  1. Brand new basses only, you can’t borrow or buy second hand, and it has to be in stock, somewhere you can pick it up, today.
  2. Give it a nice printed cover of some sort, make it look as professional as you can, and charge a tenner. If people like your vibe, they’ll pay a tenner.
  3. Perfect thank you
  4. Just a quick one…. Anyone had flats on a Thunderbird? I love flats, and have them on most of my basses, but from memory, the last time I had a Thunderbird, it was pretty middy/muddy sounding, and probably needed some rounds to brighten it up a bit. I‘ve dropped a swanky new loom in there, which hopefully will make things better….. but, I’m just if anyone else has tried flats?
  5. I’ve been guilty of thinking that most “chunky” bridges…. are all mostly the same really, and the expensive ones are overpriced. I was very wrong about that.
  6. Yep, the only part of the bridge in contact with the body was where the screws were, there was even daylight under the front of it.
  7. Next will be the tuners…. keep you posted
  8. In the words of Shed 7, I’m “Going For Gold”….. and going for a tip of the hat to the Rex Brown signature Gibson… Gotoh bridge goes on, ”James’ Home Of Tone” loom, Gold knobs, Gold Dunlop buttons…..
  9. Out came the pots. Full sized unknown brand….
  10. The bridge shows that you get what you pay for….. a “high mass” bridge that has bent from string tension
  11. The tuners came straight off, revealing some pretty clumsy finishing
  12. I’ve been after one of these for a while. I used to have a white one many years ago and rated it, so this makes ideal project. I can’t afford a Gibson and I prefer the Tokai set neck to the bolt on Epiphones. Let’s be clear, from the off, this is TB shaped bass. The stock parts leave something to be desired, and everything will be stripped out, apart from the pickups. A couple of pictures of it before work commences, care of the seller, because I forgot to take any before I got stuck in
  13. I actually typed bear festival above…. that would be even better
  14. This ^^ TI flats are my absolute favourite, and they’re nice and soft to the touch. If I want more attack, I’ve also moved over to Newtone.
  15. I’m in, Dan’s a long time member here and top guy.
  16. Yep 3.5mm x 25mm was my guess
  17. Basically tight grained wood (Maple, Ebony) is harder and brighter sounding. Open grained wood (Rosewood) sounds woodier and darker. A generalisation, but near enough. I remember when Pau Ferro was touted as a premium option, on SRV Strats for example. Now it’s considered a poor man’s Rosewood.
  18. You say that now….. but you’ll bond with it during the gig….. and want to keep it.
  19. Yes I have flats on my Epiphone Embassy (Thunderbird pickups), and it sounds wicked. I’m undecided about what to put on the Thunderbird, once its new parts are fitted.
  20. One for the young people there
  21. I'm ok... GAK have got one in stock.... so my imaginary self is in the car on the way to grab it....
  22. You’re right 😕, my LTD is out of stock, so technically it doesn’t count
  23. Not what I’d normally go for, but it would cover many eventualities….. LTD B-15
