Not if you are one of the non-Chinese that has jsut been plowing vast sums into restarting exploitation of non-Chinese rare Earth deposits.
2. Nested layer of fakers had occurred to me, kinda figured no-one would do that.
3. After the violin smashing incident publicity, they might be treading a little more lightly.
4. Yay, wishbass. Totally Steve's sorta music. Gonna post on his wall.
5. This Ibanez one appears to be same as my CMI one, hardware and such: http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=120846218198 Handy for people trying to find the origin of the CMI.

Got any of those ol valve amps still? Want any?
7. Looking at mine, there is a nylon washer between teh plate and the moving part that could stand being thinner, or replaced with a thinner one.
8. This is where they are: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/26654-recommended-luthiers/ New Ireland Section! Chris Larkin +353 66 713 9330 http://www.chrislarkinguitars.com Co.Kerry
9. Might be possible, can't see much harm in trying.
10. The smelling will be moisture trapped somewhere, neck pocket, under the plate, need it all apart to dry properly. I have to sort a bass played by a dude sweaty enough that it had pooled under the scratchplate, whole thing smelled like armpit, was gross, and all the shielding foil had corroded away.
11.
Not sure if I know what you mean by cutaways. Basically the pieces of different wood are glued together - like plywood - albeit expensive plywood. once all the pieces have been glued together into a block the shape is cut out, then the contours are shaped.
Generally you aim for the grain to follow the same direction, whereas in plywood you alternate.
12. My plan when I get onto making basses from the wood stage is to hit up a UK craft furniture forum, an see what is going there. Probably stick to specifically for guitars necks though. Although not unlikely to go the wishbass route and laminate up necks for warp resistance.
13. Those are nice basses. Paid much less for my 80s USA Eagle though, even considering hte neck repair that had.
14. Hayden are their guitar amp line though, they used to be branded Ashdown but everyone thought they'd be bass amps. Lead to a few bargain Ashdown guitar heads for me. Dave Green is a distortion guy, not totally inline with the original Matamp thing of clean.
15. Got a Dimarzio Will Power for the purpose. I run two outputs and two rigs and go for a entirely different thing to Billy Sheehan.
16.
Plays really well in spite of the nut. Tuning is stable, really comfy neck and frets, no dead spots that I can find and plenty of sustain. It's surprisingly well balanced too. Only slight issue I'm having with it is a tad more "string ring" than I'm used to. I'm not knew to playing 5, and my muting isn't any worse than when I'm playing my Warwick $$ 5, but the strings on this just seem to vibrate a hell of a lot easier, even though both basses are strung with the same brand/gauge. Could that be nut related? Scott
The strings above the nout on the headstock ringing will be down to a badly cut nut.
17. And ehre is the same one again: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Marshall-MBC-Series-810-1200W-Bass-extension-cabinet-Collection-Only-/270894504984?pt=UK_MusicalInstr_Amplifiers_RL&hash=item3f12921c18
Sold exactly as seen in the picture.
That gets a 'hmmm'.
18. Little bit of distortion that stays the same when you turn up and can drown it out is crossover distortion, just been talking to the SS amp tech guy locally. Its the bit where your push/pull class A/B goes from push to pull messing up, so it stays the same when pushing and pulling harder because the crossing over point stays the same. Fixing depends on how adjusty the inside of teh amp is and what has gone wrong to make it happen.
19. You get that if you have the wires the wrong way round, there was a change in the schematic and a correction sheet added seperately to the preamp, where the connections were swapped round, it still works but you get buzzy poles because they aren't earthed like they should be. Had it when I wired Shockwave's bass,
20.
Bar magnets on the bottom - a sure sign of a quality pickup. Not.
Plenty of quality pickups have a bar magnet on the bottom, usually a bit less crudely installed, but essentially a ceramic bar with ferrous poles. Dimarzios are generally like that, and ceramic Kent Armstrongs.
21.
I have a P-bass's-worth of black screws going spare. PM me your address and I'll post them.
Incoming
Whats the story behind the cable tie?
The machine heds don't have capstans, so when I was taking the neck on and off a bunch of times to get it set right, the cable tie stopped them falling off, so I just needed to slacken/tighten rather than having to rewrap. Think might have to add a mudbucker.
22. EMG licence out their name. That is probably a pickup from a Johnson or AXL musicman styley, the P ones come with 'Johnson EMG' pickups.
23.
Didn't realise I was stopping him. I was only highlighting your apparent lack of knowledge about these amps, in case you made a mistake purchasing it.
So you assumed I was asking for pics of the inside because I already knew what they looked like? I was asking because I don't know, and I want to know. I still don't know, because there are still no pics.
24. How about letting the OP, the person who is trying to sell the amp, put the pics and information about his amp, that he is selling, into the thread?
