1. That really was a good post.
2. Obvious troll is obvious.
3. Avon grabber copy. Horrible fretwork, high action, weighed a ton, sounded dull. Cost me £20 in a car boot, sold it for a £5 loss a decade later.
4. I am slightly in love with Mel (Kristen Schaal). So cute. Murry, Brett and Jermaine's mastery of deadpan is absolutely wonderous also.
5. Traded my AC30 for Martin's Peavey Classic 30 earlier today - smooth transaction and Martin is a very pleasant chap to do business with - deal with confidence.
6. Some Funkadelic? If you like a bit of rock with your funk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2nqZCSnN1U
7. Trade agreed pending the usual
8. Something like the ht studio 20 would probably fit my needs well. What ya got?
9. Pics: The little luggage cart strapped to it is not included and can be removed without any trace very easily. As you can see it's generally in good condition bar the usual dings and scrapes in the tolex you'd expect of a gigging amp.
10.
Hi mate. Could you PM me the cash price please??
It'd be the same as the trade value, £400. I'm looking to trade first and formost though I'll consider selling in a week or two if I cant find a good swap for it. Pics later!
11. I'm looking to slightly downsize my guitar setup, as the weight of my admittedly gorgeous sounding AC30 is starting to do my back in slightly. I've just moved into a top floor flat too, which doesnt help matters. As such I'm interested in trading it for an AC15C1 or an alternative portable setup (Tiny Terror and cab, Cornford Harlequin, Peavey Classic 30, Blackstar HT something or other, you get the gist). Trade value I would put at £400 (amp is a bit tatty cosmetically but in good working order. Revalved last year) Open to offers, would also consider a cash sale in a few weeks if there are no trades offered.
12. Warmoth parts are probably better quality than American Fender parts, IME. Not cheap but top notch stuff.

Make Do and Mend

Here's a new song I made, thought I may as well post it here in case anyone fancies a listen. First thing I've written in several months, found it to be fairly cathartic. Drums are from ableton, everything else is me. https://soundcloud.com/wil-miles/make-do-and-mend
14.
Woolly Tank Top Pop.
15.
IMO Mumford and Sons are hardly any more new or original than Jake Bugg, and the others have all been around for at least 20 or so years.
I have to agree! I quite enjoyed this review of their latest, though, from Melody Maker's Mr Agreeable: http://thequietus.com/articles/10744-mumford-sons-babel-review-mr-agreeable
16.
Just because a band uses a guitar doesn't automatically make them any better or worse than any band that doesn't. It's all down to whether or not you like the music.
This is of course very true, but considering a lot of us peddle in largely guitar based stuff, and popular music has been more and more synth/sample driven, it makes me feel a little less like a dinosaur to see young people listening to people playing old fashioned planks of wood with strings on
17. I'm just happy that the mainstream is turning back towards guitar centric music to some degree, even if he is a sanitised package based on numerous other artists that went before. Makes it more likely that young people will give other guitar bands a go, and that's a good thing.
18. If you want to get a pick sound, why not take this as a good oppurtunity to expand your skills and work on your pick technique? Being able to play both ways is very beneficial.
19. Weak album in general I thought, I quite liked Definately Maybe and even enjoyed Be Here Now, at the time. The Masterplan (b sides) record had better tracks than WTSMG IMO.
20. I hate every second until we get up on stage and start playing. Anxiety!
21. Yeah, I agree with that approach. I've always felt that the the music should be it's own reward first and foremost, and if other people like it enough to buy it, then great.
22.
The reviews of RockinRollin' VampireMan EP were all either massively positive or horribly negative with AFAIK nothing in between. TBH that's good good thing as it means the music has struck a nerve be it good or bad. From my PoV there's nothing worse than being considered average. However if you can't take criticism - either constructive or otherwise - then maybe this isn't for you...
I think we're our own worst critics at the moment, so it'll be nice to have someone else do it for a change
23.
prepare yourself for people not liking you lovingly crafted music as much as you do, but of course they won't say that to your face
Honestly, this keeps me awake at night...
24. Thanks BRX. Yes we're going to get some CDs pressed for gigging, and some shirts. A nice chap from Japan has done us some fantastic artwork using traditional Japanese calligraphy (there is a loose Japanese theme going through the record) which should look great as an album cover/on shirts. It's interesting what you say about needing a PR agency in order for people to even listen to the album - bit depressing but I suppose with so many artists out there it's to be expected. Has anyone here used a PR agency before for this sort of thing (any recommendations for agencies to use/avoid)?
25.
Make it your foremost thought if you want to sell anything and build a fanbase. People connect with what they see more than what they hear initially, if they can connect with your vibe and personalities, you have a chance.
We're so screwed Personally, I'd be made up if we got some good reviews... I've always idealised bands who were at their peak in the studio, so the whole "letting the album tour for you" thing appeals a lot to me. We will starting booking gigs in the new year though and try and get out of Bristol a bit.
