1. You can order new toroidals wound to spec, probably not cheap. One of the advantages of toridals is they make less mechanical noise as there is less straight length of wire to vibrate.
2. May entertain silly offers for cash on this for a brief period, try it.
3. Midrangy fuzz is done best by guitar speakers anyway, pretty much what I use for the purpose, I do the two amps thing (in practice, mostly my lame guitarist borrows my guitary rig because he can't bring an amp). Basically, the guitar sized cabs for bass, will still basically be guitar cabs, and not much bassier, somewhat tougher drivers, but the cost of the tougher drivers is the high end that you want is reduced. Two rigs is safer for the rigs because they aren't pushed so hard, and you don't have output transformer upsetting weird impedances from mixing cabs and drivers.
4. The distrotion is pretty popular in Doom circles, it is nasty, not like valve amp distortion, but in a good way. Could have a classic dual SS amp rig going on there. I'd definitely score it for that price.
5. Enough lawyers will draft it so it isn't so easy to work around, then a little bit of case law from the Court of Appeal or higher will fill in the gaps, I spot the 37" dingwall low B loophole already. Chapman sticks remain a grey area. Possession of a Chapman stick with intention to groove the low end.
6. If you already have another head, go dual amp, just cut the lows through the guitar head. Unless you mean your guitarist is borrowing it, in which case fire him and take it back, where you are going, you don't need guitars.
7. Doesn't really work like that. The cabinet for the guitar speakers is too small, if you put in bass speakers, it will choke off the lows, and probably not have the brightness of guitar speakers. Best plan is to run another head, mids and highs only into the guitar cab, that would sound awesome, and multiple Matamps is the true path. If you do the two bass speakers, and blocking/porting the other holes, that might work, but it probably won't agree with the 2x15, the lows from the ports can be out of phase with the lows from the 2x15 and all sorts of fun.

9. Are they in such a place you can clamp it up so they close? If you can, run some thin superglue into the cracks (if you have a way of opening them that is ideal) and then clamp it up.
10. Need to match speakers to the box, or the box to the speakers, loads of threads about it, but WinISD is key. Do you have a box already, or are you making one? If you are making one, Eminence have handy box designs ready to go.

12.
I can do mate, if you want I can give you a shout next time I'm down your way?
That would be ideal, but I've moved out of the House of Bass and now reside in Doom House in Greenbank, neatly missing the riot (people were that upset by the loss of the soothing sound of JoeGarcias habitual 3am bass cab stress tests).
13. I'd work the bass. I'd play amps. Pretty much like this with backline:
14.
i have the vt and always have it on (oi loves it )be interested to know what this new version sounds like with the amp sim off? could be great as an overdrive for me(behind my old 1)
I'fguess it sounds more like if you run a distortion into a cab with a tweeter, unless your cab doesn't have a tweeter.
15.
I'll do Nitromores work for £50
Will you still paint bass bodies? I have one already stripped, but the wood is too wrecked for my usual oil finish.
16.
Good god, I bet that thing would wake the dead. Good luck with your sale man, sorry to spam!
No prob dude, but please wait a while, like till the ad has dropped off the front page. It is indeed a beast, experiments show it kicks out more low end than an SVT.
17. Preamp valves are easy, power valves are a little more involved for best effect, they need matching in balanced pairs and biasing for best performance. Stock tubes/valves tend to be budget based economic choices, depending on the sort of preamp, they can make a pretty big difference, the biggest difference commonly encountered is swapping lower gain valves into an Orange Terror Bass so you can get clean sounds from it, those are preamp ones and dead easy.

19. You have pretty much as much mids as you are gonna get with those settings, its the classic Fender tone stack, the Orange (proper ones) use a Bandaxall type, that is less knobs and more flexibility, so you can get a mid boost. Middly cab is about the only way to get a mid boost, once the sound out you bass is done.
20.
It doesn't look doom but I'd rather be able to hear myself clearly than have an impractical 8x10" penis extension behind me
Doom fail.
21.
I've been using this setup for years: The cab may change from time to time but this is how I monitor myself in my function band. I prefer it to the right hand side but space sometimes doesn't allow this so the audience miss me busting some moves when I'm playing pub gigs with no PA support, I turn the stand round so that it is beside/behind me, level it out horizontally so I can still hear it clearly while still pointing towards the audience instead of at me Easy peasy
Totally practical, none Doom.
22.
Would the frequencies cause any problems to the amp components, i.e shake something loose?
The Compact is super stiff, so only vibration from sound should be getting at your amp components, and that will be happening wherever it is. Some amps do suffer from vibration problems, I think hot glue is the fix for that.
23. Guy who sat next to me at work mentioned he was interested in taking up drums. I had a quick look on Gumtree and shot him some links, he was doing a half day. His Mrs gets back from work to be greeted by him sat at his new kit in the living room. Must have been a picture.
24. First thing to ask is what you hope to achieve by extending the setup. Same but louder means another same 4x10. If it is something else, will need to know what that is before going any further.
