  1. In the picture….. the old horn (still connected on the right) that black wire on the right is connected to the red spade on the horn, also on the right. Should be the other way around no?
  2. Here’s a question….. The new horn is ready to go in…. dead easy, spade connections…. There’s a red wire and a black wire, and on the horn there’s a plain connection and a red connection….. assume that the red wire goes on the red connection and the black wire on the plain connection? Reason I ask, is because on the old horn, black wire was connected to the red connection and the red wire to the black? That can’t be right can it?
  3. New horn is arriving today, so the cab will be good as new later. I think, that this isn’t the cab I need for this band. I definitely think that 2 x 8ohm cabs will be the way forward, but I have to find something affordable and light ish weight. The amp is great, happy with that, so it’s just cabs I need. I think this Eden would be better in someone else’s setup.
  4. Well, by way of an update…. Rehearsed the rig last night, and as I feared, the horn blew. Not a massive issue, new one ordered, no problem. The amp was set flat (EQ all at 12 o’clock) with the gain and master volume around 1 o’clock, so not driving it that hard in my opinion, the horn was also set at 12 o’clock. Two songs in, the horn goes. New horn on the way. So my questions now are……if I turn the horn level down, is it still going to overload? ….. and should I just be looking for 2x 8ohm cabs that can handle 500W at 4ohms…… or should this 4ohm cab rated at 350W be able to handle it?
  5. It’s an 210XLT, so I’ll take a look, cheers
  6. Eden 2x10 cab needs new horn…. North West….. anyone know anyone? Thanks in advance
  7. Like most people, I always have a spare, that never leaves its case. I haven’t broken a string in decades. To be honest, now I’m making the move to tiny class D amps, I’m more likely to carry a spare one of those than anything else. I’ve had more trouble with amps than basses over the years.
  8. Nice….. I have my eye on one too. The burrs on the scratch plate is common with these, don’t know why, but it’s an easy fix. Great little basses once they’re tarted up a little.
  9. Apart from the backdrop falling down halfway through the gig…… 😆 Yeah, Schecter Model Ts are awesome. I had 3…. That black and white one was really nice.
  10. Our guitarist has the lead version. It was one of Hugh Mansons early guitars. Mike had it custom made by Hugh in a black/white diagonal paint job and it’s been his main guitar ever since….. that was around 40yrs ago I think…. This picture was 10yrs ago….. I miss those Schecter Model Ts I was using then.
  11. Yeah having looked closely at the pictures, all three of those anomalies look like blemishes/faults in the grain of the wood. Naturally occurring, but should not be present on a new instrument without serious discounts. You’ve done the right thing
  12. Awesome, really awesome basses those early BBs, I've had a few over the years. I had a beautiful BB3000S that I've regret selling many times over.
  13. You have absolutely every right to send it back yep... Would I have sent it back..... probably not from what I see in the pictures. If it was a sizeable scratch in the finish I would, or a sizeable ding, but from what I see there, I'd have probably ignored it. You're right though, it should be perfect from new.
  14. Great basses the M series, very versatile
  15. Looks like an absolute banger, nice design features, build looks decent and it sounds good? Win.
  16. We’re only doing bars and pubs these days, the big venues are behind us, so this should do the trick….. but yeah, upgrading next year is always an option
  17. Yes, I had that exact rig. About 10 years ago, bought it new from Promenade Music In Blackpool. I sold my beloved Ashdown EVO2 stack to buy it. I regretted it soon after. The Markbass was a beautiful thing, light, great build quality etc…… but my “grunt” had gone. I hated the sound and sold it all a few months later.
  18. Again…. this is a temporary rig, until I get the time and money to get what I want.
  19. Yeah agreed, I’m pulling out of the sale. I’ve been messaging the seller since this morning with no response, asking exactly what it is. I should have asked before bidding I guess.
  20. I’m an idiot I was looking at 2 1x12 cabs… probably where the confusion was
  21. I said 12 didn’t I ? 🤦🏻‍♂️
  22. The current owner is a bass player, and has been using it as such…. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225915593444?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=5905WYyDTje&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=dWKZrj9xQ8u&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  23. I’ve had combos since the 80s. So all this watts and ohms shizzle is new to me, all I ever thought about was how loud it was. Big and loud was always the requirement. To be honest I’ve always been sceptical about tiny amps and speakers. It’s illogical to me…. everything has always been big and heavy.
  24. So as the head is 500W, is it likely to damage a 350 rated cab? According to reviews, what TC claim is 500 is probably more like 400 in reality with this unit. It’s all mumbo jumbo to me to be honest
