  1. Really don't want to see it go but mainly playing the G&L since I've started noodling again so looking to see if anyone would be interested. Don't let the name or it's initial looks fool you, this can also be a gentle thing :)

The bass itself is in great condition. One tiny dink (which hasn't broken through the finish) near the jack, a small light scrape around the same area and same in a small section on the back of the neck. Barely noticeable nd will try to get them to show up in some pics.

As for what I'd be looking for, there's nothing in particular to be honest. Keeping an open mind on this one but mainly looking for a straight sale or trade for an amp

    Bit of blurb:

Neck thru ,figured maple top, black pearl gothic inlays, black chrome hardware
Emh hz pickups, emg active 2 band eq,abalone bindings, black cherry finish

  2. Thanks man. I've tidied it up a bit as the marker pen had stained in to the gloss finish so it's now got big matt patches on it which I'll even out. Neck is straight and feels OK to play even if the strings on it are heavily rusted. Hoping to have a nice wee player once I get new strings and the action sorted.

Then I'll have to see what's what with the electronics which gives me the fear!

  3. Don't suppose anybody has any experience of these?

I've just landed one for free after our last landlord was away to chuck it. It was lying in a heap of broken glass and window frames that were replaced for us moving in. His son had left it behind and said he didn't want it so I was welcome to it.

Never had a project before and was looking to buy a guitar anyway, so seems a decent place to start.

Seems to be in pretty decent nick too. Counted three minor dinks and that's it. Silver hardware's polished up nicely, small spots of rust on the pickups and seems to have been drawn on in marker pen more than played.Getting the pen off is also taking off the gloss finish which is slightly annoying.

Just wondering if anyone thinks that it should have been left in the bin! Sadly, no amp at the moment to see what's working and what's not.

  4. On the point of looking for new inspiration, however temporary, might be exactly what I need.

I've just returned to this site after a few years away and hardly picking up a bass. After a few house moves it looks like my amp is knackered and I don't really have the available funds to get it fixed, nor have the know how to even attempt it myself.

After a few days back on here I've brought the basses out, polished and tuned them up (looking lovely as ever), had a noodle on each but...just wasn't feeling it.

I have seen an awful lot in the marketplace which is making me want to try something new though. Hopefully leading to a new drive to get playing and gigging again.

Will it happen? I don't know. Am I just spouting? Probably. But we'll see what happens!
