1. Here's mine. Just signed up and uploaded a few tracks, seems to be better than bandcamp with the social networking integration, and damn, aren't waveforms pretty? http://soundcloud.com/wil-miles

Feedback for fraff

Ian bought my Microkorg. Very smooth transaction and good comms, wouldn't hesitate to deal with again.
3. I can see the sound working in a band mix, sure, but so would many other similar and far, far cheaper dirtboxes, and I doubt many people would be able to tell the difference. Each to their own, though!
4. Afraid I'm now fully sorted for gear, just after a cash sale at the moment.
5. I can't understand why anyone would pay so much for something that, judging from demo videos at least, seems to sound like a fart in a tin can.
6. Now SOLD to fraff pending the usual.
7. They seem to be working ok for me - could be a temporary glitch? I'm in North Bristol, near the M4/M5 junction.
8. Bump with pics: http://i47.tinypic.com/2ajp9g7.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/2z5npl1.jpg
9. Bump, this needs to go really, surplus to requirements. Here's a better (albiet sideways) pic: http://i49.tinypic.com/2uongae.jpg And you can hear it on this demo that I did do: http://wilmiles.bandcamp.com/track/4-4-5-4
10. Excellent, thanks for sharing. Amazing harmonies, Brian Wilson's voice used to be just incredible, such a pure tone.
11. I have the same guitar and it's lovely, probably one of the nicest guitars I've ever owned in fact. Loads of character, sounds fantastic, really comfy neck, and looks awesome, what more could you want? Have a bump on me!
12. Old style microkorg, without box/manual, but I do have the power supply, vocoder mic and a nice soft gator carry case. Hardly used, bought on a whim recently and found it unsuited to my band. £200, ideally collected but could post if necessary.
13. Just a little tune I did to demo my Braguesa. Starts in 4/4 then veers into 5/4 when the bass comes in - http://wilmiles.bandcamp.com/track/4-4-5-4 I intend to develop the song further with a vocal, some sparse bass in the first half, and the second half will probably lead into an as yet unwritten 6/8 section with some stabby guitars, but I'm waiting for inspriation to strike before going back to it.

mix advice

Just listened - fantastic mix. Interesting to read 51m0ns take on what's happening. What boggles my mind is the thought that goes into the little details (like that xylophone effect that keeps popping up - inspired little hook) that keep the arrangement moving forward, at the same time as producing such a polished and sweet sounding mix. Top notch. But slightly demoralising, as I know I'll never be able to produce anything that sounds that good

Braguesa

Couldnt get it to attach, so uploaded to bandcamp instead - here's the braguesa in all it's braguesa-ey glory: http://wilmiles.bandcamp.com/track/4-4-5-4

Braguesa

I got the chance to use the Braguesa on a rough demo t'other day, in case anyone was wondering what it sounds like: Nice to see all these out of the ordinary instruments on BC *Edit - cant seem to get the file to attach...
17. I zone out a lot when practicing/playing at home, and occasionally at rehearsal with the band. I'm normally too nervous to do so live (or perhaps not quite as baked). I have found that getting a state where I'm not conciously thinking about what I'm playing can have great results, but it can also be fairly disasterous. Mixed bag.
18. Between 1k and 1.5k I'd say depending on condition and spec. Lovely basses.

Great book that. And the Mixerman diaries, informative and hilarious!

+1, your posts (particularly regarding compression and EQ) have improved my mixing immensely, keep up the good work!
21. I dont really need any more guitars or amps I'm afraid.
22. I'm a fairly recent Zappa convert. Definitely far prefer his early stuff, Freak Out, We're Only in it for the Money, Hot Rats especially. I like some of his later stuff (Inca Roads for instance) but I'm still not a fan of the late 70s/early 80s, more satirical stuff, especially in terms of production (tried to get into Joe's Garage and Sheik Yerbouti (spelling?) but didn't really enjoy them - I quite like a few tracks off You Are What You Is though). Now I've listened to a fair bit of his back catalogue I can hear his melodic influence in more and more modern music, particularly video game music. He really had a wonderful sense of melody
