  1. Hi. Just measured it and it is 17.5mm spacing. Cheers
  2. Fishman Pro EQ II acoustic instrument preamp Excellent condition. Boxed with instructions, belt clip. etc. Would prefer collection from Tewkesbury but can look at postage options.
  3. Korg D4 Multitrack Recorder for sale that I bought new some years ago. It is in excellent condition and comes with the original memory card It's in the original box with power supply and manual. It can do quite a lot but I'm easily confused when there is more than one function on a button so has had minimal use!! Would prefer pickup from Tewkesbury but can look at postage options

  4. Fostex MR8 mkII 8 track digital multitrack recorder. Includes a 32GB compact flash memory card. The batteries had leaked and corroded the contacts in the battery compartment only so I have replaced these with nice shiny new ones so it works as it should on both batteries and with a mains adapter. There is a a non-original mains adapter included as well as the original manual less the cover page. I have recorded a couple of basslines to ensure it works (and deleted them afterwards to hide my dodgy playing...) https://fostexinternational.com/docs/archive_products/MR-8_MkII.shtml Would prefer collection from Tewkesbury but could look at postage options if required.
  5. To answer a couple of questions the bass weighs 4.4kg and the string spacing is 17.5mm. Just for interest, the black bass is heavier at 4.9kg - quite a difference!! Cheers
  6. No real reason apart from I prefer the colour and it has flats on it!! Cheers
  7. They are superb basses. I've had a USA SUB 4 Stingray, a USA SUB 4 Sterling (that gets really confusing with the current naming...) as well as these two USA SUB 5s. I'm keeping the black one....
  8. I don't really play five strings but ended up buying two of these over the years as really like them so one has to go!! This one is in excellent, near mint condition - there are no chips, dents scratches etc. The chrome is pretty much free of any pitting. There can't be many around in this sort of condition. I've owned it for nearly 14 years and it hasn't had a great deal of use in my time (an absolute waste...). It comes in a generic hard case and has the original checker plate scratchplate as well as the red one fitted. £725 collected from Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
  9. Didn’t even get started!! Unfortunately there has been a lot of non- bass related things going on so I just haven’t had much chance for building over the past 18 months. Hopefully next year…. Cheers
  10. Thanks again to Mr and Mrs Scrumpy, Scrumpet and everybody else for organising this event. Like many others, I look forward to this event in the calendar every year. Great to catch up with the regulars but also those new to this bash. Thanks again and can’t wait until next year!!
  11. For anyone that is unsure about this bass bash, it is a really relaxed event. There’s no relentless slapping or folk trying to show how good they are (I’d fail anyway!) just a load of different gear and people with a common interest. Ask yourself how often you can chat about basses without the other person falling asleep or asking why you need more stuff……
  12. And finally had some time to progress the second one - hoorah!! Not the best picture but the top was bought at the same time so (hopefully...) will look very similar in colour to the first bass.
  13. http://www.status-graphite.com/status/frames/index_home.html Still can’t afford them!!
  14. I'd be inclined to remove the fretboard, radius and slot a new one and fit it. Be a shame not see it complete after all the other work - some nice looking wood on that too! Cheers Jez
  15. I'm interested - south Wales should be good for me.
  16. Hi, yes this is still for sale. Cheers
  17. I found the Ibanez Mezzo strings worked on this - just the right length on the B string for the tuning post!! I've also tried the 4 string sets on my 4 string version of this bass and they were good too.
  18. It is. a 27" 5 string. Ash body, maple neck with padauk fretboard. You get a better idea of the size next to this Markbass 801: There's a build diary on here for reference https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/440731-27-short-scale-5-string/
  19. Now, that is very nice…..
  20. @ValleyArts How did you get on with this? Any joy with parts?? Cheers
  21. I’m hoping to get along to this - always enjoy the bass bashes!! All being well, I’ll bring along a 27” scale 5 string, a Status S3000 and a whatever else fits in the car…….
  22. I like very short scale stuff but the difficulty I find is in finding suitable strings. If you can keep it around 30” string choice is better. That’ll be why one of pictures shows a Les Paul with the strings anchored at the rear of the bass but the bridge in the normal position, I guess.
  23. I always fancied a Series 2, probably a nostalgia thing from seeing the Trace Elliot and Status adverts when I was a teenager. Well out of my price range now. But I do still have a composite headless Moses neck so will have to build something around that.
