Can't watch that at the minute but I will definitely try to sit down with it tonight. I applaud the concept of trying to compose to the pedal, how many more will try to blues-noodle through a granular delay before we all realise that doesn't work?! -
Doesn't seem to be too out of whack, pricing wise. Seems to be a massive trend with their signature models moving away from having any tone sculpting on board, which is quite interesting. Have preamps, tone pots and even volume been a lie this whole time?

I appreciate an over-the-top instrument as much as (perhaps more?) the next person however I really don't like the following: Wobbly 'Not-a-Fender-copyright-wise-but-really-really-close' headstocks Pointy for pointyness' sake - BC Rich Warlock is iconic but that's about the limit Gold hardware Matt white pickguards Safe as milk designs after 1979. If you're going to super-strat then at least give me a swirl finish!

But what does that have to do with Eric Clapton? Also, the FBI investigated a suspected case in inappropriate conduct with a minor, not whether he was a shatbag to adult ladies that said he was. Which included his now ex-wife and several others. And is also massively unconnected to Eric Clapton, still.

I go through peaks and troughs (as we all probably do) but finding something new and good is a thrill I never get tired of! Doesn't have to be brand spanking new, either. Hidden gems of the past are just as valid as young bucks! But yes, it is very hard to do in this modern age what with the sheer volume of recorded material available. Which is why forums, blogs and 'zines are still essential but I can see why some people can't be bothered with that when they've already got bands they like...

Would they be more pertinent? It would seem entirely unrelated to me, her opinion of Clapton would very much exist in it's own sphere. EDIT: the only correlation I could think of would be if Ms. Bridgers was actively trying to "ruin his career" by making false allegations that he was a mediocre artist with a racist past. Which we have already discussed as being firstly subjective and so valid either way and secondly factually true in a public declaration. So it's not quite an apples-apples comparison.

Do we really need to have heard of, or indeed like, the musical output of someone who critiques our idols? It's like being asked to prove a negative, "I don't like her single so I can ignore her opinion." In which case only Joe Bonermozza will be able to critique Clapton, and I'm not sure he'll want to pull too hard on the 'dull and repetitive' thread of the blooze-rock jumper... Inevitably we come up against the fact that art is subjective and as such cannot be argued about in an objective manner and so the snake will eat it's tail evermore.

I don't think she has really committed any great sin. She wrote a song which briefly references a public figure - ain't the first and I'll bear my behind on the high street if she's the last. As a result the music press appeared to ask her a question about her opinion of said public figure to which she responded - an incident not entirely without precident? So, the crux of the matter is do you agree with her opinion? Now, I happen to agree with her, I find EC's music bland and cynical as he slowly removed all the edge from his music until it became entirely spherical! Also, drugs and alcohol are not a bullet-proof excuse for such a massive racially-motivated public diatribe but I also believe and hope for change and growth in everyone and he has certainly not done anything like that again publicly so I'll have to take him at face value on that. So we are left with some people find his music boring and some people don't like that he advocated for an ethno-state at one point in time. Not that shocking, not that controversial?

I mean, she's not wrong on either count is she? Rock Against Racism was formed as a direct reaction to Eric Clapton. Maybe mediocre is the wrong word for his music though as it always seems to be expertly put together. Perhaps the way to describe it would be "Blues written by focus group"?

I like Bongos, I like a tighter string spacing, I like that Musicman does actual 'signature' instruments for their artists. I can't say i'm going to rush out and buy this but I will say that the only thing I am not hugely taken with is the fretboard. But I do like how ballsy a model it is. It's not a P bass "but this one has a high mass bridge, making it entirely unique to this particular artist!"

I see a much bigger range of eq options, which will be handy for live stuff for sure! Should have clarified, I tend to be in more of a studio environment so as valid as the 'live performance' enhancements are, they aren't usually dealbreakers for me... I've got a C4 that frankly I haven't had enough time to dig into, might have a play with trying to recreate the OG multiwave and envelope filter sounds I enjoyed on it. -

I've got the series 2 (?) multiwave distortion and it's a lovely little thing. Had the original pro as well. Is this one going to be much different, aside from not looking like a Tonka Toy anymore? -
Maybe not the best example but I've got 1) ESP custom shop Les Paul copy with sustainer pickup. A real pleasure to play, would go toe-to-toe with any of the more "respected" luthiers in the world (as would anything coming out of the Japan facilities, really) 2) ESP Throbber. A "modern" dual humbucker interpretation of the Telecaster. Very versatile tonally, seems to like a slightly heftier string. 3) ESP custom shop flying V with floyd rose. Should use it for the widdly stuff but I don't like widdling (ooer!), I like using double locking tremolos to do surfy wobbles. The custom shops don't fit the music I play on them at all, really. I like pointy guitars though. PS, got these all second hand before people think I'm anything near well-heeled!

So, you've been scouring this forum, filled your boots with some noise boxes and now you've even got your signalchain all sorted. You're ready to hit the stage and wow the world with your refined palette of textures, your smorgasbord of sound, your binful of bleeps and bloops. But suddenly you realise that everything is loose! The horror of it all! You can't turn up to practise with all your pedals in one of those plastic storage tubs and you certainly don't want to face the wrath of the soundman as you unload everything from your Tesco's bag for life so what's a body to do? Fret no more, the answer to the budding soundscapist's prayers is here! The Pedaltrain Classic Pro can hold as many dirtboxes (phnarr phnarr) as you can stuff onto it's sturdy 32" x 16" frame. There's even room for a power supply underneath so you can chuck worrying about batteries into the dustbin of history. But wait, there's more! Not only do you get the board but you also get a very fetching black softcase to put it in. You can rest assured that you won't get any scratches on your pedals until you put them on there yourself (unless you want to use slippers or a nice soft mocassin on stage). And for no additional charge you'll get an optional shoulder strap to give you an extra hand free for load in, how good is that? These run at £120 brand new and this is very nearly new (put on the velcro and used it once, in all honesty) so how does £80 sent to your front door sound? I'll chuck in some velcro of the opposite polarity and some cable ties to sweeten the deal!

Up for grabs is a lovely example of the NS Design WAV4. If you are browsing this forum, you know what it is and I have to say this is a corker of one. I've only been able to compare it to a friends 3/4 acoustic and I have to say I found the NS to be much more playable. I've owned this from new and it only ever made it to one gig where it was used on a couple of numbers? So long story short, this is probably in mint condition but let's call it near-mint to err on the side of caution. Doesn't even have the "ring of death" where it connects to the stand like I have seen on other basses. Includes the lovely gig bag, the stand (obviously) and postage to your door!

Loopers can get mental expensive so while I'm not massively surprised at the price when you factor in the general cost level of Chase Bliss stuff that does certainly put it at the "not for me" price point. Plus I already spent the big bucks years ago on a Boomerang III and between that and my Tensor I don't think the Blooper brings too much to the table for me.

Had that happen to me with one of their triple guitar stands, whilst it was fully loaded! Wasn't massively impressed by that (as it had never been pushed beyond standard bedroom use) but I had not long bought one of their "traditional" style racks so just squished everything up on that. That rack works fine as it's just a padded frame, very little to go wrong with that.

I had a Cort A5 years ago and it was an absolute corker so I would probably have to say the B5 is what I would go for. That being said, some people aren't overly enamoured with the Bartolini's in them but they sound perfectly acceptable and bass-like and I never had any complaints. The only downside with Cort is that they are not a cool name brand, there are no legends on their roster. What they have got going for them is that Cort actually make most companies instruments for them so they absolutely know what they are doing and they offer quite a good deal for their price, I've always thought.
