    A recently acquired Roscoe Century 5. I LOVE my Kinal MK-5, dearly, and to have a pair of them would be a dream come true, I'm a big Mike Kinal fan. The Roscoe is totally beautiful, a keeper, no question,[i] but[/i]....for another Kinal...[i]well[/i]..... One small, issue....it's loaded with Barts

    I've recently become the bass player in a band I've been singing lead vocals for since the 80s. Heavy rock, original material, so I can get away with simplifying the basslines a bit, because they're our songs, not covers that everyone knows. It's pretty straight forward on most of the songs, with plenty of practise, but some of them are more difficult because of timing issues. Geddy Lee I am not, so my basslines with this particular band will be kept simple. In the covers band, where I'm bass and [i]backing[/i] vocals, I'm quite a busy player. How on earth one can play busy basslines [i]and[/i] sing lead, like Geddy, I really have no idea.

    Dave traded his Roscoe for my Stingray. The transaction was a breeze, Dave's communications were excellent, the whole job was a pleasure from start to finish. Top chap of the highest order.

    I've only had this old lady a few months, but reluctantly, due to lack of work, I need to move her on, I need some cash. It's ply I think, and I understand it's at least 1950's, but it could be as old as turn of the century, but I have no idea how to confirm that. She's very well played, and so has some dings as you'd expect, she has also had some repairs over the years. There's a hole on the underneath as pictured: She plays well, no idea what the strings are, they were on it when I bought it, and I guess it'd be a great bass to start on or dabble with. I believe it was used extensively on the road for many years by a pro player before I bought it, so it's a decent old bass. It comes with the pickup but [i]not[/i] the pre which I've sold separately: It needs a nice new home. I'd like £350ovno for it, and obviously you'd have to come and pick her up. No trades please, I am utterly skint, hence the sale. [size=6][b]GONE !![/b][/size] Cheers.

    Yes, I had this one for a while too. The mods are exactly what I would have done, and I'll wager the great bass I had, has been transformed into an absolute belter.

    I too paid £350 for my German Corvette, a trans black $$. It was battered and bruised, and dirty, but after some TLC it's a belter, and my youngest daughter will disown me if I ever sell it. In fact I'm thinking over moving the Stingray on to get another Warwick. Buy second hand. Every time.

    I've played in every hole, to every kind of audience you can imagine, drunks, punks, Hells Angels etc, with fights going on, spitting, etc (not EVERY gig I hasten to add) over the years, and during that time I've used, Overwaters, Shukers, Musicmans, Laklands etc etc, and never once has anyone ever touched any of my gear. I can understand your worry, but there's really no need. Basses are made to play. get in there and have fun is my advice.

    My first gig was Iron Maiden, 1980 (I[i] think[/i]), the original line up with Cliver Burr, Dennis Stratton etc etc I went wearing my school unifom, no idea why. I remember thinking........[i] I wonder what you're supposed to wear[/i]? It was amazing to a young lad to see something like that, and I've been a rocker ever since.

    Yeah cheers, I'll bear all that in mind. I've got a Hartke VXL Bass Attack on the way, that might help, and it was cheaper than a Sansamp.
