1. If you like modern punchy tone, I doubt you could go far wrong with Paul C's Stealth mate!
2. Oh... er... must restrain... self...
3.
f***ed if I know.
Ah ha! I was totally stumped by that one!
4.
FIIK!
??? All asthetics, really. Some may say there is more neck to body contact, but I doubt it makes any difference to tone. Single cut guitars like the Les Paul have been around years, so why not have single cut basses too?
5. I've owned a mexican Fender before and the build quality and tone was nowhere near the US Jazz I have now. I've also owned a Japanese Jaguar guitar, and that was really well made as well.
6. I've got some Labella Deep Talkin' flats on my S2 at the moment, and although they are nice smooth sounding strings, I can imagine they would struggle to cut through in a band situation as they seem very mid shy to me.
7. I was thinking the same last night, trying to get a decent pick tone from my Little Mark with my Jazz. Got a nice tone but sounded a bit sterile, maybe a sansamp would be the ticket but would be nice to chuck some tube witchcraft in there somewhere!
8. I've seen that one for sale before, and nice as it is, wouldn't want to pay that much. I doubt it would offer anything tonally over my wood necked Series 1 Status, and I picked that up for £250 I'd say £550-£650 would be a more realistic. That's just me though!
9. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1Lf3K6VxKZ4 Anyone care to guess what he has turned on in this clip? Sounds lush!

11. Looks like a Hamer Blitz to me.
12. One thing to consider of course is that nature has no concept of value or quality. Wood grows, we cut it down and use it, but whether the sound a certain type of wood gives is worth its cost is an entirely subjective matter. Its not like a cheap wood is cheap because the tree cut corners while it was growing! It may just be because the wood is plentiful.
13. A few of my recent posts have gone missing. Database corruption perhaps?
14. Cool bass. Great big fat dub sound.
15. If its just that one fret, then yes it could be a slightly higher fret or unevenly fitted fret. As its around the 8th fret I'd imagine slightly loosening the truss rod (1/4 turn or under at first) would sort it.
16. This is amazing, and I'm not a huge slap fan! Insanely good...
17. I didn't say you did The Funk. I didn't particularly want to go finger pointing and such, just to remind people that threads like this have caused valued members to leave in the past -_- I'm not a mod though, so I shouldn't be getting on my high horse anyway
18. Sex shouldnt come into it, to be honest. You either like her playing or you don't, simple as.

My new Jazz!

I bought Bassjamm's '99 USA Jazz on Saturday. I love it so far, best 4 stringer I've owned I'd say. Still fine tuning it to my heavy handed style, but nearly there - while I was tweaking the action etc earlier I recorded some soundclips, which are below: Jazz Groove Jazz Groove 2 Jazz - Space Cowboy I'm loving having a decent 4 string for a change - the neck is refreshingly thin and easy after using 5s for a year. I'm looking forward to using this with the band once I get a hipshot fitted
20. Excellent and thoughtful choice of notes in that solo, not noodly at all which is refreshing. I can't help but mention that a few of the comments in this thread are quite offensive to women, and I'm a man for petes sake. Think before pressing submit, please.

22. She can really wail!
23. That's very beautiful. Congratulations!
24. You're a picky one, you are Mind you, I'm not sure it would be able to compete with my drummer in rehearsal anyway. I need to push my LMII quite hard sometimes, and that's not a quiet amp!
25. Wowsers! I'll trade you the mock for the Trace head!
