1. ..........but not a cheap one. Used MM Sterling £900, used Warwick double buck £900?? Very pricey IMO, but drop dead gorgeous equipment, a bit like Halle Berry.
2. Excellent. So some beer, maybe some tuna steaks, french sticks and angus steaks, a rocket salad, honey roasted Wiltshire ham and Monterey jack cheese for some toasties, olives, sun dried tomatoes, pesto, mayo, wild boar sausages, free range bacon chops, a home made pavlova, and a box of Krispy Kreme donuts. Anybody going to bring any bass gear?
3. Love that SR900, a whole lot of bass for the money.
4. Buy Mikehs' Bongo. I played it a couple of nights ago, and was knocked out. Personally, I think they look fantastic, and the power and range of tones is unmatched by any other Musicman model. I love my 'ray, but would love a Bongo.
5. The bass corner has been improved a lot recently, more basses and amps, Markbass, Sandberg, Musicman etc. It's still predominantly a guitar shop, and easily the best one in the north west, but they're definately getting more bass gear in too now. Top place, my favourite shop too, and only 5 mins round the corner.
6.
Feel free to bring any drinks, there will also be someone armed with a kettle incase anyone requires a warmer beverage. We also have a George Foreman grill, so feel free to bring meats.
Could turn into a barbie this, sod the basses, I'm bringing a coolbox full of Corona, and some steaks.
7. Excellent, I'll look out for that. I love the Blockheads. I couldn't go to see them at the end of last year, can't remember why.
That Marcus is UGLY, you really need to get shut. I know just the person !!!!
I wonder Matt, no the K5 wouldn't normally have been my thing, but I just liked the look of them, regardless of the Korn link. It has such a great range of tones, and it's very playable indeed, I'm very impressed with it.

Ta. OLP is soon to have Villex electonics dropped in it. That should beef it up a tad.

Latest updated pic after the arrival of the Marcus and the K5.
13. You could offer Alan 2K for his Lakland DJ5, I'm sure he'd accept .
14. I think Steve's nailed it there really. The only difference between the two, in my experience, is the price.
15. Yeah that looks nice. The body shape looks like it's a comfortable play too, a bit Soungear like.
16.
The Wizard Thumper also has a very good reputation for around the same price. Hamster
+1 the Thumper is your best bet in my opinion.
17. I had TI flats on a Lakland JO4 I had, they were fantastic, nice feel, great tone, couldn't fault 'em.
18.
Be great to see you there Russ
Looking forward to it mate. Just paid for the Marcus, picking up the K5 tonight, sorted. Looks like my 2 basses only rule just went up to 5 in the space of a month.
19.
Definitely!! What will you be bringing? Can you find it OK? ped
Well as it happens I have a customer on the same road, so I know where Snowdon Rd is in St Annes. Gear wise, a choice of Villex loaded jazz, Stingray, Marcus Miller Jazz, OLP Tony Levin and maybe an Ibanez K5 depending on circumstances, so it's a question of what would be of interest to everyone. I guess the Villex jazz would be a definate possibility.
20. DAVE !! Long time no see mate. Russ.
21. Just spotted this, have you got room for another one?
22. Nice Al, very nice. Have you tried Thomastik flats? Nice bright click to them, not at all woolly like some flats I've tried, they were magic on that Lakland JO4 I had from Mike. Can you believe I'm on the brink of buying another Marcus Jazz? After selling the one I had from you, and regretting it about 5 minutes later. If I don't get it, a Lakland DJ4 might be next on the hitlist, haven't decided yet.
23. Very interesting, thanks for that. I was reading the piece, expecting him to say he'd dropped it a snapped it in half or something!!
24. That there is my ultimate bass. Unfortunately, the closest I'll ever come to one is looking at the pictures. Perfect colour, perfect year (same age as me). I wish
