The bass, only recently I said I'd never sell, a 1990 Squier Precision, made in Japan (K series), and [i]for me[/i], as good a Precision as I've ever played. Big tone, plays itself, the perfect P bass and currently fitted with TI flats. It's all original with no upgrades that I know about, and I really believe it'll be a sort after bass in years to come. It's not in pristine condition, with a few bumps and dings, none of which were put there by me I hasten to add. I love this bass, but I'm after a G&L Tribute L2500 to partner my L2000 so I need some cash, sorry no trades, unless it's with an L2500 of course. No case, and I'd [i]rather[/i] come and meet you somewhere within reason to avoid posting. Sorry about the lousy pics, but my phone is the only digital camera I have right now. NOW SOLD

I just bought a CV '50s Strat and it's a fabulous guitar for the money, great build and tone and I love the neck.[/quote] Yeah, I think old gear can be looked at through rose tinted spectacles a bit, some of it was awful, 70s Fenders were a case in point, some great, some pants, and the older Squiers are the same, I've played some dogs, but if you can find a good one they're great. However, I'm with you on the Classic Vibes, they seem to be consistantly good basses, and probably a much safer bet.

Yeah they're cracking basses when you find a good one. I had a Strat once and wasn't overly impressed with that, but the last couple of basses I've tried have been great. My Precision is a couple of years older, and also MIJ, and it's as good as any Precision as I've ever played.

Well, having had a couple of amps soaked in beer a couple of times, I've found that immediate dismantle and drying out with a hair drier has resulted in no ill effects for the amp. I guess with water it would be the same principle as long as the bass is fully dried out as quickly as possible to avoid any corrosion, and I would dry all parts out separately avoiding any water being trapped inside the pickups for instance. Is it for one of your photo shoots? Not for the Ric you're about to sell I hope . However, if the pictures involve a young lady in a bikini then I'd say go for it.

350 watts, 2x10, 500W with a cab added. I wanted something similar to the SWR Redhead, and that's what I got. It's served me very well, but my new Markbass gear means this amp is redundant. I have the metal blank plate somewhere that covers the hole between the head and the cab, but I took it off because it rattled in a live situation. The 1U space is there as the amp was designed to accomodate a rack tuner. It comes with a custom made roqsolid heavy duty cover, and is on heavy duty Casters as standard.
