1. SUCH fabulous basses... I'll be a lifelong fan. Miss mine every day.
2. My old bass...... I miss it terribly, the one that got away... twice :-( It was me that got all the signatures.
3. I'll let you off...... a DJ4 was the best Jazz style bass I ever had. I sold that too.
4. Best PRECISION ever, I had one of these, utter joy to play, very well built, great sound. Then I sold it. Because I'm an idiot.
5. I use parcel2go, find a bunch of cardboard and a load of bubble wrap and poly chips. As long as you pack it well, preferably in a gig bag or something, and slacken the tension on the strings before packing, it's usually all good.
6. I would just like to point out to people, that THIS is how to advertise a bass! Great information, lovely pictures. GLWTS.
7. http://best-vintage-guitars.de/fenix_sh_shortscale_bass.html Anyone got one or know much about them? A mate is stripping one down and doing it up, we're just trying to find anything out about this particular model. Ta.
8. The winding has been dented pretty badly by the look of it, does it still work?
9. I echo what others have said. It's more rock and roll to drink during gigs, but I learned the hard way, that having a bottle of whisky next to me during gigs was a mistake. Alcohol dehydrates, and saps your get up and go. These days, lots and lots of water before and during the gig. I'm the lead singer/Bass player/Front man, and it takes a lot out of you to perform a gig for an hour and a half, and hump the gear in and out, before and after the gig. I find it physically very tough, but then I'm getting old too. Another important bit of advice I got from someone in the know, was to eat, and eat plenty before the gig, carbs carbs carbs. Gigs are workouts for me, and I sweat like a glass blowers arse too, so I have to fuel up or crash and burn.
10. Paul is a top geezer of the highest order, another fantastic deal, great to meet up again after so long. Cheers mate.
11. Black, black, maple Precision, still the sexiest bass on the planet. I wish I could afford this too.
12. Thanks for the nice comments folks, but yes, it looks like it's going to go via the bay. Aside from the sale itself, this bass really is one of the nicest I've ever played, hand on heart, I'm sad to see it go, but it's back to old Yamaha BB's for me, I used to have a few of them 10/15 years back, so I'm happy with that. At one point I thought I'd have no bass at all for a while, but thankfully that looks like it won't be the case. SO..... yep, as nice a bass as I've owned this Fortress, that includes, Overwaters, Sadowskys, Laklands, Musicmans, Roscoes.... etc etc, this little Warwick is right up there with any of those. A bargain for someone.
