1. Basschat - its like the Daily Mail with bass guitars.
2.
After seeing that video did you think "damn, for my next purchase I really must order something from them"?
No, I thought about having a cup of tea. That's it you see, I didn't really care what these guys were doing with their bass. Obviously the treatment being given to that bass was either a request or an experiement on something already bought - either way it wouldnt affect buying something from there.
3. I can't understand the reaction either Soundgoduk, to be honest. I can think of far worse things to get up in arms about!

spector necks

I found the neck on my brother's Legend to be quite P bass like. Lovely bass, amazing build quality for the money. The only thing I would change would be the preamp, it wasn't as focused as I would like. A great sound out of the box though, and plays like butter.
5.
you guys take yourselves and your opinions on kosher ways to treat a bass far too seriously. it's not your bass, not your request, not what you want, none of your business. maybe they're mates with the guy who's bass it is. maybe he's not bothered that that's not an authentic relicing. maybe they thought it would be fun. maybe they suggested a proper luthier, and the customer was like "well, I need it for a muso fancy dress party tonight", or "I've only got £15 - just have a crack at it". y'all need to be a little less judgemental.
Big +1.
6. How do you know the customer wanted a Jaco Jazz? How do you know the customer wasnt some young kid without a lot of cash who wanted a beat up mexican Jazz with no scratchplate? How do you know he wasnt there in the shop taking part?
7. I wont pass judgement on 'em, because its only a plank of wood with strings on, the customer wanted it, and having worked in retail I probably would have joined in if I worked there, it does look like a laugh. What other method of relicing a bass would the customer expect, asking a guitar shop to do it rather than a luthier? I'm sure he knew what he was in for.
8.
I just won, sent you an ebay message about sollection and paying. I have such great timing with moving house, just bought a 4x10 too.
You're Luke's basssist are you not? Cool beans. It might be easier for me to drop it round to you if you are in Bristol, send a message to my drummer on ebay and let him know whether you'd like it posted or if you are local to Bedminster area and we'll sort something out.
9. Is the little big muff identical in sound to the normal big muff?
10. I'm not fussed, really. If it sells it sells, my drummer put it on because I couldn't be arsed to... any money is money in my pocket rather than it sitting around taking a back seat to my Statii and Jazz.
11. Batteries not included is hardly the end of the world, though, is it? If it were a proper active preamp with bass/treble boost/cut and that sort of thing I would have put a battery in, but as its only a volume booster the buyer can put one in if he wants to use it. Or, they can turn up the gain on their amp for free
12. 6 hours left, bid away!
13. Because the bass is round my drummer's house, and I'm a lazy bugger
14. Bump Had some interest so far, keep it coming!
15. If you want that quacky raspy envelope sound you may want to pick up a DOD FX25, or FX25b if you cant find the original. I hear there are volume discrepancy issues with them, though.
16. An original Mutron III, I'd say. If you can find one, that is.
17. Ebay link

20. I love VoodooJunkie I do. I joined my current band by posting a bassist available ad on there.
21. May want to try putting an add on http://www.voodoojunkie.com or http://www.ttyc.co.uk/. Both local Bristol forums frequented by plenty of musicians and music scene bods (promoters, soundguys etc).
22. Looking really nice, will be interested in seeing it completed
23. Christ on a bike. It only takes a moment to say "this has been asked before, but you may find this previous thread helpful", or, if you're too busy, not say anything at all... Being polite works on the internet as well as in real life, suprisingly enough!
24. I'd recommend Labella Deep Talkin' flats. Nice smooth tone, nice highs and a fat bottom. A bit mid shy, hence the smoothness.
25.
Hehe, not sure if i want punchy, More piano like If anything Unless its a MM or Rick.
If its anything like my S2, then it'll do that as well
