1. Sure I'd put in the subject... anyway, £500. Gotta be collected though.
2. This is probably the coolest retro rig I own, but it takes up the space that I could have 8 heads in instead. The amp is awesome and the cab is brutally impractical, it is a 1x18 in a rear firing W horn enclosure like the Acoustic 360 cab without the power section. Head has been rebuilt by Umph to is tip top and good to go. Not willing to split these as are matching and have been together for ages. 4. Apparently new ones have different transformer, which could be the fix.
5. Too big and impractical to be worth much, the value is in the speaker, since there aren't really modern equialents. I was excited for a sec because I have a thing about Acoustic stuff from a local bassist who showed me the basics and would talk about his Acoustic rig from in the day. Then I realised I have this already and am trying to get rid:
6. The wrong part is using the old version. Pro alpha is better, it considers more stuff, no downside, didn't need to go past alpha because it was right already. The old version had some important omissions.
7. The Rickenwaffen thing has given the Rick copy an air of mystery and exclusivity that real Ricks don't have, they jsut ahve an air of expensive, because there is no shortage of them. Now they seem to have eased up, it is the right time to sell before everyone twigs there are still loads of them about.
8. Matamp GT200 will be enough into a Compact. The Orange has a theme of sounding amazing if its your first big valve amp. They aren;t even close to a Matamp. The output is the same as long as the impedance switch is in the right place, but there are a few accounts of the Orange AD200 not making its stated output when tested, might have beeen fixed on the new ones though.
9. Only slight risk with a stereo socket is you get two clicks as you push it in, as the tip bumps the ring conector, important you don't think it is in when you feel that and keep going until the second click.
10. The Peavey badge seems to drop price on things. Like the opposite of the Ampeg bage.
11. "Tokai": http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tokai-Ricky-Bass-Guitar-4003-Fireglo-/260949587745?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3cc1ceb721
12. Would dig that. The outputs on this were wired weird so you had to have two cabs plugged in due to capability of destroying any single cab available from Sound City.
13. Sounds like a not great plan all round. If you ahve a 15 built for lows, you need maybe a 1x10 to cover the highs, and that is kind of overkill.
14. Just got my SC200 roughly working. Needs switch wiring sorting becaus the light goes on when the standby is off, and the bias sorting, then tidy up the wiring. 15. Ibanez is back: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ibanez-bass-guitar-1977-/180811792617?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2a193900e9
16. Some speakons take a jack in the midle, if they don't, the jack won't fit.
17. Dude got up at 5am to drive it to bristol the next day, an paid for the time the driver spent hanging about, his parents told him they'd be in, then decided to go out.
18. Driver was fairly up for ramraiding the place.
19.
I think you need to just be glad you are not out of pocket - you could have ended up travelling down there, only to find no one home.
Had this happen, all the way from Bristol to Cambridge in a rented van and driver to pick up a rig, no-one in, hear the phone ringing in the house and see the rig through the window.
20.
People don't like Courier collections. One of the reasons is because it is up to the seller to make sure you get the goods in one piece. If your courier breaks it or loses it the seller is liable and can have the money removed from his account and refunded to you.
If the buyer arranges the courier, ebay count it as collection of the goods and don't hold the seller responsible for damage, even if the seller did an idiot job of packing it. I've tested this.
21. This won't last long, lefty 'Ibanez': http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ibanez-Left-handed-Bass-Classic-german-design-Feckin-C-nts-/320841834440?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item4ab3a9dfc8
22. I don't test it out, I just phoned to pester them. Go up there and they'll show off their toys. Talke about valve pre but the levels mathcing doesn't work so well, I guess as a custom thing the treading on orange toes isn't such a big deal.
23. Didn't talk money. Talking outgoing money usually upsets me, amps are supposed to be fun.
24. Just called to pester them about this, prototype is on the test gear, and should be there to have a go on in a week or two. It is all solid state, with a mid control that can boost and cut. If this goes well they are going to work on a valve pre one, there is complication there due to relative levels and input sensitivity, an also treading on Orange TB territory.
