1. The L2000 is a classic, wonderful bass, but it does weigh a ton.
2. Definately a gear head, but only when it comes to basses. I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in amps and effects.
3. I went with the Precision. The AC might be a better bass, but you can always get another. Try finding another nice '72 P, and they're only going to go up in value/price.
4. Sadowskys, Stingrays and Precisions. Had a Sado, desparately wanted to love it, but I just didn't, the sound wasn't right, too generic. Had two 'rays, couldn't get over the silent G problem with either of them, shame, great otherwise. Had a few Precisions, really wanted them to ring my bell, but, again, they just don't sound right in my hands.
5. Anyone got an Ibanez Doug Wimbish they want to trade?
6. I need to come to one of your gigs. The Terrortones look to be right up my strasse.
7. It's a beautiful bass, I think people are just skint, so trades seem to be more popular at the moment. Have a bump.

I'm shocked. I didn't know Simon personally, but I did get used to seeing him around on here, and had various communications with him. Very very sad.
9. Anyone got a Fender Jazz they want to trade for my L2500?
10.
The Pantera fan in me is drawing me to this! Shame I have no practical use for it
I do have a practical use for it, so I suggest you take my L2500 in a trade .
11.
"Man I feel like a woman..." But you look like a tranny, love.
If she looks like a tranny, I've got problems.
12. I used to play in a UFO tribute band, white thunderbird and all. Not long after I'd called it a day, Pete played with them during one of the gigs at the Limelight in Crewe. That was a couple of years ago, and by all accounts he was rather well oiled, but managed to rattle off a few of the UFO classics with the band before staggering away. Not sure of his current situation, but I too hope all is well.
13. Who cares? I'm just watching Shania
14. Update, the L2000 has gone, so I've edited the OP. The L2500 is now available on it's own, sale or trade.
15. Broadening my horizons, I'm open to offers for 4 stringers now. I'm still after a trade for them both if possible to get the best bass I can. All PMs replied to.
16. I'm very surprised this is still here, that's the nicest looking thumb I've ever seen.
Does anyone know anyone know of any suitable luthiers or whoever in the north of England?
I took my Overwater Progress to er..........Overwater in Carlisle. Martin made me a beautiful ebony ramp which cost 80 quid. It was just stuck down with double sided tape. Further south Ged Green in Cheadle would make you one.
18. There you go Steve, that's exactly what I'm talking about, that's what I want.
19. If you'll take mine away, you can have the basses.
20. In a bid to try and get my old Kinal MK-5 back, I'll sell this whole package for £900, but I can't take a penny less. Tradewise it's all worth at least a grand. I know times are hard, but I think that's a great deal.
21.
Russ, why not track down that Kinal? Just checked FS threads and BC'er Mickb1773 traded it a few months back, so why not drop him a PM and do a bit of Clouseau work ... and see if you can get it back?
I know exactly where it is mate, but it's current owner doesn't fancy a trade, because I've asked. Mick moved it on a while ago, but I know where to. So if I want it back, which I do, I'll have to sell the G&Ls for cash, which in the current climate is difficult. I need to give it some thought though.
22.
Thing is, I get attached to things too easily, I've got three basses and I'd miss any one of them if I chose to sell it.
My problem is, I don't get attached to them at all. I have no problem in trading stuff in and out for a laugh. I really wish I could find a bass to fall in love with, and the one bass that did it for me, I let it go because I'm thick.
23.
I used to only have one bass.... then I signed up to basschat.
Nail on the head. I know what you mean Doc, I dunno, I just like the idea of having just one and really getting to know it's faults and characteristics. When I had the Kinal, I just loved every inch of it and didn't need anything else, then I got a GAS attack and like an utter pillock I sold it to get a Sadowsky, big mistake. So I'm after something along those lines once again.
24. Just fabulous, that's the best bass vid ever, love it. I'm selling everything and getting a Precision .
25.
I think you can spend 1000's on a custom bass that has a john east pre amp or whatever but it will never feel special as there is no character. Its like having a robot for a wife. Itl do everything you want it to but in the most boring and unsatisfying way.
Oh yes I agree 100%, I've played some dire "Expensive" basses, the right name on the headstock, but not one once of soul coming out of it. I've been left cold by some top end stuff, and I've been knocked out by basses that cost a couple of hundred quid.
