1. OC3 is digital, so doesn't do the same thing as the OC2, doesn't have the same glitching. Does track chords better though.

 3.
I also believe sticking an ohmmeter across a speaker is not a good idea (I stand to be corrected on this though)
It can confuse and upset people cause it often doesn't say what they expect it to, but don't think there is a damage risk. Might cause fun with crossovers I guess.

 5.
That looks stunning, think its worth a punt?
Bath ain't far, and I'm jobless, if people had a whip round for my train fare, I'd go check them out and write up copious notes.

 7. Tweeters = Not Doom. And for that reason, I am out.
 8.
come again?
There are many, many nice fender P shaped basses about. Many are very good. Some are valuable because they are old, because old ones were very good, often. However you can get a very good new one now, which undermines the value from being good, leaving the value from being old. A bass that is a bit more unusual has novelty value, and can also be old and good, so might make a better investment as it is less likely to have its value undermined in such a way. Plenty of rubbish 70s Fenders about that are total dogs, they have value from being old, but are bad instruments, 80s Fenders can be very good, but not worth as much as they aren't as old, even I remember the 80s. Idecades time, the difference between the 70s and 80s will not be so great, age wise, so it will be the choice between an old crap Fender (70s), or an old good Fender (80s), that looks pretty much the same as the very excellent Squier you can buy for a fraction of the price. But the old and very excellent weird BC Rich, that has no competition.
 9.
Has anybody tried boiling their strings to brighten them up? I have done a few times and it gives me a month or so extra out of them! Go on... try it!!
Boiling bad, meths good. Edit: Better thread, I was actually thinking of.
 10. What sort of string tension do you like? Kinda between normal and 5 string set there, even a heavy normal set will be slack, and tuning a 5 string set up a tone is asking for trouble, if you do it, get a quality set as you'll be straining the cores, and have a backup play in case it doesn't like, especially if you pick hard. When I went super low I got some custom wound, as I like high tension. Got it done by Newtone strings.
 11. Just been having a think about this, and I'm thinking cheap but really good basses are here to stay, there are still plenty about from the 80s Japanese golden age, and all the nice Squiers and such are about to stay, so the value of a nice but generic fender copy instrument may well not last, its value will only be in being old, as there are plenty of quality fender alikes, so eventually the value will be in old, unique and well made. I hope.
 12. The new look, some scratches from the Will power, either polish out or blend with the plate as it gets used.
 13.
I've just reported the item to ebay, telling them the seller refuses to complete the transaction and has asked for more money. I don't think just leaving negative feedback will have the desired effect. He has zero feedback ATM and I suspect I'm dealing with a child, (his user name is m***o95 and I think the 95 might refer to the year he was born).
Had this before, get a phone number off ebay, you'll talk to his mum, and there will be shouting, followed by a parcel.
 14. Yeah, the problem is it looks really 80s and unfashionable. For that sort of money someone could score some timeless sunburst [boring] Fender. Stuff like this will come into fashion again at some point, then its time to sell. I try and scope out unfashionable but quality stuff for the quality at a budget, unfortunately this has left me with more points than strings.
 15. Put the original pickup back in, so now priced to reflect that. Looks even more like a bargain now.
 16.
in my dreams hasick gear dude, yea well i got a sans di and a tu-2 funnily enuff but how do i go about doing that then...if i had 2 rigs i send it too one or somthing...or do you think its worth me getting a splitter like GD suggests to make things easier. cheers
The sansamp has a line out or parallel out next to the input, plug in there, and you have a clean signal to send through your other effects, the TU2 also has a second out, one mutes and one doesn't. It's mixing back together that is fun, I have a mini mixer going that sort of works, but it clips kinda easily, if you use loud pedals, think the input impedance is too low. Shoot a pm if you want it, it will be cheap.
 17.
My experience is limited to the Compact that went round the country last year, but I really disliked the look of the strap handle whe I saw photos of that cab. I thought it looked cheap and flimsy and would last about three weeks. Once the cab was here and I'd lifted it twice I never thought about it again. The additional wheels on the 2x12 would be a doddle. However, I think I should be sent another to try out, just to be sure.....I'll look after it, honest!
That was the old heavyweight one too.
 18.
If your stereo power amp has a facility to bridge, and not all do, you are effectively combining the power output from each channel and making the amp mono. This requires a speaker cable specially wired for the job.
Think there are plenty of variations on the theme though, might not be too consistent, some have a bridge specific output, some are binding post only for bridging, some have internal switching that uses a normal output.
 19.
Get yourself 2 rigs, one clean and one "effected".
It starts there. It's still not finished here:
 20. Fairly sure that's Earl, of "my name is" fame,
 21. Boss LS2 is handy as it can mix back together again. But easiest splitter is the Boss TU2, as you may already have one. Other tuners have two outs also. The Sansamp is another pedal that will always be useful and has a parallel out. I've used both previously.
 22.
Couple of tins of spray paint would sort that for you.
Don't for a second think that hasn't crossed my mind. Also, electrical tape, and stapling roadkill to it. Edit, looking bit more closely, thats had all the top spec bits put on it, actually an awesome bargain if you can be dealing with the silly colour. Someone go buy my Fenders.
 23. Does your amp have an effects loop? Rack stuff generally has to go in one as they need the signal level that's already been through your preamp (the knobs part of an amp). The 3630 is very cheap and has a good rep for bass, but try and score a DBX one, they come up for not much more, and are really good. "Golden-Ears" JoeGarcia reccomends them over the Alesis ones for being uncoloured. Really, if you are a newbie player (not necessarily advice to you, but I kind of want to say it in every compressor thread that new people might read), should probably avoid the compressor and work on playing consistently, rather than compensating for inconsistent technique with effects.
