  1. I’m not actually playing bass on this…. I’m the singer/songwriter/guitarist…. recorded for BBC introducing.
  2. I don’t know if I like them or not, but we’ve got tickets to see them in Manchester. Must remember to take my bobble hat.
  3. My first bass, in 1980, nice example that.
  4. Bartolini MK1s?
  5. Can’t go wrong….. they’re fantastic instruments
  6. Mmmmm…. Yeah, I’m thinking the same
  7. Having said 2, before, I’ve only ever used one, I’ve never needed the spare, ever. 100s of rock gigs, clanking the strings pretty hard, I’ve never broken a string once. Of course, the day I leave the spare at home is the day I break that string.
  8. Anyone had one? Any good? I have the opportunity to buy an MLB1, but you don’t see them around often…. just wondering if anyone has any experience with one?
  9. Alright, I’ll ask, what’s a BBoT?
  10. Faron Young is one of my favourite songs ever. The entire album, Steve McQueen, is beautiful.
  11. Best Jazz out there. I had one around the same time as this one, absolutely stunning. Knocks all current models into a cocked hat in my humble opinion. I genuinely wish I had the money
  12. At first glance I thought it said Milky Way….. Now….. PETE Way….. there’s a signature Thunderbird waiting to happen.
  13. I’ve often had the conversation with folks, is there was one bass, that could do almost everything? I reckon this bass would come close to that. Beautiful.
  14. I’m old…. Who’s Mikey Way? …. and in my opinion it’s massively overpriced, but then everything is, so….
  15. It was a shock… and always sad when we loose one of our members. I hope you’re doing better. Anything Phil Jones is great in my experience. I have the Big Head headphone amp, quality little device. You won’t be disappointed with your purchase.
  16. If I was on a stage in front of thousands of people, playing music I loved and getting paid, with a successful career behind me and a big fan base, I’d be very happy indeed, and I certainly wouldn’t be moaning about it, I’d be feeling very lucky and grateful. Maybe it’s easy to forget all that and take it for granted when you actually have it, I don’t know. Never look down your nose at an audience. Without them you are a nobody playing with yourself. I expect Mr Blood went back to his trailer and did exactly that while watching Miley Cyrus videos on his phone and repeating to himself how awesome he is.
  17. Beautiful bass, beautiful pictures and well presented ad. Nice. I hear you with arthritis, best of luck with it 👍🏻
  18. They’re also featured on the latest SBL pod/video cast.
  19. Technically….. mine’s a sofa bed.
  20. 1670s…. Henry Purcell was really kicking it with his baroque concertos around then.
  21. There we go…. all up to date, including the Thunderbird and all the modifications done to the others. All that’s missing is an incoming set of Newtone strings for the Embassy.
  22. I saw them a handful of years ago, supporting Saxon. I was never into them back in the day, but I tell you what, they were absolutely brilliant live.
  23. I’ll take back a little of what I said, in that I’ve spent all morning on the bass in question and I’m really enjoying it a lot. The pickups are actually really great in terms of tone, very very nice indeed, however ….. the rest, in terms of the presentation of the pickups I stand by. One of the wires had come off when I opened the package, so I had to re-solder it. Not ideal for a brand new pickup, and really, I’d like to see professional packaging…. it looked like a used item from eBay. Nitpicking maybe, and at the end, they sound really good, so in terms of the point of the pickups I’m happy.
