1. Failed to get a job this week, so more frivolous purchases get the chop. I can't even play electric guitar, it has become readily apparently when I rigged up this lovely small stack. I'm gonna pull this as soon as I am working again, cause I don't really want to lose it. 120w 16 ohm 2x12 angled guitar cab. Closed back with the option of half or open backed. Some scuffing, nothing major. £250 collected from Bristol, I am willing to pack for a courier, as it seems I'll be in, if you arrange collection.
2. Morley Wah: Optical, big sweep, no scratching as it is optical. Loads of mods can be made to convert it for bassier sweep or broader, I haven't done these, just had the switch replaced as the old one wore out. £35 posted Mini mixer: Was using it to mix my split signal into a single amp for practice convenience. Using an LS2 as they have more options. Input impedance is a bit low for instruments (600ohm I think), probably better for line signal, although it did work. Rubber feet removed and replaced with velcro, runs off 9v. £12 posted See also: other pedals for sale
3. 4x10 on the floor probably won't offer any more then. Aside from being louder overall, but still missing your ears.
4. You standing it on end? Should have same effect as a 4x10.
5. Can you slave another amp off the heads? In case you need more power, say from a Strategy 400?
6. I figured the inlays didn't go close enough to the edge, but I thought that might vary with date.
7.
This one might deserve a thread of its own: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rickenbacker-4003-Ba...e-/200484280773 This goes beyond being a Faker - it's a brand-new, full-blown counterfeit, and the first one I've ever seen. Time for Mr Hall to start bulk-buying the adult nappies, I think. J.
What is the giveaway?
8. ChiSeerkind runs a GTV from the high out on his firebass head (100hz) into a guitar cab, gives that oldschool ampeg clunk to the cleans, not hear it alone being driven though. Will report back after we have a gear nerding session since we moved into same practice space.
9. What happened to the guitar? I think I know someone might be after it. If it is going, could you shoot me an under the scratchplate pic? Will humbuckers fit in mostly.

11. 64mm neck pocket. Wood is fairly weighty and seems hard from the dings in it not being very deep, so probably not basswood or agathis.
12. They do a wheeled shelf thing that is rack sized too. It's the only thing in this pic I still own:
13. Local mate gave this to me to sort out for selling. It has been doing the sitting in the bedroom bass of people intending to learn, then used to put down the bass tracks on home recording. It's been used lefty, so has the extra strap pin thing going on. For unknown reasons half the scratch plate has been removed. Body is proper wood and neatly routed. Neck is pretty chunky. Just put it back together after cleaning, and I'll set it up and such, fairly apparent the intonation is still for lefty stringing, but I'll sort that when I have some strings. Edit: Now including postage in the price, posted with neck off.
14.
I've not tried one of the Peacemaker heads? I heard it was partly designed by Dave at Matamp but does it sound anything like a Matamp?
I had that confirmed by Matamp, this one isn't made by them, but one of the early run made 'down south' as they put it. Not A/Bed it with a Matamp (my slave isn't really comparable), might compare with a GTV soon though. It is two channel, unlike Matamps. It's main appeal is that you can bias it yourself (the VU acts as a bias meter) and it is fused to hell, and all tag board, so easy to maintain.
15.
Great video, although I'm not sure if that is the bass of doom he's playing. I recall that when they got him in to film this video they put him up for a couple of days and that he had to lend a bass because he had lost his by this point. Something about a student providing one for him? Or maybe I'm thinking of the video where he plays with Jeff Berlin.
Its got the precision knobs so don't think it was a lender. The vids where is is chatting to a dude, he is playing a couple of other basses, and one he strips the strings off and puts it back together at the start, would make sense if that's the lent bass video.
16. Matamp designed head and guitar cab:
17. Pretty sure leaving the limiter on is a good thing. It sounds horrible, but it isn't breaking your tweeter by clipping your power section. It only comes on if you are asking more of your amp than it can give.
18.
must admit you only seem to hear good things about barefaced cabs, will my amp be a descent match for a compact?
I reckon so, don't see any reason why not. Does it have the built in limiter DDT protection or something, that lots of Peavey heads have? I reckon you'll probably clip the head before the cab.
19. There is an amp tech working from PMT as it now is, formerly Reverb, formerly Sound Control, in Bristol, get him to give it a once over and you should be good to go. I know a dude travels between Bath and Bristol fairly often and likes touching old valve amps, so might even get a ride for it to here, as I'm not up to much and not far from the shop. In fact, that dude is a studio engineer, if you are looking for one.
20. That budget would get you a Barefaced Compact, which is a 1x15, and for a little over budget (once shipping is factored in) a Barefaced super twelve 2x12. Those kick you into 'next generation' territory over most 2x10s you'll come across. Ridiculously light and will go shockingly loud compared with 'standard' cabs. If you don't have a drummer or a ridiculous valve stack to compete with, a Compact should sort you. Haven't personally tried the super twelve, but I'd anticipate the same but more so compared to the Compact.
21.
Ugh. I don't like the look of this at all. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Clearance-Skylark-Ri...=item45f34adf3f Edit: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rickenbacker-4001-Ba...=item3a5bd627c9 I'm guessing that this isn't genuine. What's going on around where the thru neck joins the body, as you can see on the back? What are those holes, and surely that's not Rick workmanship in fitting the wings?
Single truss is a bad sign I think. They did have problems with the neck collapsing into the pickup cavity doing that though.
22.
A 500W speaker is radiating the same heat as 4or 5 large incandescent lights or a 500W electric bar fire. All this inside a tiny enclosed space.
This would only be true is you were constantly feeding a speaker 500w, which with music you aren't.
