1. Thanks everyone for the offers/PMs, I've never had so many, so it'll take a while to reply to them all. Trade wise, well, I'm open minded, but another Precision would be nice, condition and colour not important as long as it plays well, MIJ/CIJ would be great. Passive is definately best for me at this time though. This jazz is a nice old thing, like I say with some wear and tear, and some kind of faint colouring on the reverse of the neck, as though someone has previously used magic marker to mark the fret positions on the rear, no idea why, but it's very faint and doesn't affect the playability in any way, and there's certainly no lacquer damage, I just want to be honest. I tried photgraphing the faint marks but they hardly show up on the picture. Again, thanks for the offers, I'll get back to you all ASAP.
2. SOLD Thanks for all the interest.
3. I think they're great, I saw Amy Winehouse's bass player using one recently.
4. Very tasty trio there, love the Perception.
5. ...and then of course there's Dee Dee...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BBfybCPkjA

7. That's smart, I wish this'd been for sale a couple of weeks ago.
8. Bump for a nice Precision or Stingray??
9.
Can't wait to hear about the new band Russ
Early days mate, but I'm quite excited. In terms of trades, I'm thinking along the lines of: Precision, Jazz, Stingray. Obviously the Stingray is active, but passive basses would be favourite. Hit me with any offers of course. The Kinal is such a special instrument, if I could afford to I'd keep it, but needs must.
10. Well......I'm going to defend the design....... I think they look good actually, not everyone's cup of tea, but they're different, and I know for a fact that they do appeal to younger players. I think if the QC was sorted they'd be getting a better press from folks. I'll reserve judgement until I've had one in my hands on that, but in terms of design alone, I really like them. A lot of people hate Bongos, purely because of the design, but it's an outstanding bass. Of course I'm not comparing the Fleabass to a Musicman in terms of quality, but from a design point of view, the Fleabass is pleasing on the eye, to me, it's just a shame that Flea's made some promises with regard to the QC, that to be honest, we all knew he couldn't possibly follow up. Shame, I really wanted it to be a good bass, maybe they'll sort out the teething problems.
11. Well, I'm yet to see one in the flesh, but I'm disappointed with the comments, my daughter really wants one for christmas.
12. It's funny, I've been a bit uninspired by her latest stuff too. BIG fan of her sound and style, how long ago was "The Way" released? It's still my favourite tune, but a fair bit of her other stuff doesn't do it for me.
13. Things have taken another turn in the last few days, so now I need something old school. I've no cash, so a trade is my only option. I'm after a 70s Precision, a US Precision plus cash, or maybe a Stingray. Offers around a grand, there's no case, so I'd need to meet you somewhere if possible, I'd hate to post this wonderful bass. Possible new band on the horizon, and the Kinal doesn't quite fit the vibe, like I say, 4 string old school offers are welcomed, passive not active thanks.
14. I do like Marleaux basses, and that's no exception. Very very nice.
15. Nice old basses, but £800?? No way, although I've seen them going for not much less than that in mint and original condition. In my opinion, they're worth around £400. Prices for older gear are just going mad, or rather the people paying those prices are.
16. Nice. That's a sexy looking Rick there sir. Question about the action....Surely the action needs to be quite low on a fretless, to keep the intonation in check? Don't know mind, never had a fretless for more than 5 minutes. I fancy a fretless Jazz, Jaco style, so I just wondered how important the action was?
17. Won't be easy, finding original tuners. I remember my BB3000S had a dodgy tuner too, but I never did find a replacement for it. Keep your eyes on ebay, both here and in the US, and you might get lucky.
18. Howard Devoto reaaally looks old eh? I didn't reckognise him at all.

Top gear there sir, I was very tempted by that P5 myself. Love that Jazz.
20. I understood the new Precisions were a return to form for Fender ? I've heard some glowing reports on the '09 models, I guess QC can still be an issue.
21. Marvellous stuff, but for me, Tina Weymouth was the first female funk/pop bass player I knew about in the late 70s. Not many peoples Idea of true funk of course, but Talking Heads were sooooo funky, and Tina & Chris (Frantz) drove them along with some very simple but effective grooves. In fact it was listening to Tina that made me realize that simple basslines, with lots of space, can be much more powerful than a lot of twidly fiddly stuff.
