2. Have just had a great buying experience with Alien (Andy). Really great chap to deal with and packed the speaker I had off him superbly. A highly recommended guy to deal with!
3.
Youll more like 50-100 to replace it with something good.
Yep, I realise the price of speakers, i'm living in the hope that someone has a spare unwanted driver they'd like to see the back of. Have had a couple of offers so far that might work out well.
4.
Not secondhand or anything, and no idea of how good/bad they are, but... Try these guys: http://www.stagebeat.co.uk/product.php?pro...rinter_friendly
Thanks for the link, not sure if they're really what i'm looking for, will try and email them all the same. Looks pricey though.....
5. Another forum member came up with what I needed so this thread is now closed. Thank you. Wanted: 1 x 15" bass driver to replace a blown peavey BW. Preferably 4ohm, 300-400w but 8ohm considered too. Peavey, Eminence, Celestion etc, something half decent....must be fully working with no issues. Hopefully someone has got one tucked away somewhere making the place look untidy?! Budget £25-30 plus courier (which i can arrange). Can pay via paypal. Thank you.
6. Search over, found what i needed on Ebay. No longer required.
7. Thanks for the recommendation Stevie, I think Bassmax is the way to go for me, still searching.
8. Thanks for tip-off there, i'll keep an eye on that one although i'm not sure if it's the ideal pickup for me, mainly due to the fact that my bass is mid-quality ply and I sometimes will need some fairly high volume.... From: http://www.gollihurmusic.com/product/1428-...OLIN_VIOLA.html "The pickup seems to perform best on carved basses and quality laminated instruments with a nicely responsive top. As with all transducers, the bass and its characteristics dictate the results. Note that if your volume needs are high, The Realist may not be the best choice... as it seems to feed back more readily than some other pickups. I would suggest the K&K Bass Max as an alternative choice for players with higher volume needs".
9. Hi, Has anyone got a K&K Bassmax pickup & preamp for sale for a reasonable price? Don't mind if it's just the pickup as I'm sure I can find a preamp separately. I'm in the UK and can pay by paypal or cheque. Am also interested in Fishman Platinum Pro Bass Preamp if anyone is selling?
