom and top end gets lost if I listen very carefully. Most of us get satisfactory results by altering the amps eq to suit.
I see what you mean, that's exactly what's happening, it takes away punch as well. I find it surprising/annoying that there are, apparently, only two manufacturers that make bass specific systems, notably: Samson and Nady. The Nady UHF system (U-33B), it would appear, isn't on sale in the UK. You can only get their VHF system and VHF, as we all know, isn't particularly clever.

Hey all I've got the Sennheiser Freeport FP72 wireless system and when I compare it to using a lead I find that it alters my tone. Does anyone else have one of these and has anyone else had similar problems? Has anyone had similar problems with any wireless systems and how have you got around them? I'm pretty sure I've set it up correctly, so I don't think I've done anything daft. I need help with this before I sell it, buy something more expensive and find that I've still got the same problem. Cheers Pete
