Gain based stuff is a bit reliant on input/output signal levels and impedance. The FX loop has a tendency to be line (loud) level, and expect that same loudness to be put back in, but gain pedals tend to be more gainy with more going in and output the same signal, so they might all disagree and give you a very distroted, but very quiet signal, plus the impedance mismatch might make it very thin too (but I don't understand how that works).

That sort of cab demands a mid powered (100-200w) head screaming its guts out. If you want epic low end, you have the wrong cab, this is a big warm drive monster. I just happen to have an Orange OR120 from the early 70s sat about that would match up real nice, and am willing to ship internationally.
I dont claim to be that up on modern states but are you sure you dont mean Korea? Isnt Vietnam now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam with no North and South or am I completely round the bend?
I was totally confusing with Korea. But the point where Vietnam was fighting, there was a north and south, and the Americans were supposed to be fighting for the not communist half. If they were doing it now, they would call it 'liberating' and 'defending freedom', as they were supposed to be saving the civilians (who work in factories making Nampegs) from the Viet Kong 'insurgents' who were seeking to make them into pinkos. Of course, the Americans lost, so they are pinko commie slaves now.

Bunch of fiddling with a VT bass should head the right way.
Why is something being made in the far east so bad? The best TV's are made in the far east The top of the range Laptops' are made in the far east IPhones are made in the far east
Difference between those and amps is they are supposed to be used within spec. Use an amplifier within spec, and it will be clean, throw it in and out of a van and crank it into distortion and see how long your gadget lasts. Course, American wiring is dire in general and even US Ampegs have come under criticism.
Outsourcing to vietnam in particular didnt go down that well with some americans. I remember reading a comment from an ex Ampeg employee who said thirty years ago I was fighting them and now they have taken my job
That is amazing, he was supposed to be fighting for them, unless he was some sort of communist who was fighting for North Vietnam against the south who make things for export.

Do some continuity testing on that shielding, looks nice, but some has conductive glue and some doesn't, I don't see and solder joints if it happens to be stuff that doesn't. Also, CRT monitors/TVs are a source of lots of noise if you want to find is noise is making it through, so waving your bass around in front of a screen should reveal if it is picking up noise from a source like that.
ashton vba300 - not bad all for the money, we have a preowned one in the shop for 199, and a newer one for 299
Are those the jobs that are suspiciously similar to the eden ones?

Can listening to music benefit my child?
Mr. Foxen replied to Bloc Riff Nut's topic in General Discussion
My little sister never had much music going on and now she thinks X-Factor is good, so let that be a warning. Really depressing misanthropic doom/black metal will help avoid disappointment with adult life. -
You know what you have to do then.

Should get some wipe on wood dye to colour the wood showing parts. Also, get brass inserts in the neck so you can swap them without wearing it.

It isn't so much to do with the split any more, the Orange that split off died and was buried. The current Orange is a resurrection (I think by the original guy), but there was a previous attempt at resurrecting the name between Matamp and Gibson, so there are at least 3 situations that sourness could have come from. At the end of the day, the Orange name was trading on a historic reputation earned by Matamp designed and made items, that were highly visible. They've rebuilt a rep by endorsing tons of things so their lurid amps are visible being played by the right bands, and you get the privilege of paying for those when you buy one. In short Orange is marketing, Matamp is engineering. Matamp don't like the fact that they are associated with a big corporate entity selling a mass produced brand name and Orange don't care about a tiny workshop in Huddersfield run by a grumpy northerner.
Thanks for all the posts, much appreciated. Anyone with any experience with Matamp's after sales service?
Their service on my Matamp was excellent, but it was quite a long time after it was sold in the late 70s. It is a small operation so you'll talk to someone who is on the ground if you call them. Fairly important not to mention Orange though.

Speaker swapping can be a minefield of suck, but there is plenty of advice available in the amps and cabs section, or shoot a pm. -
Can of switch cleaner isn't that cheap, and not something most people have about.
-
Probably fairly local to me if anyone wants a third party check up of it.

Phase issues tend to kill lows, and since there aren't any lows in a metal muff, it shouldn't be too destructive in a blend, but it would be interesting to wire up a phase reversed patch lead to see what odds it made.
-
The bass big muff has a blend built in, and a bit less gain than the standard muff, so if you like the blended muff sound, that is the way to go.
-
Matamp and Orange aren't really comparable any more. Matamp are hand made to order, Orange are Chinese imports. Phone Matamp and tell them what you want and they will make it to suit. Also, don't mix a 4x10 and a 1x15, just get two 4x10s or two 1x15s, mixing gives worst of both worlds.
I thought about getting an Acoustic Tee made, til I saw on the Acoustic forum that the guy in the States who owns the trademark was gonna start suing people who did!
Some Americans don't know that American law only applies in America. -
